You're basically right but the chaperones are quite lacking. Teens travel there on their own but the police and councils do try to control it and make everything as safe as possible for the kids though. But yeah, one big piss up/sexfest or teens.

It's not chaperoned. It takes place after the end of Year 12 which is the final year for high school students. 18 is the legal drinking age but many school leavers are only 17…needless to say it's often very messy because it is Spring Break, but the participants are younger.

Not chaperoned at all. Basically year 12 kids who fuck off on holiday after they finish their final exams to get on the piss and just generally act like the silly teenagers they are. The Gold Coast, Byron Bay and other various coastal towns in all states are popular places to go. They get so rowdy and stupid that they try to do more events and such now to try and keep the buggers under control somewhat; making them register and stuff to stop them all killing themselves through their own stupidity. They're all on a high because they are done with school, all legal and away from their parents or any responsible adults. I had a blast, it's like one giant teen party in public. Most of them won't be sober for the entire week.

The year 12 kids' celebrating the end of their school years......and boy do they celebrate!!. About 30,000 over 3 weeks .........no chaperones but many adult volunteers to 'pick up the pieces' and lend a helping hand for anyone who needs it.
 
lol - that's 2 for me ... FIFO'd and BBMumbaiHQ ... if not by anything else I've left my mark here :D

I'm sure that's exactly how he wants it. Now that big brother is over, maybe Tim will try to puppet master himself into Bindi Irwin's heart. *conspiracy: the reason Tim hasn't 'met' Bindi on the outside is because they're actually already in a relationship and trying to keep it on the down-low #aretheyarentthey (sarcasm, in case nobody picked up :P)
