I haven't read any of this thread but after tonights episode i had to vent. I hate Mikkayla what a phuking disrepectful bitch. I can't believe she said she hates being asian, I'm what you would call 'white washed' asian myself and she is portraying a bad stereotype for other asians. How about having some pride in your background and culture, what would her biological parents think?! she basically disrespected everyone in her family and asians a race, I hope she gets the fuk out.

Get real - you obviously were not brought up adopted by white parents in a white culture where you were treated poorly for being different. She disrespected no-one but herself. I hope she starts to feel like she's a worthwhile person no matter what she looks like - a little compassion & understanding of where she comes from is called for, not this crap.

I don't think anybody should have a hate page. Not Tully. Not Mikk. Nobody. It's just awful to do that. It's one thing to say your opinion on a forum and talk about a show .. but if you're making a hate page then that's taking things too far.

It is an interesting issue though. I think understanding her position and showing how the way you think is better than hers might be better .
I taught in South Korea for a while, and while there was teaching a class about the civil rights movement in the US. They had great difficulty in understanding the concept of racism, because surely pride in ones race is a good thing. Every Korean I spoke to is completely, utterly, unquestioningly sure that it is better to be Korean than Japanese.
Thee issue is different in these countries to Australia, because 'Korean' is a physical place, a race, a language and a culture in a way Australia or the US or whatever are not.
Her perspective should be addressed - what is wrong with our culture that an intelligent woman living in Australia feels her life would be better if she was white.

If you consider how she has often talked about feeling insecure about her body I actually think this is similar. It's more about her having this imagine in her mind of what is 'ideal' and feeling she doesn't measure up. She was adopted so could easily have wanted to 'fit in' but always felt 'different' because of her looks. No matter how wonderful adoptive parents are some times the adopted child still feels weird about it (for all sorts of reasons).
I just think she has insecurities about herself and this is just another one. It doesn't make her racist. If I said (for example) that I hated being short (not that I am) that wouldn't mean I have a thing against short people in general.

Ironically the thing I like both about Tahan and Mikk is that they are both lively and enthusiastic and animated and laugh a lot and are engaging. That doesn't mean I agree or like all their behaviours and attitudes but I can deal with the negative side of them easier when there is such a good fun enthusiastic positive side to balance it. I am getting more and more disappointed with Tahan tho :-(

Yeah. Also, I cannot think of anything I utterly disagree with that Tahan says. Synthetic hair IS ugly. Eating 3 dinners and complaining about your size is ... problematic. I like them both too. But they are not perfect people.
It is funny that some of these people's imperfections resonate differently with us than others. The sisters are kind, nice, good in a crisis, but would drive me insane, whereas I would happily spend time with Tahn or Mikkayla. Some people defend Tully. MAn, I have.
Look at the ones we really hate, each of us, and work out why. I find BB such a good self-analysis stimuli.

To all those here that defend Tahan, are you freaking delusional? She the meanest, nastiest, rudest, stuck-up, most self-deluded all-around bitch on this season. The only reason I believe she is still in the house is because so many people watching this show are haters themselves who want to see this kind of crap and vote to keep her. As for Tully, she needs to get a grip. As for Jade, she needs to be a bit less of a 'stalker' when she likes someone. As for Mikkayla, quit being everyone's boss. As for Drew, quit being Tully's bitch. As for Ed, the Sugar Sisters, and Ben, keep being the nice, funny, giggling people you are. And as for Tim, well, seeing as how all the HM's see what hes doing yet do nothing about it or worse, play in to it, more power to 'ya.

I think the problem I have with Tahan is that she seems to get to much enjoyment for bitching and she doesn't care that she hurts people with her comments. She obviously lives in a world where bitching is just normal conversation and I think she is very good at living in that world and she is no doubt a survivor. It would be nice if she would let her guard down and have a normal honest open conversation with people, but I don't think it will ever happen. I think her appeal is skin deep and she has pretty think skin.
Despite all the reason I don't like Tully, I can't say she is mean in the way Tahan is and to me that is what has dropped Tahan below Tully on my personal most disliked list.
