Vest Vs Hairdryer - Rewards Vs Punishment

Longbow

Self Destructoid
Please correct me if I'm wrong as I'm typing this completely from my memory which is like Swiss cheese

So it seems there's this under arcing narrative between Tim and Tahan over the Hairdryer/Ice Cream and now the Vest/Clutch. Something seems a little off to me though, slightly unfair even.

If memory serves correct Tahan not having her hairdryer is a punishment for breaking BB rules and getting in the spa, so it's her fault right? She only has herself to blame. However it seems though that Tim is in the wrong for not choosing the dryer and Tahan's behavior as the result of it indicates to me that she feels cheated somehow and Tim is completely selfish all the while forgetting the entire reason why she doesn't have her dryer in the first place.

Then Tahan being vindictive throws Tim's vest over the wall. He didn't take the dryer away from her, he only has the ability to get it back, so he gets punished for it. So there's no repercussions for Tahan as far as i know for throwing someone else's property over the wall. Tim then cut a cord off a curling iron (don't know whether it was Tahan's or BB's) or whatever that was, which was just as bad as he should've ignored the situation as best he could to solely make Tahan look bad.

So i thought, BB will give Tim's vest back right? Wrong. Tahan get's a dilemma of her own with the vest SHE threw over. Then gets rewarded with something valued more than Tim's ice creams. What's stopping Tim from throwing everything of Tahan's over the wall?

If Tim didn't get his vest back because he cut the cord or broke a rule i would understand but shouldn't Tahan be punished as well?

I thought it was funny and interesting at first, now it feels messy and contrived to create narrative. What about a dilemma for Jade, Ben, Lucy etc... Where are their rewards? (I don't agree with HM's being rewarded either)

I hope Tim gets to go in the DR one more time and takes the dryer, goes outside to where they all are, shows Tahan that he chose the dryer this time, then throws it over the wall. Instant classic!

What do you guys think about this situation? Petty topic i know compared to others but i did strike me as a strange situation.

It does kind of set the standard that if you throw someones property over the compound wall than you will be faced with the dilemma of returning it to the person or receiving an item that you want for free. Basically you do the wrong thing and than get rewarded. It doesn't really bother me though. It is just a TV show and Tim will get his vest back at the end. Tahan does need to remember though like you say that it is her own fault that she does not have her hair dryer and Tim does not owe it to her to give to back to her.

I always thought Tahan lost the hairdryer (and her clothes) because of her getting into the spa the night but I'm sure I heard Mike Goldman's voice over (during an episode with the vest going over the wall with the meatheads egging her on) say she lost it before going into the house? I'm not sure if any HM's actually have a hairdryer? Tahan's was expensive and extra quiet, that's why she bought it to BB. I think Tahan is a fan of the Kim Kardashian(look-a-like) that's why BB gave her that KK clutch.
Katie & Lucy and Jade have had extras from BB like hair bleach? and BB gave the sisters a huge beauty hamper when they participated in the game show task. Tahan was annoyed because they didnt share it, although Mikkayla got to use some nailpolish.
I think its funny when Tim holds up the icecream v's the hairdryer. I wonder if BB will try that again soon.

Did her hair dryer get confiscated for the Spa?

I thought it was just her clothes for a couple days.

Tim's just a selfish prick. That's the bottom line.

She threw his jacket over because she was shitty at him taking pleasure in being mean to her. There's no other explanation unless you think tim's a complete baby who can't resist food. He is never happier than when he can come out and say, 'look what I just did.'

Throwing the jacket is immature, but I think that just comes with the BB experience. Him cutting the straighter, destroying her property is on a different level. It was mean and vindictive. The jacket thing was at least a fuck you, I will do something to punish you. Tahan is helpless. She can't reason or ask Tim. He says he will and won't.

She was right to not take the jacket from the diary room. She'd have been a sucker if she did. Tim would still take the ice cream after that. Now though the balance may be shifted and so Tim will do the right thing because he has something to gain.

oh i agree with you, i know it's just show and they'll get their stuff back, it just seems very silly now and not needed. I do get the feeling they might continue with it though for Tahan to "get back" at Tim even though he's done nothing wrong and she has no ground for being entitled to revenge. That's what i see them doing.

Not everything in life is fair.
Sure, the dilemma is hardly the same, Tim doesn't complain about not having his vest and the bag is worth Way more than the ice cream.

If you don't understand why throwing everyone's clothes over the fence would be a silly move, then you don't really understand how the game Big Brother really works.

I was being rhetorical to help paint the picture of what i was trying to say. Believe me i know how stupid that would be and hurt relationships in the house and their chance of winning.

I always thought that you wouldn't be allowed those things as they make noise and could be used to cover conversations? Not sure, because if Tim had chosen it she could use it. A bit confusing. I think the only reason they keep dragging it out is because like all things in BB, they are just out of ideas and this creates a storyline. (Be it getting very old and tired one now).

If Tahan was smart she should have picked Tim's jacket.

Then she could have said, I was being nice & not petty.

Tahan's hairdryer is a special silent/quiet type, which I guess might not interfere with the microphones?

Tahan lost hairdryer because of the spa. It is a special imported hairdryer that makes no noise. Agree that what she got offered was on another level to what Tim gets offered. It is all moot though because Tim will not react the way Tahan has.

Just a few points.

After the Tim's second chance to given Tahan her hairdryer, he promised her that if he was offered again, he would take the hairdryer.

She got pissed at him after he had another opportunity and despite the promise, ate the icecream again.

He's had three chances and still thinks it's funny.

I'm NOT defending her actions (I can't stand her). It's only a TV show, and Tim & Tahan will get their stuff back.

The only thing I'm surprised at is Tim's malicious damage to the hair straightener going un-punished. Yup, she didn't care, and it's easily replaceable, but I remember George getting punished for breaking the small black-board last year.

In all, I really don't care, but that's just my 2c.

Let's also take note that although Tim chose the ice cream the 3rd time around, he didn't want Tahan to know about it but was ratted out by the other housemates. I think he wanted her to be none the wiser and not feel upset.
