You are just avoiding answering now.

I'm not avoiding anything cuddles.

You can't just turn your attraction to men or women on or off.

Speak for yourself.

It doesn't work that way.

Try another way then.

It's not a choice, you either are or aren't.

Are or Aren't is an option of two things and therefore represents a choice. People aren't born gay, they become gay by virtue of the choice/s that they make. If you decide to be gay you have made a choice to be gay and vice versa.

It's most certainly a choice. You're wrong and you're profoundly stupid.

No. Just no. So are you claiming that if you wanted you'd be able to turn gay?

You "are" or "aren't" a man or a woman. Does that represent a conscious choice?

Quoted for truth.

What do you call a man who can't get stick up with a woman because he's attracted to men only? He can't choose if it gets up or not.

I chose to be straight once. It wasn't a success.

I haven't read any posts in this thread but IMO Tim's made it pretty clear that he doesn't define himself as either straight or gay as he feels no need to categorise his sexuality. On the OS there was a video of him and Tully talking about sexuality while doing the ice cream truck challenge, Tim was explaining how he sees sexuality as a fluid thing. Tully asked if he had ever slept with a guy, Tim said he hadn't (the way he answered it pretty much implied he'd "fooled around" with other guys but not had penetrative sex with them) but would never say never or rule out the possibility.

Sexuality isn't black and white, 90% of us are a shade of grey somewhere between "straight" and "gay". Tim's definitely a shade of grey, closer to the straight end of the spectrum than the gay end though, and I don't think he's ever denied it.

I thought it weird when he said being gay or straight was a choice..and he felt pretty strongly about it. Maybe he's 'chosen' to be straight.
Wish people would stop misinterpreting what he said. He never said that. He said IDENTIFYING as straight or gay is a choice. Having homosexual desires isn't a choice, but the way you choose to put those desires in a box and label that box and present yourself to society as being in that box is. Tim views sexuality as a fluid thing, so he thinks the labels "straight" and "gay" are bullshit because they don't accurately represent most people's sexual orientation, which can change and is often something between the two.

Did a researcher do a paper on this? Considering the conservatives out there, 90% seems very high.

Conservatives will also say 1-2% of the population are gay:/

haha oh the conservatives! god love em! I remember people use to say 1 in 10 were gay. Im calling bullshit since my fellow bi's, gays, lesibians and all the other lovely things seem to be everywhere!

I understand what he was saying and I still completely disagree.

Some bisexual with a complex called Kinsey pulled that figure from his arse. I reckon 90% are population are strictly straight and don't suffer from this so-called sexual 'fluidity' Kinsey was projecting to feel good about his own type of sexuality, 7% are strictly gay and roughly the tiny 3% remaining fall in the category of the individuals who Kinsey thought are in the vast majority, the so-called fluids.
