Tim is BBAU version of Survivors Rob Cesternino

Inigo Montoya

The New Dread Pirate Roberts.
I've been thinking about Tim alot lately and In my mind I feel as thought he has changed how people in future season of BB will play the game just like Rob Cesternino did in survivor the Amazon. Yes I understand BBAU is nothing like survivor but there are still similarities.

Rob was the first person in survivor to flip flop between alliances up until his season everyone stuck to their alliances and one tribe would pagong the other tribe after the merge. Tim has said that he will turn on his friends to win the game and has also said that he did not want one group to run the game.

Tim has been a huge character on the show this year. I believe he is the narrator of the season just like Rob was in the Amazon. Rob would always have very funny confessional just like how Tim has very funny DR session. Rob understood that during a confessional you needed to provide production with an interesting short sound bite that could be used on the show. Tim has had the best one lines of any season of BBAU. My favourite is when he was talking about Ed saying that he didn't even water his grass when talking about Jade.

Then there is Tahan/Jenna similarities both girls were/are considered mean girls and are models. And both started out the game not being aligned with their counterparts but now Tahan and Tim are close and Jenna and Rob formed an alliance towards the end. Even though rob voted out Jenna and his alliance member Alex they had a few arguments but they managed to both come together when it was needed and make it to the final 3. Tim and Tahan have also fought at times but have found themselves in an alliance/friendship at the end of the game.

Does anyone agree with me on this?

I have no idea to whom you are referring but I shall agree nonetheless because I'm nice like that. :D

OH thanks. You need to be a crazy survivor fan like myself to understand. But basically Rob was the first player in Survivor to play what is considered the modern way of playing the game.

I don't remember Cesternino, but Boston Rob...hands down best player in the history of any reality game show ever! Best strategist, tough, influenced each and every player, and met his wife Amber on survivor and they've been together ever since. The only other player who I feel can take him on is Dr. Will from BBUS!

The extent of my survivor knowledge is the occasional perve. :p From your description though I can see the similarities.

I really don't want to get into a who is the better survivor player argument because those can go around in circles. But Boston Rob voted out Rob Cesternino in All Start because he was threatened by him. Rob C understood how to maximize camera time during the Amazon. I had listened to the survivor historians podcast and it was said that rob was practice his confessional before he actually had to do them.

I agree. Boston Rob was the best ever Survivor player. God I loved that guy. He was smart, cunning, charismatic and good looking to boot. Rob knew it was a game and played it so well. I remember when he won........my heart was racing, jumping up and down and fist pumping. He was THE Puppet Master.

Tim also has seen BB for what it is....a game. You have to outwit, outplay n outlast ur HMs. Diary Room chats is where he connects with the viewers. Totally agree with his one liners........very funny, outrageous and true.

Thanks for the link. for some reason still drawing a blank, so I shall have to "agree with Fezzik"

I think next year the HMs are going to be trying to live up to the high standard that Tim has set with his DR session. Who know if casting will be able to find the next Tim.

Tim has said that he didn't want 1 group to control the game. Why? I know as a viewer of BB and Survivor I hate it when one alliance control the game it makes really boring TV.

Totally agree. Like last year.....that pissed me off. A core group of HMs just picked off who wasn't deemed worthy. I mean seriously how boring and bitchy was BB last year in the last few weeks. I think Tim has played a smart game.

I don't want another Tim next year. But I do want someone who is playing the game hard and having fun with it.

Yes this please no more Eds and Jade types who can't separate friendships and the game. I really think that Tim does consider Jade a friend but in BB eventually everyone has to nominate people who they consider their friends.

I dont agree

It was suppose to be Jenna, Heidi, Alex and Rob in a 4 vs 3 vote in the final 7.
Rob shifted because Alex was so stupid in telling Rob what he was going to vote him off when they got down to the final 4.
WHAT A FUCKING IDIOT! Rob moved because he was forced to. If Alex said nothing, Rob would of came in 4th place. No game changing move.
There was no alliance between Jenna and Rob following his shift in voting Alex off because she couldnt trust him anymore.
Tahan and Tim have gotten better as the game has gone on while Jenna and Rob got worse.

