Time to go........ Mikkayla

I maybe wrong here but the time I noticed when Mikkayla started to hate on Tahan was the time when the housemates were having a "Truth session?" on the island bench and Tahan revealed to all the housemates the reason she saved Mikkayla is due to that she think she could beat Mikkayla when it comes to the finals of Big Brother, I remember Mikkayla was taken aback by that response by Tahan as Mikkayla probably mistaken that Tahan saved Mikkayla out of friendship.

I think it might've also been when Mikkayla chose to save herself and put Matt up. That's when Matt Tully and tahan really started to turn on her. Before that I think tahan and mikk got along reasonably well.

I'm not sure why you think my examples are biased? I was completely neutral at the start...I observed housemates behaviors...I noted patterns of behavior, deviations and circumstances around deviations... I took into account that editing may introduce bias...I drew upon my formal education and life experiences with people (academic, personal and professional)...and I came to the conclusion that Mikkayla is not a nice person. She is calculating and has a mean streak that aims to hurt other people.

To date I have been wrong about VERY few people in my life, and those who know me, get that I have great instinct and the ability to be fully impartial. As I'm not writing an academic paper, I provided the Blink example to provide a quick reference for the term micro-expression.

I don't mind healthy and respectful debates, but let's not forget that eons before the term "scientific evidence" was coined, humans survived on instinct and observation. ...Ask any millionaire/billionaire and they will tell you they use their gut instinct a lot in assessing new people and business opportunities.

p.s. Journalists are capable of conducting research from various disciplines and presenting them to the reader for their own analysis. (I'll acknowledge that there is a lot of shoddy journalism these days but still...)

You have not met these people in person & have seen only selected pieces of information often without any surrounding context & usually with the intent to portray that person as a certain character. In any situation like that you can choose to interpret things in a multitude of ways. To say you have good "gut instincts" in real life is pretty useless with a contrived tv situation, but obviously you are free to go with whatever you feel. I too often have a good read on people I meet but I just don't find that to be applicable in this situation where we get a strange combination of superficial & selectively biased attempts to provide more depth. I can see different & obvious interpretations for just about any scenario. We will all choose to make our own similarly biased decisions based on our own life experiences. Is Mikkayla bossy? I would say yes, but I don't see it as being mean - I think she just likes things organized & under control. Was she inappropriate with Justynn? I would say no - he came in with an agenda to rile her up & he got what he deserved. Is she possessive over Mr Clooney - yes-she's bonded with him & vice-versa-we all get protective over our pets & kids. Is she
possessive" of the kitchen? Not really - she is the primary cook, but we've seen plenty of others "allowed" to cook & the others seem mostly happy to let her do it (I would be too since I hate to cook). She obviously likes things neat & clean & it bugs her that some people don't clean up after themselves (I would be annoyed too at times). Can she be bitchy & mean at times?-yes. so have they all. Can she be funny & kind? Yes, so have they all at times. Is she nasty & vile? No way - she is playing a game just like the rest of them & if you were to ask the HMs who have been with her 24/7 for weeks on end, I doubt a single one would tell you she is, including her "enemy" Tahan. She seems to have times when she is focused on the game & some of the less desirable characteristics come out & times when she forgets that & then shows herself to be kind, sympathetic, caring, & helpful. But that's just my opinion based on what I have seen & my years of "formal education and life experiences with people (academic, personal and professional)". This is a tv show where we are asked to form opinions based on what we are shown - we will come to our own conclusions which is as it should be - it would be no fun if everyone liked/disliked the same people. I just don't care for the OTT hate.

I have to re quote this :)

To be fair, I wasn't anti-anyone until the show was well underway and we had a chance to get to know everyone better.

Mikkayla gives off a very bubbly, happy, friendly vibe...on the surface. However, if you pay attention to her micro-expressions, whenever someone else is in the spotlight (specifically arch enemy Tahan), her smile fades from the big display of teeth to something more sombre, or disappears completely and is replaced by a very sour and sometimes cold hard stare. (Micro expressions are facial expressions that happen in a split second and can be easily missed if not paying attention. those who have read the book "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell, or are a detective or psychoanalyst will understand)

When Jade told Mikkayla that Ed had left her his shorts before going into prez zuite, Mikk's face clearly showed she wasn't pleased because earlier she had tried to make Jade look like a fool by encouraging her to leave the bracelet under his pillow then tattling to Ed. (Remember Jade is supposedly her friend)
Today's episode, EVERYONE including the boys cried during Nathan's speech. Mikkayla on the other hand had a cold hard expression on her face because she wasn't expecting this, and I could literally see the gears turning in her head trying to figure out her next move. Mikkayla voted for Maddie to stay for strategic reasons, but I promise you she is more secure having Boog around.
The way she's possessive about Mr. Clooney and the kitchen is sooo immature. Making Justynn feel unwelcome by practically yelling at him about how the shopping task is set in stone and no room for changes was appalling. She told the told the sugar sisters she didn't mind them being in the kitchen with her, but the others (Ben) were annoying. Then came the cold hard stare reflected in the mirror as she washed dishes.
Every time Tahan has been saved, voted prettiest, etc. etc. Mikks face drops. The opposite is true whenever Tahan is nominated.
Mikkayla has encouraged Tim and others to stir up trouble in the house that is not of the fun, mischievous kind.
Now that Tully has left, Mikkayla has replaced her as the fake crier when a housemate is voted out.

