BBAU 2014 Launch Date 7th/8th September

Big Brother will have to start by the first week of September. It's the latest they can go to have at least a 85 day season of the show and will then take them to the end of the ratings year. And perhaps Block and Big Brother will run together at least in the Block's final weeks?

So let's say the finale is on Wednesday November 26 Big Brother would have to start at least Sunday September 7 (for 81 days) or the week ahead Sunday August 31 (87 days - maybe most likely). It makes sense this year for NINE to keep Big Brother on until the end of the ratings season otherwise they will have a 3 week gap like last year.

If The Block starts in the next few weeks I can see that happening.

I'm guessing the first Big Brother "coming soon" promo will air in The Voice finale. Giving it a month and a bit of promo before it actually starts.
 
Everything for Nine this year has been pushed back 1 month. This means a definite 29thish of August start! *cries* *deep breath* I agree witch what had been said up there ^^^^

Did you not see the pictures Alex put on his twitter the other day, They house is empty. No Walls. Lots of work to be done.

yes haha i take it back, i jumped the gun and i keep forgetting about the block that still has to fit in as well.
 
According to the original series "Casting Special" for BB 2001, the whole house build from breaking ground took just SIX weeks.

Besides, we're not talking about building a house. It's just a set, and only needs to look good on a TV screen for 3 months.
 
Obviously The Block will have to be FINISHED before the launch night of BB, as the Block's glass house IS the Big Brother house
 
Also The Voice Australian finishes by 21st July.

If The Block starts AFTER the Voice, it will run until either 6th or 13th October which leaves 6weeks for BB to finish by end of ratings season.

There is no time now to have each one start after the other, Goon.
 
the voice is only 2 nights a week near the end isnt it? so they can easily slot TBGH into the final few weeks of the voice...

all this glass house talk reminds me of the BB rip off, wasnt bad from memory...

Yeah the block and the voice have run concurrently before. I was just pointing out that @Goon's post was a bit misleading OR he could be right and then Bb is a short season?!?
 
The Voice is only on 1 night a week now at the moment, but finishes and the Tour starts from the 27th July (after the show finishes).

Who's to say that TBGH isn't a short series and only goes for a Month ?

You should know, My posts are never straight forwards and they are always in codes. Maybe you need to go back and start your theory again.

Ps Hamish & Andy is on Tuesdays from the 1st July, I wonder how many weeks that is going to run for ?

I'd been wondering that too, and kinda surprised it hasn't been mentioned until now.

Last year, The Block had a shorter season (All Stars) which ran for 39 episodes, then had a standard length season (Sky High) which ran for 66 episodes.
This year, they've aired a standard length season (Fans v Favourites) which ran for 61 episodes, with another season still to come (Glass House).

I'd say it's likely that upcoming Block is a shorter season because Nine pretty much has the same amount of stuff to air as last year, and adding an extra four weeks to one show would make airing it all before the end of the ratings season a bit of a nightmare...