Following this there was a 3 man alliance in the final 4 after Heidi's eviction and Jenna.
Rob voted out Heidi NOT JENNA in the final 5 because she was much stronger.
She had to win last 2 immunity challenges or she would have been voted off because of the 3man alliance.
The problem was Jenna was definitely going to get both Heidi and Alex votes no matter what and very likely Christie.
This meant whoever went up against her had to get remaining 4 votes so it was not smart to take her to the final.
In the final immunity challenge, Matthew fell off deliberately knowing that whoever won the last one between Jenna or Rob would take him into the final 2 as he was the weakest out of the 3 and that he expected revenge by getting their vote from the non-immunity winner in not taking them.
Matthew didnt get Rob's vote even though he seemed sure. LOL.
Either way, Matthew just didnt do as much as either Jenna or Rob so he wouldnt of won against either so understandable that he threw the last immunity.

Rob was forced to move. Tim wasnt forced to move. Thats the difference.
When your not forced to move, its a much bigger deal.
Rob fucked his friendship with Jenna following his vote of Alex. Tim hasnt thrashed his friendship with Tahan yet and unlikely to either.
Tim and Tahan promised each other following Ben's vote that if one of them doesnt win, they want the other to.
There is a respect between Tim and Tahan late in the game while there wasnt between Jenna and Rob until after.

You are right. It's been a while since I've watched Amazon. I was just trying to make comparisons to Tim and Rob.

Like I said BBAU is not Survivor people do not vote out other people. So Tim will never be forced to move against Tahan. Yes Rob had to vote out Alex he really didn't have a choice after Alex fucked up.

During the final tribal council Heidi asked some thing like who is the best player sitting on the jury and both Jenna and Matt answered Rob that tells me that yes Jenna may have had problems with Rob after the Alex vote but they did join forces in voting out Christy. And Jenna had respect for Rob. Just like Tim and Tahan do.

In the final council, you have to act all nice and polite so i dont take what they say seriously because they have an agenda.
People would apologise for shit they dont care about. $1m is a big incentive.
But saying that, Rob was the best player in that season voted out with a huge assist by Alex so she did give respect after he was voted off.
I didnt see it much when he was still in the game with her.

Christy eviction was interesting. They could have forced a 3-3 vote but didnt.
Jenna and Heidi didnt have a choice so dont know if I would classify that as joining force, just say it was beneficial for them.
They didnt connect much after that vote.

The respect is much stronger between Tahan and Tim compared to what they had.
Following Alex's eviction, Jenna didnt really care so much about the game while Tahan is always motivated apart from some sooks in the DR.
Completely different situation I know living in crappy conditions compared to a luxury house.

I was just thinking this as I was reading your post. LOL.

Yes perhaps the Jenna and Tahan comparison is not a big as I first thought but they are similar in their personalities I believe.

But you can't deny that Rob was the star of Amazon just as in my opinion Tim is the star of BB 2013.

Next year I except people to copy some of Tim tactics that he used this year. Whether they manage to do this successfully I could not tell you.

But thanks for clearing up some of my misconceptions about Survivor Amazon. Now I really wish all the survivor seasons were still on YouTube. So I could do a re watch.

Jenna made the show for me more than Rob.

Rob had the alliances in his favour though didnt make the finals. One forced move meh.

Oh man, you are so right! I have only ever watched one season of Survivor and it just happens to be the one you're talking about - the main reason I stuck with it was because of Rob. He was SO entertaining and hilarious. I can definitely see the similarities with Tim.

I will say, however, that I think Tim is a little less ruthless and a bit more genuine. As you said, it was rumoured Rob "practiced" his "confessions" before going on camera whereas I think a lot of Tim's stuff is just stream of consciousness rants. I think the very nature of BB (the cameras being around 24/7 etc) means it forces the HMs to be themselves more than the Survivor guys.