There are many other examples, but I just can't think of them. I'm hoping that someone can put an objective compilation together of her and Tahan.

I would also like to tell myself to 'get a life' because I am just way too invested in this show lol

Yes and yes!

Same, I tried. Boog is not stupid :) I like them all mischievous tonight. It reminded me of the old BB on 10, when they did things like that at night. It was really funny. That is what I am missing in BB now. The natural behavior.

Yes, I missed it too. I'm so glad that tahan has girls in the house that do like her. I feel like she can be herself more and feels she can enjoy her time there knowing that others also want to partake in some fun. It reminded me of the first time she entered bb and tried to go in the spa. She just can't help herself. Her, Tim, drew, boog, Madaline brought the old days I miss. Even Ben joined in.

Did Ben eat the pizza with meat

No I don't think so. But he went out there for some fun. He got bored of ed talking I guess

I didn't even realise you know. Oh dear! Ben ate meat!

I did because I am vegetarian too. I hope he will never find out. Once I bought a frozen meal and not seen it had chicken in it. I only ate a bit, but I will never forget, I still feel dreadful about it when I think of it.

Oh he will be pretty devastated. I went vegetarian for two years once, took me a whole month before my body accepted meat again. It was hard work too and take away and quick to eat meals was difficult to find. I praise all of you vegetarians.

It is easy for me to be vegetarian. It is not different if the meat comes from a human or animal, to me it comes from a cadaver. I just can't eat something that once was alive

Your examples are no different than the previous one in that they are biased in their interpretation. With regard to micro-expressions:
Malcolm Gladwell is a journalist, not a trained psychologist/behavioural analyst - the validity of micro-expressions has not been supported by research & is further confounded by the question of cultural/racial differences. Here is one article:
http://behaviorinsight.com/2011/06/24/the-truth-about-microexpressions/. There are many more & it is a ongoing area of research - I have participated in studies that required me to code facial expressions & it is not nearly as straight forward as you might think. The vast majority of people touting their validity are people trying to sell a service to the police, etc. which makes it questionable in itself. Additionally, it would take someone highly trained in the field to attempt this anyway. It might be nice to think we can "read" people this way, but it's so unreliable as to be useless.

There is an entire department in the psychology department at Yale University where studies are conducted and proven.
Read Emotional Intelligence: Why it Can Matter More than IQ

People who are able to read 30+ micro-expressions were considered good at it...the subconscious reveals/removes the mask in a split second until the person realizes the truth shows and reals it back in to what is "the correct/expected response"...many people are "sensitive" and can read emotions, voice inflections, eye movements... especially when your livelihood depends on it...just my nickel's worth cheers

I am not saying there is no truth to any of it or that there are no studies to support it, merely that the evidence is conflicting & highly confounded due to cultural & racial differences. Mikkayla is Asian & most of the people making the judgements are not surrounded by people with asian facial features all the time & therefore, have not become as attuned to the differences, complicates it further. Most people think they are way better at judging these facial expressions than they actually are - in studies on emotions most people can pick out 3 or 4 of the major emotions, but not consistently & the various subtle extensions of those emotions are frequently mistaken for the wrong thing. People are themselves inconsistent in how they portray their emotions at any given time. There is also a big difference between being able to study still photos of expressions for a minute or so & making a judgement vs. making a split-second decision in the moment. Just out of curiosity - did you take the test at the link you provided? That test is terribly flawed in that you were given 4 choices most of which could easily be eliminated (much easier than if you were asked to just name the emotion), but it was still kind of fun - I got every single one right, but I can tell you that I am horrible at just naming the emotions - if I had not been given choices I probably would have missed most of them.

@Sent1 - Thank you!

@Psykologist... As far as I know, Mikkayla has been adopted into a Caucasian family and therefore she will not likely display "Asian" expressions as you stated. I would also suggest to you that you've made some judgements about my abilities to analyze human behavior, yet you yourself have formed an opinion on my abilities based on a few posts in this forum (perhaps you thought my avatar was actually a picture of me ;-)

I think that at your core you are an intelligent being. Use your powers for good, and in the words of BB Tim...Lateral Thinking!!!!

Today's episode was ZZzzzzzzzzzzzz..

However, my daily observations...

Mikkayla: Accused Booga of being crass and rude, yet she's openly discussed her sex life, porn and vibrator collection on national TV. I'm sure her family, boyfriend and student's parents are thrilled! Did Mikkayla really intend to serve the salad licked by Mr. Clooney to the housemates without telling them? That's so unhygienic and deceptive!

Booga: I can see how her high energy might start to wear on house mates, but she's a straight shooter and I think Mikkayla has finally met her match. I also think Tim couldn't handle her lol

Ed & Jade relationship: Ed is as transparent as saran wrap. Jade needs to move away from ed and mikk and engage with other housemates. She's a lovely girl, but highly insecure!
