Matthew is gutless

I'm disappointed in Matt. You think by him being a war hero, he'd have guts. Him and Ed talk about Tim being manipulative and running the whole house and them all fearing him. But he doesn't tell Tim to his face. Instead, he goes along with him and the house. I know Matthew fought a tough war and had to have guts to do it. So why is it he can't show the same guts and determination to stand up to Tim?

It's about time he should stand up for himself and show he has a backbone. He could at least defend Jade when Tim was trashing her. But no one said anything. The entire house is spineless.
 
He is probably more used to taking orders rather than planning the stratehies.

I thought he handled himself very well when he spoke to Tully about her negativity, but apart from that I agree with you. Ed is worse, though. MMatt is just not a leader. He is a loyal servant and friend with a moralistic streak who likes a good gossip.

I don't know if it's lack of guts or more being smart. Surely they've worked out that everyone who's had issues with Tim has been evicted that week.
 
He just doesn't want the target on him.. I completely understand. If I was in that situation, I'd be the same. Although, I think it would work in his favour (at this point) to say something about Tim.

He's not an idiot though, unlike what most people think of him. He knows Tim's popular on the outside. He has to tread very carefully with him.
 
I think Matt needs to up his game if he wants to survive. I'm guessing Ed is gone this week, but if Matt is up next week with Ed gone his chances of being saved are slim to none. He needs to get the public's support or at least pique their interest. This could be done be either calling Tim out on his crap and kinda declaring war or by confronting Tully (A LOT better than the attempt he made last time) or even Drully.

there is a vast difference between between risking your life in a hostile war zone and confronting someone on a reality tv show.

please refrain from making idiotic comparisons in the fututre.
 
The problem is, people like Ed and Tim think they are controlling the house. They want to make people think Tim is controlling the house. It's like all that crap people have been saying for a few weeks about Tim being so powerful, Tim controlling. It's all them trying to deflect and secretly think they are in a position of power.

Ed and Matt totally think they are in power, and by talking about Tim, by not saying stuff to Tim's face. That they are really running the house.

Truth is, no one is running the house.

Agree with what you have said but Big Brother runs the house lol.
 
I'd like to see how Matt is after ed leaves. I think Matt will either have a breaking point and say more than he has or he will start playing the game dirtier.

I know you're not the first one to say that (BB promo stuff has too) but where does this 'war hero' stuff come from, I'm sure he did a fine job over there but that's a pretty big thing to call someone a war hero. Maybe I've missed something and if it's justified then good on him.

He gave a run down of accolades he received during his active service so he has been recognized.

I could have sworn the thread title read "Ed is so gutless". Then I re-read it as "Drew is so gutless" Matt though? Sorry. But I can't begin to agree when there are others better suited to the title.

I have to agree. Thank you informing us on the Recognition. Like others have said, comparing this to war and reality tv is ridiculous. For one after being in war, this all looks so petty to Matt I'd say.

This is why Matt goes up and down in my books. When he's around the "cool" group I can't stand him but then suddenly he has moments of greatness - they don't last long though.

That comparison was eyeroll inducing. But Matt listing his awards was a live feed update. I'd tell you what they were but once I realized what was happening I kinda switched off. :p I appreciate his service, though.
 
Mikkayla is that way too. She never goes up to anyone, that coward.
