Timdormer how long are you in newcastle for?

tim dormer &#8207 Timdormer
@_tonyperryy just one night!!

Is it possible that the wording of tim's tweet is causing the confusion. If he's not going to the Bali gig, why would he take a flight that went to Melbourne?

it appears that Tim flew to Melbourne, and attended The Block's Inspection Day this morning, and would have been going to the Bali dinner as well until he was invited to a wedding in Newcastle.

I'm pretty sure that Libby has something to do with the Bali kids charity and so would be certain that Drew is still going. It also explains why Libby is in Melbourne. I'm disappointed that Tim would promote he is going and then not go.

I wonder if Sam flew back to Melbourne with Libby...we didnt see him in any of those photos last night?
so maybe Libby is just here for the bali charity event.

Mikkayla's now going to the footy game tonight

So this really makes me annoyed (as a previous event runner) - looking at the advertising for the benefit night, I could assume that (excluding Jordan Tolli), fifty percent of the total 'celebrities' advertised will actually be in attendance.

I can't see any mention that Tim, Mikkayla or Jade are no long coming on the website or their facebook. Infact, I remember Tim promoting ticket sales saying that those who purchased tickets at a certain time would also get a photo of themselves with Tim and Drew. Guess that is no longer happening now.

The Charity should have notified ticket purchasers of a change of line up as soon as it happened. Conveniently, these changes seemed to occur after the ticket sale closing date. Being cynical, they may be relying on people not requesting refunds because it is a charity event, but to be honest, it's still a really bad practice and is false advertising. I certainly won't feel compelled to donate to that particular charity - they may do good work, but PR associated with fundraising events is vital. (Also, they've only been around since 2013, so this type of hit to their reputation is really damaging. There is also another charity with a very similar name which has been around since 2002. And their name doesn't come up in a google search (CFBK). Sounds so shonky, potentially).

From a reputational point of view, Tim should have also announced that he was no longer attending. The invite to the wedding must have been very last minute and I believe he should have honoured his existing obligations. Very poor form in my opinion. Completely dishonest which Tim would say was not his approach to things, but there you go. Poor Tim fans.

Non-rant - Looks like Drew accompanied Tully to the hairdresser at Melbourne Central - Pretty sure that book place is located there.

Just coincidence that Tahlia is posting photos of Luna while Tully is in Melbourne? Emotional blackmail?

This is the first fundraising event ever organised by Adrian (the guy from CFBK). Last week they were scrambling for a dj... yesterday it was a projector. I have a very hard time believing any of the HMs would just bail on any charity event to go to a wedding, footy match or to workout.

it looks bad on everyone involved, if someone commits to doing something for a charity they should do it and do it to the best of their ability PERIOD

Totally agree - I personally sent messages to the organisers to confirm whether certain housemates were attending (Mikkayla and Tahan) and they responded to neither. I actually wonder if Mikkayla, Tahan and Jade even knew they were using their names and faces to advertise the event. I think they used the wording of "Big Brother Housemates" to be ambiguous. If I was going, I would certainly be pissed about the false advertising. Yes, it is a charity, and because of that, I think if people, for example, knew Tim wasn't attending, would not ask for a refund and just would not attend, but it may have given them an opportunity cancel any accommodation/flights they organised. Instead, it has set them up for disappointment. The girl I quoted before "won" the tickets from Tim, but she obviously paid for her flights and accommodation from Newcastle herself.

The whole thing seems really disorganised.

Originally it was promoted as Tim, Tully and Drew. And they all promoted it. Then Mikkaayla was added andshe promoted it. Then Sharon promoted it, and appeared on the poster. Boog promoted it - but didn't appear on the poster. Jade did appear on the poster - but has never made any mention of it (she usually does for charity events). Somemone said Tahan is going - but she isn't on the poster.

I tried looking on their website to see who was actually appearing - but all they showed was the poster and referred to "housemates" ambigously.

Weddings don't just magically happen with a couple of days notice, and Mikk announced several days ago that she was going to the footy tonight. I'm wondering why Tim and Mikk - who were both confirmed as going early on - both suddenly found other things to do.

It is very sad. I believe if people commit to an event - particularly a charity event where they are promoted as being there, they should have an extremely good reason for bailing. Both Tim and Mikayla tweeted that they were attending at some stage, or retweeted the event. I'm not sure about Jade.

and the HM's were tweeting for people to buy discount tickets using a code which was their name, for that reason I believe those HM's were committed to the event
