Time to go........ Mikkayla

 • Thread starter Thread starter skyline1990
 • Start date Start date
To be fair, I wasn't anti-anyone until the show was well underway and we had a chance to get to know everyone better.

Mikkayla gives off a very bubbly, happy, friendly vibe...on the surface. However, if you pay attention to her micro-expressions, whenever someone else is in the spotlight (specifically arch enemy Tahan), her smile fades from the big display of teeth to something more sombre, or disappears completely and is replaced by a very sour and sometimes cold hard stare. (Micro expressions are facial expressions that happen in a split second and can be easily missed if not paying attention. those who have read the book "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell, or are a detective or psychoanalyst will understand)

 • When Jade told Mikkayla that Ed had left her his shorts before going into prez zuite, Mikk's face clearly showed she wasn't pleased because earlier she had tried to make Jade look like a fool by encouraging her to leave the bracelet under his pillow then tattling to Ed. (Remember Jade is supposedly her friend)
 • Today's episode, EVERYONE including the boys cried during Nathan's speech. Mikkayla on the other hand had a cold hard expression on her face because she wasn't expecting this, and I could literally see the gears turning in her head trying to figure out her next move. Mikkayla voted for Maddie to stay for strategic reasons, but I promise you she is more secure having Boog around.
 • The way she's possessive about Mr. Clooney and the kitchen is sooo immature. Making Justynn feel unwelcome by practically yelling at him about how the shopping task is set in stone and no room for changes was appalling. She told the told the sugar sisters she didn't mind them being in the kitchen with her, but the others (Ben) were annoying. Then came the cold hard stare reflected in the mirror as she washed dishes.
 • Every time Tahan has been saved, voted prettiest, etc. etc. Mikks face drops. The opposite is true whenever Tahan is nominated.
 • Mikkayla has encouraged Tim and others to stir up trouble in the house that is not of the fun, mischievous kind.
 • Now that Tully has left, Mikkayla has replaced her as the fake crier when a housemate is voted out.

There are many other examples, but I just can't think of them. I'm hoping that someone can put an objective compilation together of her and Tahan.

I would also like to tell myself to 'get a life' because I am just way too invested in this show lol

Your examples are no different than the previous one in that they are biased in their interpretation. With regard to micro-expressions:
Malcolm Gladwell is a journalist, not a trained psychologist/behavioural analyst - the validity of micro-expressions has not been supported by research & is further confounded by the question of cultural/racial differences. Here is one article:
http://behaviorinsight.com/2011/06/24/the-truth-about-microexpressions/. There are many more & it is a ongoing area of research - I have participated in studies that required me to code facial expressions & it is not nearly as straight forward as you might think. The vast majority of people touting their validity are people trying to sell a service to the police, etc. which makes it questionable in itself. Additionally, it would take someone highly trained in the field to attempt this anyway. It might be nice to think we can "read" people this way, but it's so unreliable as to be useless.

I agree with all what you said. This is the way I see Mikkayla. I would love to see her in a better light, but I can't. I have seen her facial expressions too. My dislike for what she is doing didn't come for one thing only, it came little by little. The more I saw of her the more I despised her behavior.

She still could change that negative side of her.

She is so obviously a vindictive, spiteful, jealous person full of self-loathing that is projected onto everyone else around her. She thinks she is the alpha female, the "funny one" and is so controlling and two faced. I cannot stand her these days!! That voice! Her laugh!

What more could you want in a housemate! Geez ya hard to please.

She's someone who was on the more popular side with the girls and so went super mean and nasty with it.

She's someone who was on the more popular side with the girls and so went super mean and nasty with it.

True - she was the self-proclaimed "queen of the misfits" and then got in with the blondes and turned into super bitch!!
Evilroyslade - haha you make me laugh :) Especially with that avatar! Hilars!

I would say only a couple of those are legitimate, the rest is nitpicking. I agree with psykologist, you've just interpreted everything as a negative and everything youve said could be said about a lot of other people in the house. I still don't get the over the top hate for Mikk

As usual, disagree with a lot without explanation.

The problem I have with Mikkayla is she has started to act like its her house - just like she acts like Mr Clooney is her child. This was really clear during the children's party on the weekend and her attitude when she was listening to the intruders talk - it wasn't the attitude of someone listening to a story it was someone listening with an attitude of 'ok you're here....show me why you should stay'. I could overlook the bossiness and the bitchiness, as this is no more than any other housemate has shown, but this possessive attitude gives me the shits!

Anyone else notice that last night when everyone was crying about Nathan. Mik was the only one with out tears?

As usual, disagree with a lot without explanation.

