Awesome! Figured it out from this post and found the YT channel. Thank you!

Can I have the link too please? I wouldn't mind watching the first season again, I'll always regard that as the best because they had no idea if anyone was even watching this crazy idea for a tv show, and it was a whole different game where no one had come before them!

Off to look up who was on Season 3 and why it was regarded as the best .. I can't remember!

Eta - ah yes, Reggie and Chrissie!

And here is Big Brother Australia 2001 Season 1 Episode 1 :)

Yeah it's YouTube but I was led to believe even that wasn't allowed?

I don't want to make Kingston mad. :p

I think you're allowed to say the name of the user on YouTube who posted them, aren't you?

I believe so.

I think what's not allowed is direct linking or mentioning of actual download sources (like private Torrent sites, etc). :)

To be safe lets keep all sharing to private messages... Links to clips are allowed but not full episodes...

Hi,

I would like to ask a question, but I didn't know where to post it and not be off-topic, so apologies for posting it here.
This is my second year watching BBAU, and I absolutely love it. Having watched every year of BBUK and the last two BBAU, this has been my favourite series ever.

So I decided to watch earlier BBAU series, and after reading others opinions, have started watching the 2007 series.
In it you have both vote to evict, and vote to save. This has never been done here, and I quite liked the idea.
Having watched the first eviction, I'm undecided whether it's good or bad. What do others think? Was it used through many series? I prefer vote to save over vote to evict. In the UK, vote to evict has got rid of the real characters. We have had both vote to evict and vote to save here, and each has it's supporters. I really thought the combination might be perfect, but as you no longer do it - probably not?
I would love to know how many series it was used? Thanks!

I loved it at the time because I liked the choice, but I'm sold on vote-to-save being better for the show now. From memory, I think more evict votes were cast than save votes(?), so it still had the same problem of getting rid of the big characters.

The combined system was used in both series 6 and 7 according to Wikipedia:

Big Brother 2006 featured several innovations to the formula.

Voting format

In previous series of Big Brother Australia, viewers could only vote to evict the nominated housemates they wanted to leave the house. Big Brother 2006 added the save vote. Any viewer may cast as many evict or save votes as they choose. Prior to eviction each housemates' save votes were merged with their evict votes; the housemate with the highest number of evict votes – or lowest number of save votes – remaining after the merge is evicted.

Hi Pecan. Thanks for that! I can see why it didn't work if vote to evict dominated the voting. As you say, the bigger characters would still be lost. It sounded like a great idea in theory, and I like that it was tried. Certainly, I think most of us here in the UK prefer vote to save. I really appreciate your thoughts on this. It seemed like a really good idea too! :D

At the risk of getting into trouble ( it would be so much simpler to add the YouTube channel link). Type "big brother adults only" into Youtube search box. Click on channel name of one of first few videos listed. The channel name should include the word "full". Go to the channel playlists. Should see all Australian and UK episodes from 2000 to current. see you in a few months (after you watched them all.)
