Frocks, Frolics and Fotos

What a fabulous detective you are Daltrim. How odd. And how convenient, just as long as they keep the trashy photos coming with no copyright bars.
Now if they can just provide Aussies with a filter for all the Brits I have never heard of - all those girl bands, shitty aristocrats - unless they appear semi naked that was a good laugh, and soap & RTV nobodies, shits me skimming past all that crap.

And do you know what - the universe is shifting, the world is looking at us much, much more. Our economy when everyone else is going broke made a few change tack.
Everyone wants to flog their stuff here now, including drug lords.

And UK journos are really checking out our music much more.

Edit
Confirmed in SMH, they want our money

''We are the only OECD country without a recession in 22 years,'' he said.

''In terms of the ease of doing business, we are ranked number three in the world ranking of economic freedom, behind only the island states of Hong Kong and Singapore,'' he told the US-Australia dialogue.

Yes ^ we are evidently to blame also for the share price going down for Asos, in the UK also.

......Only last year online British retailer Asos was one of the hottest fashion brands in the country, underlined by the fact that it was flying nearly four jumbo jets full of clothing into Australia each week, but the weaker Australian dollar has dulled interest in its wares, with sales to the region sinking fast in the final months of 2013.

....Asos said overnight that growth had spluttered in its two key overseas markets, Australia and the US, sending its shares down 6.1 per cent in London on Tuesday after the online retailer posted its sales figures for the first four months of fiscal 2014.

.... Asos founder and CEO Nick Robertson is reported to have told the British press that rest of the world segment was being dragged down by Australia.

OMG that is hilarious, 4 jumbos a week :)

And I find it very satisfying that we are a like the little kid who grew up cuter, smarter, better than all the older siblings who lost their looks and their money, ha, ha, ha, big raspberry at ya old big countries - you threw away $$$$. And you all throw away products much too cheaply - up prices and stop consuming.

I'm sure the Brits are kicking themselves now that Australia has been revealed to have a lot of mineral wealth.

They have secretly been kicking themselves forever - soggy old UK v Paradise (even if we are a wee bit hot).
Unless your landed gentry, a lot of poms dream of living on Ramsey St.

But they always kept rubbishing us, even coming here in hordes they still mocked and moaned.

But it is very cool to be able to look down our noses at all of the sinking economies.

And as far as poms are concerned - we also run almost all of their artistic institutions. Ballet/opera, and a pile of other stuff, galleries etc, have an Aussie CEO, last time I looked anyway.

Our distance is now attractive, always has been for security and lack of border shit.
Boat people are a tiny, teeny drop in the ocean of what Nth Hemisphere countries are copping with refugees.
Technology - makes us right there now, and we can go nah, nah, nah.

MY DJ - it's fascinating watching as music becomes much more personally managed. And he has his contacts everywhere.

Brynne....get a bra that fits and clothes one or two sizes bigger [please

....

I am very sad and disappointed that so many talented and wonderful Australian Clothing Designers, manufacturers, cutters, machinists, small retail shops ......... are unable to make a $ here now.

But this has always been the case, it is a very hit and miss business.
When I tried to get into design, it was horrible - it was all run by families and you couldn't get a look in, well my friend the wonderful qualified cutter/designer and I had jobs in the stock room.
2 other qualified designers, working shit jobs.

And the Mrs and daughter, no training and no taste, got us all copying shit from the UK and everywhere.

Designers here need to be very clever and savvy business wise because of the small market.

Our fashion and design businesses are still heaps better off now than back then due to technology.