And as usual mavsfan, you continue to ignore parts of my post to suit your agenda. I said Hedgo18s points were largely his interpretation of her behavior which is why i disagreed with a lot. It isnt credible evidence that she is a nasty person because a lot of his points were just him making assumptions about her intentions. Even if you agree with him, his arguments could be made about other people in the house so I don't get the over the top hate for Mikkayla, like I said.

Her behaviour on last nights show was just vile!

Going into the diary room to demand when one of the intruders are leaving and looking gleeful that one will leave the house.

Then saying, that she didn't want Boog to stay because they don't need another funny person in the house, because she is the funny one. Ummmmmmm ok....

She was not happy when Boog stayed at all, while Boog was opening the champagne and laughing and being loud about how she deserved the whole bottle because she got 7-1 votes. Mikkayla totally shut her up and talked over the top to take attention off her.

I love that Boog is staying because I think it's really going to annoy Mikkayla and Jade, as Boog is loud and hangs out with Tim, Drew and Tahan.

It just got interesting again.

This is what I don't like about Mikkayla also the "it's my kitchen, my dog, my rules" attitude. No Mikkayla it's not you are just a housemate like everyone else. Wish Justin had stayed to continue calling her on it the rest of them just back down and give in to her.

There's a reason every houseguest but Jade and the Sugar sisters ended up hating Mikkayla. If you want to delude yourself into thinking she's a good person, that's up to you.

Mikkayla claiming she was a funny one in the house was the only funny thing she's done. I laughed and laughed at thT pronouncement

I know I am biased and I dont deny it.
Of course you disagree with a lot, you like Mikkayla.

Thats like telling your favourite sporting team that they are rubbish.

I will look at the post in question:
You can correct me when Im wrong since you do favour the term 'assumptions' when people talk about Mikkayla and thats about it.

Okay I have had enough of reading your posts everywhere belittling people for not liking mikkayla so here is why I dont like her, lets hope they are "credible" enough.

- Her opening package she mocks herself and says something along the lines of "I know its weird I teach english, all the students say Miss the japanese class is down that way" which is then followed on by mikkayla saying "Herro I am your engrish teacher", great way to stop stereotypes hey?

She wants people not to stereotype her for being 'asian' yet she will do actions that are stereotypical of this ethnic groups.
Its these types of videos that are contributing to her being treated like this on the outside.
Which fellow housemates have done this? Yes, Tim but he does it with everything and everyone so he isnt singling one group out.

- Within the first five minutes of meeting Tahan mikk says "You look like a girl who doesn't eat bread so can I eat yours"

Joke, not harmful. Nothing wrong with that.

- She is notorious for bitching behind peoples backs which is fine, but she always claims to be straight up and honest and if she has something to say she will confront you about it but we are still yet to see it

Every housemate does this, she gets a pass here.

- After tahan had saved mikkayla from eviction the first time she ever so nicely returned the favour by running straight to the sisters and tell them that she called them dumb

Tahan said she would like to keep the girls because she thinks that she can beat them. Its that shes competitive. Oh if I tell my friend I can beat them, they will laugh it off and say we'll see. Not go around to every other friend and say that Im useless and dumb.
She took something small and possibly light-hearted into a agenda. Did this again with the bathroom conversation.

- when her and tahan had the altercation she was saying just as hateful stuff to tahan and then she ran off crying acting like the victim

She mocks people all the time so for to do full on crying in the open is a bit rich.
Did Justynn go have a big sook in the corner because things that didnt go his way? No.

- once she realised that the sisters didnt like tahan she took that as a way to form a clique with them and bring jade into it and then exclude tahan as much as possible and consume most of her time bitching about her

This is happening isnt it? This was Friday's episode. lawl.

- she is the definition of hypocrite

Everyone one there is except maybe Ben. She gets a pass here.

- when jade asked if the bracelet was too much she was quick to say "no of course not babes" and then when she went and told ed she mocked her

She told Jade would do this for her but when it came to Ed, she backed down and agreed with him. Jade asked if its too much and she didnt say yes. Just gives a bad look on Jade that she doesnt listen to her friends and can be delusional.

- her rant on justynn trying to take "her" dog away from her was extremely selfish

Yes she is taking care of the dog but it doesnt mean that Justynn isnt allowed to.

- "we have a system and it works"

Just because a system works, doesnt mean if you cant improve it.
If this was the case, then why dont sporting teams win 10 titles in a row in the AFL, NRL, NBA, MLB, NFL or NHL?

- her laugh on repeat could be used as torture tactics for the australian defences

Annoying. People can do this.

- her huge rant on being genuine and claiming she was genuine WHILST bitching about 3 housemates

Overrates herself here by placing herself at the top but no one dares question her for being attacked.
Would put Nathan, Ben and Sugar Sister near or at the top.
They dont bitch as much or they are more upfront (see Nathan talking to Tim).

