I almost missed this if it weren't for sparrows post. I miss Tahan.

Edit: went to tahans instagram and there is a video of her holding a monkey. It's adorable.

Like I said, I could be totally wrong and they may have split up although I highly doubt it or he could show up tomorrow (again I don't think so). I think we just took something and ran with it as we're wont to do at times in here although to our credit we usually get it way more right than wrong. And I think they probably would ideally love to spend NYE together or even every day if they could but we also need to keep in mind this hasn't been some epic long-term relationship. It's very new.

I also think people often jump to the negative side instead of trying to see it in another light. They've been together most weeks that she doesn't have Luna. This just happened to be one that she does and so she came to Melbourne before Xmas to spend time with him and then went back to then spend the holidays with her family/take care of Luna. He then spent time with family and friends for the holidays and he has two best mates in town who now live overseas. We didn't know that they'd be here when she first tweeted or even that she'd have Luna this week but now that we do, it just all makes sense to me. For all we know they could be on the phone/Facetiming 24/7 and might even be at midnight tomorrow for their own little NYE as many long distance couples have to do. I just think that being apart doesn't equate to not wanting to be together if circumstances allowed it, especially when there are so many possible factors at play and it's not like we're friends with either of them so are privy to what's actually going on or at least could ask them. I still stick by that those two are head over heels for each other... it'd take something massive to split them up and if they do, we'd know without question based on how Tully is on social media. I mean, she wrote a flippin open letter to Tahlia ffs so I can't see her keeping quiet about breaking up with Drew.

LOL!! If it's any consolation I had a massive wtf was I thinking moment earlier tonight when I was going through her posts to see why we thought they were going to be together/what she did for NYE in previous years. After seeing these two I was like how on Earth did I ever wonder if she was going to spend Xmas in Melbourne? Of course she wasn't going to spend Xmas away from her family, especially her dad, this year if ever. I felt like a bit of a fool for even questioning it actually.

27 years of marriage, 10 of those mum has suffered from Early Onset Alzheimer's. That right there is unwavering love. ❤ My dad is amazing. #alzheimersawareness

It is heartbreakingly beautiful and just so bloody unfair. Thinking of her and her family on Christmas Day, it was just the four of them with no extended family to be seen (if they even have any). I can only imagine the toll this has taken on each of them and Tully in a unique way being the only female. And again I feel rather silly for ever speculating that maybe she'd drop everything and move to Melbourne. It actually really makes me want to go back and rewatch her time on BB keeping in mind where her feelings of never being loved as much as she loves others and the clinginess might be coming from. I'm not excusing any of her behaviour and I own that my friends and I actively tried to get her out of the house but I think I'd have a new understanding or at least empathy towards some of her behaviour now that we've gotten to know her more on the outside.

Cannot believe we're already organising NYE plans and Xmas hasn't already happened! Where has the year gone? Oh...wait.

At the time people assumed that she meant "we're" as in her, Drew and possibly Tim. Yet none of the three ever confirmed they were spending NYE together from what I recall. I think that conclusion was jumped to because the three of them were in Sydney at the time when in fact it looks like she was referring to her friends.

Two years ago (bear with me here for a moment) Tully tweeted:

So! Who has some pimping beach house they want to rent me for NYE? Apparently we were not original in our "lets go camping" idea...


Last year her and Tahlia (and maybe some friends) spent NYE at Seal Rocks (3hrs away from Sydney for those not from here). This year Tahlia is back there again. Obviously Tully wasn't going to go so I think her and her friends went back to the beach house idea again. Tully was never going to come to Melbourne on a week that she has Luna - I think hell would freeze over first - and especially not with Tahlia away as considering the circumstances surrounding the split, I don't think she'd really ask Tahlia to have Luna during her week so she could spend time with her new boyfriend. So she was always going to be in NSW and we had zero confirmation that Drew would join her. We just assumed he would but thinking about it more, I don't think it was ever their plan. It seems she usually spends NYE out of Sydney in a beach environment. Plus more importantly, I'm pretty sure Sam and Libby are still in town from Bali and so even ignoring the possible money issue and Tully's friends, why would we expect him to leave Melbourne for NYE? I don't even think Tully would expect that of him.

*disclaimer: For all I know he could show up at the beach house tomorrow but I suspect even if he were offered a free flight he wouldn't. The circumstances just don't add up. I really think we're the ones who took one tweet and ran with it and now that's added to some people's expectations, disappointment and worry that this is a sign they've broken up when in actuality no couple of less than 2 months should have any of this expected of them. Just my opinion anyway. :)

Not sure I've "made anything wrong" other than a few botched baking jobs and an apron in Home Economics over the years. But if you have the next 19 or so hours I could go back from the age of 4 and give you a detailed list of things I've guessed wrong if you're interested! First one was that the Easter Bunny would bring me the 10 pound chocolate egg I saw at Harrods. Never got it = wrong guess. Considering I'm now in my 30s you might not like what you have to hear on the rest of my list and I can't guarantee it'll only take 19 hours though. Or maybe you want to go first? ;)

Annnnnnndddd now I'm crying. What an absolute sweetheart. I just want to give him a hug.

I won't lie, it does make me wonder what his reaction would have been to Tully's whole cheating thing though when he saw it. Would he have understood knowing Tully's need for affection? Or would he have been disappointed she took that route given how loving and faithful he appears to have been with her mum through so many years of this? I bet anything if Tully was worried about any kind of scrutiny or letting anyone down with this it was her dad.

I just feel really emotional after seeing that letter because I know how difficult it would be to remain so loving and faithful through such a drawn out illness. When my aunty was dying of cancer (she was only in her 40s) her husband was off cheating on her. I remember being younger when it happened thinking it was the lowest thing I'd ever heard, but yet a few people in my family understood given what he was going through. He died of cancer young himself, but some members of my family did remain in contact with him before that. My aunt was only really sick for a year before she died, Tully's mother has had this for 10 years. I guess that's why I'm so amazed and so emotional seeing that letter and that apparent unwavering devotion from her dad. He could just run when things got really tough, and there would be people that understood given his situation. Incredible person.

Tim's announcement is that he is taking Ben to both Graceland and the jungles of South America and will take cameras and film it. Would rather it be a Tim and Drew trip, but oh well, watching Tim make Ben's trip a living hell will be pretty entertaining :D

I'm really disappointed Drew isn't involved in this. I know this might be an unpopular opinion but I never bought the friendship between Tim and Ben. To me it just never came off as genuine in comparison to Tim and Drew's friendship.

I suppose I'm happy though as long as some of them are back on the TV for this. I just wish Drew was there too (at least for the South American part).

Prediction...By the end of the trip Tim and Ben will absolutely hate e/o...I think Tim would be fun for a day or 2 but he pretty much annoyed everyone in the house at one pt or another...

Think of the crazy pranks he will do to Ben..

Should have brought Drew on both...I think the 3 of them would have been interesting. (And in the live feed clips and the show I saw drew/Ben seemed to have a more natural repore...as do Tim/drew)

I actually got the feeling for pretty much the entire series that Ben genuinely couldn't stand Tim. The bitter anger that came out sometimes when Tim wouldn't get off his case and a couple of times in noms really seemed like how you just crack sometimes after holding onto so much pent up anger. I'm probably completely wrong. They do seem to be getting along now but at the same time Ben probably knows that Tim is his ticket to get back on TV (Graceland was his idea after all) so obviously he's going to keep any hostility to himself.

Either way I would have brought Drew too.
