I think her constant Ed talk was certainly intentional. She wanted to make it clear to him from the beginning that she wasn't going to turn on Ed so any attempts Tim made were pointless.

That's exactly the impression I got - or at least I hoped that she had knowingly taken that initiative.
Tim in his arrogance of course brushed it off in the DR, trying to give the impression that he in the end couldn't be bothered any longer because all Jade did was talk about Ed.
