TIM-ED argument transcript...and WHY did it start?

I happen to be at Ed's side of that argument, he hardly did anything and got called an idiot for it. Then he gets told that he needs to chill out? And going further he can't even get a word in getting cut off at every turn for the little that he has to say. Overbearing Tim!
This is exactly how I heard the argument too!
I am not a fan of Ed's at all but Tim really lost points with me in this argument. He acted exactly like nasty people I have met who prod and poke and needle their target of choice until the target finally says "enough" then they turn on them, make fun of them, laugh at them, speak over the top of them and generally run rings around them verbally leaving the target feeling worse for having stood up for themselves than they did beforehand.

wow, i'm a fan of tim and want ed to go as much as the next guy, but I saw that completely differently.
first, sure, ed was a bit childish to get up in arms about tim's name calling, but tim did decide to go with the personal insult.
but second, tim picked the fight. sure, it was probably calculated, but he has to wear that for starting it.
then, third, tim throws out "you hurt my feelings, that's why i called you an idiot" - ok, look, who's the pussy? i mean, yeah, tim only said that because he had no ground to stand on with his personal insult, so he tried to play victim. ed should have called him on it - and it's a shame he didn't. but that doesn't relieve time of playing the victim
which, fourth, he tries to take back later with "you don't intimidate me" - yeah, right, that's why you had that little tanty earlier and called him an idiot?
no, it's very clear ed does get under tim's skin, and tim is losing his self-control about it. sure, he's winning some childish arguments, but he's coming out of it looking like a petulant child himself - and that can't be good for fence-sitting voters.
bottom line is, even if you like tim, you have to see that he's breaking a key rule (tim brunero's rules) of winning big brother - if you start a fight, you have to end it magnanimously.
the fact that tim couldn't shows that ed has his number - even if ed is too lame to do anything with it.
I also suspect it is possible that Ed does threaten Tim as far as in the game and popularity with voters.
Last week in the kitchen with Tahan he was wondering if the public would be over the Jade and Ed romance yet. We saw how excited he was at having Justynn take a crack at Ed.
After seeing the percentages and with Ben going home he could be easily wondering if Ed was at the top because of Jade. I mean Matt and Caleb left but if Ed can beat Ben then just how popular is he?
It would explain why he gave both Jade and Mikkayla nomination points this week instead of Ed. They were not up last week so neither could be the 30%. He could not have known he would not be on the block.
Previously he has giving more nomination points to Ed (11) than to any other hg with Tully (9) being a close second.

I think all Tim did is call Ed an idiot and thick. I also think Ed may have an insecurity of some sorts re intelligence because he took great offence to being called an idiot in front of the group.
I don't think it's so much insecurity (okay, maybe a little given the body language between them and Ed walking away whilst talking and not being able to look Tim in the face), but Ed coming from a sports management background is probably using his experience in the field to avoid having his perceived image/reputation tarnished at any cost.
No doubt he would be well versed in covering up the antics of sports players and keeping their images clean. So basically with Tim he's doing what he does on the job - misdirecting away the accusations Tim has made and cutting him off/covering his hands over his ears screaming "NA NA NA NA NA NA NA!!! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!"

Sorry, guys, just made account so I could reply to this topic.
phatbeats33 and Winterbourne, thank you both for posting the transcription here and for actually using it! That was what I had honestly hoped people would use it for when I transcribed it.
There were so many people bickering back and forth about who cut who off, who started it and why, who got a clearer point across, etc.
SO good to see some rational analysis and debate going on here about it.
If I had a hat, I'd tip it to you.

Agreed. I loved Tim and hated Ed. (Still don't like Ed) but I'm over Tim. He went from being funny to being like a spoiled child. I just see him as a small bratty child now. First this Ed thing then with Mikkayla. (Who I also did not like as much as Tim) I'm over it.
Tim comes up with the LAMEST lies when he finally answers something after spinning the conversation in circles.

Pretty simple. It all started because ed is absolutely obsessed with tim. Everything tummy does, as innocent as it may be, ed sees an anterior motive. Drew hit the nail on the head with his "beautiful mind" theory.
Tim lost it because it would be hard to live in such small confines with an unintelligent, paranoid know-it-all on your case. Don't lame him, struggled not to refer to ed as an idiot myself then haha!

Definitely disagree with this one. I have experience in sports management and one of the first things you learn on the PR side of things is you have to Know WHEN to dismiss issues and when to confront them and vehemently defend the fact that your point of view is the right one. An issue that is aired to the country on national tv in prime time is an issue that requires solving, the 'hands on ears' trick would be foolish. I think if he WERE using his professional skills he would have stood confidently, argued in a positive way touching on good personal attributes before calming tim by mentioning HIS positive personal traits. Last step, after tim has acknowledged the compliments; show how tim used his good traits to evoke a negative feeling.
In saying all this, I like tim. I'm glad he made ed look like a fish out of water, bulging eyes and gasping for air.
I don't know ed, but I think at times he's a couple of sandwiches sort of a picnic.
