Ed is a walking, talking definition of psychological projection if ever I saw one. Every negative thing about himself, he pins on others:
*Calling Tim & Drew boring
*Accusing Tim of treating women badly
*Accusing others of creating a divide in the house
*Saying that Tim and Drew are 'trying to portray him as a bad person'
*Accusing Tim et al of being manipulative
*Thinking that Tim is gunning for him and wants him gone
*Thinking that Tim is threatened/intimidated by him
*Accusing Tim of being a disloyal, "terrible" friend
Surprise surprise, said projection is typically caused by hiding/repressing/not admitting to opinions, thoughts and feelings..feeling the need to put on a façade and not 'be yourself'...inability to accept one's own shortcomings. In short, Ed is every bit the fake, arrogant, deluded prick many of us believe him to be, and has been emotionally constipated for the entirety of the series.
A lot of those points I could probably apply in reverse and say Tim thinks the same. Tim has had many rants about Ed also. Not saying that Ed might not be a bit uptight at all about Tims manipulating, i just think editing plays into it and don't trust it fully that he is as one dimensional as made out.
*Tim calls Ed boring
*Not sure about this whole treating women badly business
*Tim accused 4 people of creating the divide. Everyone but him or his sheep
*Tim says Ed is trying to portray him as a bad person
*Tim accuses Ed of manipulating others (pretty sure he has said on occasion that Ed has this thing against him and is trying to make others believe into it)
*Tim probably thinks Ed wants him gone
*Tim probably thinks Ed is threatened by him
*Tim has accused Ed of being disloyal. One thing comes to mind, he mocked Ed for nominating Jade.
Every HM has thought that Tim was a manipulator from very early. Remember the whole mutiny thing. We all know he is. Ed is not alone and thinking that does not make him crazy. Just means he is not going to play into Tims shit stirring. It's obviously not the way he wants to play, being fake and pretending that Tim isn't manipulating a lot of the time, when he is.
Even Tim's best mate Drew just said he doesn't trust Tim in the house. And Tim said he is no longer sure about Drew and thinks Drew might have been using him (because he strong) to get further in the game. Everyone is suspect of everyone, that's the game. And editing obviously distorts our perception of characters, like mainly showing a few little clips from hours worth of footage of just one trait of someones personality can make them appear one dimesional.
Tim definitely has been after Ed in the house. Not just him by any means. But definitely has. After just seeing an ep with Justin it's plain as day that Tim was targeting Ed and using Justin to do the dirty work. Tim planned with Justin how they could knock Ed down at the family dinner. Tim told Justin all Ed buttons to push: make fun of Jade being a dumb blonde bimbo like not knowing her own country flag, call Ed a jock, tell him he put on weight.
Tim was scheming with Justin to bring Ed down, and then he randomly dropped a comment to Ed and Drew that Justin was a nightmare before walking off. Ed told Drew that he's skeptical of Tim saying something like that. Drew said bullshit and also said to watch out for Justin as much as you watch out for Tim. Ed was correct to not buy into Tim. Drew knew for sure because Tim had already said he was loving Justin, and heard Tim and Justin scheming about how to bring ed down. Tim even told BB that everyone was warning him about getting caught in Justins tornado but admitted he was the one spinning it. It's easy for me to see why Ed has would have a guard up against Tim and not want to fall into his web of lies and scheming.
