Is it just a coincidence that there was a very close call on Monday night that nearly saw Ed evicted...and tonight, for practically the first time, we've seen Ed laugh/talk/shout/actually show a shred of personality?? Methinks the producers want to keep him in, dull as he is, because of the quadrilateral...

Yes, now that you said that, yes I agree, I saw more of him tonight.
It also makes me wonder...is what we saw of him tonight actually indicative of who he is and what he's like, and he's nothing like 99% of what we've been shown??

Still find him to be boring compared to others. His whole 'mutiny' thing is pathetic and petty. He is also incredibly thick, he needs to bring more or he'll be out next time he's up.
Oh I agree. I just wonder if there's more to him than we're being shown. But either way, he's not my cup of tea. Give me Tim any day.

Don't forget Surly giving advice to Jade about how to get Ed.
I took that more to be because either the producers have a soft spot for Jade or they're concerned her constant fawning over Ed is going to get her evicted. She needs to stick around for when the intruder(s) come, especially if Alex's tweet tonight is any indication of what they're going for.

If he would just go for Jade his popularity would go up rather than be at rock bottom. And it's not even that he just won't go for her ... he's all wishy washy with her and just blah. If he went for her and showed some personality while with her then he'd get even more fans. Like how Drew spins Tully around, throws a blanket over her, does't let her spit out the toothpaste, etc. NOT that I like Drew and Tully ... but if Ed could show some personailty like that with Jade then he would have more fans. Ed just seems really into himself and sort of like he looks down on people.

he just likes 'hanging with the boys' give him a break! He doesnt have to worry about how he looks or being mysterious to the girls so he's being more relaxed. Did you see him on Confidential when Jade was traveling around the bedroom and he just kept watching her like "oh fuck, she's coming..."

It's quite possible that he only gets airtime when it's Jade related just because there's not enough show for each housemate. I find it hard to believe the entire house would be so in love with him if all he did was lay in bed and reject Jade. He might not be the most interesting guy on earth but surely there's a lot more to him, just like there's to all the more invisible housemates.
There's been several posts in the live-feed thread about "Why wasn't this interesting thing shown on the show" and that probably applies to Ed as much as everyone else. Jaz's entire highlight reel was stuff we'd basically never seen.

Interesting....... For me personally, when I think if Ed I immediately think of Jade. Even though the chat with Surly was with Jade I reckon they had Ed in mind as much as Jade. What did the tweet say?

Great post. They obviously have to edit down 24 hours of footage into a watchable show and the Ed/Jade scenario is probably the most interesting thing happening for those two. I think once there are less housemates, we will get to know more of them on a deeper level.

I do not like him. So far all I have seen is yes a very handsome guy but with no personality whatsoever so for me he is not handsome anymore.
Plus I noticed he is very desperate to win. If there is one guy constantly talking about game play, Tim and winning it is Ed.

I have to admit that in the last couple of days Ed has grown on me a little. Maybe it's because Drew has gone so far down in my estimation that Ed looks better. Maybe it's because they're showing him being more opinionated and doing more things.
My opinion of him though is still tainted by him being so inarticulate with Jade and his words to others not equalling his actions in that area.
I know for sure that there's others I'd love to get out of there first.
