Is Ed Gay?

I think there are unanswered questions, but seriously, if you are in AFL management, you're not going onto BB to reveal something like that.

Yes, Ed is probably gay, or at least bi. But, as he said in the house, getting married and having kids is a necessity for him to have a happy life, so he'll never come out. He'll continue to kiss boys, snuggle Matt and 'play get gay married. etc... ;)

He's in denial. Hopefully someone in his family will ask him after he gets out of the house if he is or not

This thread has given me a good chuckle.....i have a great mixture of gay straight and bi friends and have never noticed any personality traits that separate their different sexualities, other than a couple of male gay friends who deliberately accentuate their feminine side.....but the stereotypes are here are pretty funny :)

He's definitely gay but deeply closeted even to himself. The weird banana fear, the way his body is toned (compared to the hetero Matt), his awkwardness and lack of any real interest talking to women, the over the top immature way he reacted to giving Ben a peck during spin the bottle (I mean Mary please! get a grip).

I've seen (and fucked) so many down-low dudes like him before. I just hope he doesn't just get married and keep it all repressed until a mid-life crisis like so many of those Footy Show-type of guys.

Exactly, the banana and the Ben peck. Over the top and it also shows complete lack of mind control. What a baby.
...and of course, he hasn't got a clue how to communicate with a woman let alone what to do in her presence.

What do you mean???

I'm stereotyping obviously but in my personal experience I know both gay and straight gym junkie/muscle types and they tend to tone up in different ways and focus on different things. The straights more basic, beefy and fit while the gays are more 'cosmetic', what looks better in clubs, what looks better in photographs. Ed's physique (compared to Matt and Calebs for example) is very specifically toned in a way that screams to me 'muscle mary', especially in terms of how he focuses on legs, butt, v-cut abs etc. You have to be somewhat 'into' the male body and male beauty to work so hard to get such a specific, obsessive physique.

Its probably more of an example of narcissism and self obsession then closeted homosexuality so maybe its not the best example! But I think its something to point out, especially with all the other evidence at hand.

The Ben peck definitely sealed the deal for me. It was so embarrassing! All heterosexual dudes I know would have no problem kissing a dude in a playful situation like that, they are secure enough in themselves to not worry about that shit. His reaction was really rude and disrespectful to Ben too.

Matt, Caleb and Tim (although I think Tim is actually more bi/pansexual) have all kissed dudes in the house without making a big deal out of it.

Enough with the stereotypes I'm becoming offended on behalf of others..... Personality and sexuality are completely different things, 1 has nothing to do with the other
Just because someone has no interest in a member of the other sex who others think is attractive does not make them gay...
Body type does not make you gay...
not liking bananas does not make you gay...
An over the top immature reaction to kissing someone of the same sex does not make you gay, firstly over the top and immature is pretty much the way to describe anyone who's had a few drinks and secondly considering his background (afl) where in this day and age it's still not ok to be gay AND bens been open about his attraction to Ed I'm surprised Ben got anywhere near him

What sealed it for me was his confession about what bothered/got to etc... him most about a former partner cheating on him was the emotional connection she made or some shit. Say whaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Interesting..I was never really a fan of Ed's body..that's a bit too muscly for me and it does kind of make me think of narcissism. I much prefer Drew's body.

THIS! I don't know why (its quite immature of me), but when ever I see a muscly body like ed or matt's I instinctively roll my eyes and lose interest. I much prefer the body of drew or tim! Healthy and masculine yet not over the top.

Omg yes, I've had this thought since day one!!! :p

Let's see:
- Fear of bananas. (I don't think I need to explain this one.)
- AFL background. (Sorry but I think quite a few of them do a lot of questionable things in the name of teamsports and are in the closet.)
- His weird reaction to kissing Ben. (Wtf was that?)
- I think he's instigated one or two discussions about: "How would you react if you found out your son was gay?" (He always looks VERY interested in everyone's answers.)
- His obscure dancing, his obsession with his body, his pronunciation of "girls", didn't let the girls in when ManDate were practising, he dressed as a drag-queen or whatever at Tim's fake birthday party, giggling like a little school-girl when Ben called him on the phone at nominations... (I know these are stereotypes but I'm still taking them into consideration because it almost seems like he's suppressing his feminine side to maintain his image.)
- His ridiculous relationship with Jade. (Although I have noticed from the start that he has the hots for Tahan but clearly she's off-limits.)
- And then you can't help but compare his behaviour to someone like Drew (who is very comfortable with his sexuality) and it's like night and day.

My conclusion: He's either bi-sexual, very confused or a flaming gay. Take your pick.

Here we go again with Mr Ed... bagging on Tim every-time he walks away. This idiot doesn't learn. Ed is playing the game more then anyone else, and that is what is frustrating Ed so much about Tim, that he could win. p*ss off now Ed.

Well sort of, Ed's in love with himself.

Lol

In all seriousness tho are people genuinely questioning if Ed is gay? I don't see it. (But that doesn't necessarily mean much). I thought his weird reaction to kissing Ben was actually a typical reaction that a lot of men could have if they feel they are in an environment where being gay, or doing something seen as gay, could get them hassles.

And that could apply whether a person is straight or gay themselves I.e. It's the fear of how others will react to it versus and any ridicule you might face whether you actually have your own fears or cares ,..... So the overreaction could be so he can later make it obvious to anyone who might rib him for it that 'look how much I he hated it'

That may well be the case, but it just emphasises how weak his character is & still begs the question IMO. Anyone who can't put up with & laugh off a little ridicule for something so meaningless or puts value in the opinions of idiots is a coward, a 2-faced prick, or insecure in his own masculinity/sexuality.