See last night episode.
Telling Madaline that she needs to be careful of Tahan in voting. Tahan voted for Madaline.
If she didnt, Mikkayla would of had another bitchfest about being genuine.

She hates the intruders (females ones) because they get along as well as when they dont get along (male ones).
Tells the intruders that she likes them both. Ok.

- "I would probably kick dirt over her" whilst gleefully laughing

No explanation needed.

- Trying to put the blame back on tahan for her comments and not owning up to her horrible comment

Fake apology saying she was sorry that she heard it. Not the actual comment.
Dont know else this could be misinterpreted.

Oh and last but not least
- her fans bashing on anyone who is against her, and then making comments personal and then inboxing hate towards the commenters

Guess you havent seen Soshi and MADONNA turning every board they posts on into praising Mikkayla (even the eviction odds thread).
They think because it is somewhat relevance, the discussion can take place there.
People call out Tahan fans when Mikkayla fans do this repeatedly but turn a blind eye to it all.

She seemed nice to start with and I liked her but you fans have turned me against her completely. Looking forward to the hate xoxo

I'm not sure why you think my examples are biased? I was completely neutral at the start...I observed housemates behaviors...I noted patterns of behavior, deviations and circumstances around deviations... I took into account that editing may introduce bias...I drew upon my formal education and life experiences with people (academic, personal and professional)...and I came to the conclusion that Mikkayla is not a nice person. She is calculating and has a mean streak that aims to hurt other people.

To date I have been wrong about VERY few people in my life, and those who know me, get that I have great instinct and the ability to be fully impartial. As I'm not writing an academic paper, I provided the Blink example to provide a quick reference for the term micro-expression.

I don't mind healthy and respectful debates, but let's not forget that eons before the term "scientific evidence" was coined, humans survived on instinct and observation. ...Ask any millionaire/billionaire and they will tell you they use their gut instinct a lot in assessing new people and business opportunities.

p.s. Journalists are capable of conducting research from various disciplines and presenting them to the reader for their own analysis. (I'll acknowledge that there is a lot of shoddy journalism these days but still...)

I appreciate your breakdown of hedgo18s comments. If youve read some of my past comments, you'd know ive always been hot and cold with Mikkayla so Im not being completely biased. I genuinely dont get why she is so hated by people. I agree with a lot of what you said though but I still think there are some points you could spin either way.

- "we have a system and it works".
Take into account that she made this comment after Justynn made the comment he wasn't going to be a team player during the shopping and even outside he was whingeing how they spent their money comparing it to a student diet or something like that. So I don't have an issue with Mikkayla putting her foot down saying we have a system and it works. They've been in there longer. You can't come into a place and change the rules straight away especially if you don't know how everything works.

- the bracelet issue -
my feelings on this issue I've already expressed on this thread numerous times. "Mocking" is a bit over the top. She was put in an awkward position by jade and ed and told them white lies. She lied but I don't interpret it as nasty or manipulative in any way. She doesn't have an agenda against Jade or Ed

- when she cried after the tahan altercation
People react differently to things. She's entitled to cry if something upsets her.

- her rant on being genuine
Her rant came after Tim and tahan rudely pointed out that there were some people on that end that were fake, hinting very strongly at the sisters. A lot of her rant was based on why Tim and tahan were calling other people fake saying something like "some people need to get their heads out of their arse" and then she made a small comment at the end like "I think I'm pretty genuine" so I wouldn't really call it a rant about her being genuine. It was just about Tim and tahans outburst during the challenge and what genuine meant. Im also pretty sure ed and jade were at the top of the list so Mikkayla didn't put herself at the top. And we don't really know how they came to their decisions.

-the whole Mikkayla and sisters clique and them excluding tahan.
Again this is a matter of interpretation. Firstly you can't be excluded from a clique when you don't even want to be apart of that clique. Tahan has aways said that she can't stand any of the girls. Shes said that shes better than them and that she has a much better personality than them. They haven't excluded her because Tahan has made it clear she doesn't want to be friends with them

I also think the mock accent issue is also a matter of opinion but I could write a whole essay on that.
There are a couple of legitimate points but overall nothing on that convinces me that she is some nasty, evil, vindictive housemate or that she is any worse than other housemate

I maybe wrong here but the time I noticed when Mikkayla started to hate on Tahan was the time when the housemates were having a "Truth session?" on the island bench and Tahan revealed to all the housemates the reason she saved Mikkayla is due to that she think she could beat Mikkayla when it comes to the finals of Big Brother, I remember Mikkayla was taken aback by that response by Tahan as Mikkayla probably mistaken that Tahan saved Mikkayla out of friendship.

I agree with this, I think that's why Mikk turned on Tahan.I noticed that too.
I think if Tahan hadn't said that they still would've been friends
