Are this year's bunch bad at reading the public?

It seems that this year's bunch have strong ideas about who the
'nice', 'popular' hms are - Matt, Caleb, Ed - and all the evictees seem to have either befriended them or else think/thought they'll make it to the end. I think this was the biggest reason for the mass-blubbering last night. But, assuming the hms know the most about them & are therefore correct, could it be editing that is to blame? Could there really be more to the meatheads than what we're seeing?

I do think that Caleb, Ed and Matt secretly thought they'd coast to the end. Which won't happen.

There is one person in there who is proving insanely good at reading the public, and that's Tim. He seems to be the only one who is taking time to think about things logically, without all the other crap getting in the way.

I think that Tim and Drew now KNOW that the typical boring boofheads who usual coast in are not popular at the moment, and that Tim is. Also, it must be clear that Tahan, Jade and Tully have fans, or they would have gone by now.

I would think that Tim, Mikkayla, Drew and maybe Ed, if his arrogance allows it, should now have an accurate picture of how it stands at this time, with the empty physiques on the bottom, the girls in the middle, and Tim and probably Ben at the top.

And everyone must just assume that Heidi will go home if she goes up.

Overall, I guess housemates have been ignorant, but I think it changed when Caleb left. They are starting to realize Australia has evolved from that first Jungian archetype of masculinity, the Tarzan physical thing, and credit charisma and ability to dominate as being more valuable. I wonder if Ed can raise his game. Matt will try, but look more like a gossiping bitch.

I dont remember what year but one of them went for a long time without being nominated, and first time they were all up he went.

Ed can't even deal with Jade, so how can he play the game?!

It also comes down to the crucial point that Australia is voting to save who they want in, not evict who they want out. The housemates have stated multiple times that they hate Australia for voting the way they have, but if they viewed it in the perspective of someone who deserves to stay in because they are interesting/controversial then there are no suprises.

If the HM's think as Heidi does that "Australia got it wrong!" with evictions, then they are well and truly at odds as to what the public are thinking. Statements like that are arrogant and inflammatory to a moneyed up voting public....bye bye Heidi. ;)

Some of them, are thick as bricks about themselves - and that is part of the problem.

Heidi - has not even a pinch of self awareness, that she cannot comprehend how rude she is, sheesh.
Her behaviour towards both Mikkayla and Tahan is so offensive. The Mikkayla stuff deserves a strike if you ask me.
She sees herself as kind (I'm not helping her anymore), funny (the racist jokes), popular.
She mistakes meddling & pushy, as helpful? She mistakes motormouth talks a lot & clichés,for humour?

Ed, thinks he's interesting & charming.
Matt, thinks he's funny & wise.
Sickly sisters think that's appealing.

They all have dumb cheer squads at home reinforcing this crap I guess.
I mean look at them? No clue about themselves - of course they have no clue about outside.

Caleb - thought of himself as funny, I looked away whenever he came on after the pulling faces thing, he creeped me out totally, the teeth/hair/creepy faces, yucky voice and way too meaty.

I look at guys like Caleb/Matt....Ed and just imagine they stink, all that sweat & oil, erk.

Oh, just another thing about stupid Heidi, the moronic stuff that constantly comes out of her mouth, with her head stuck up in the air, like I'm better than you...........

What stupid stuff she said about Caleb - that he's the guy that should change the way aussie men are perceived- completely meaningless like her.

One thing is I think they get confused by the crowd reactions - the loudest of which is teenage girls squealing whenever a hunky guy is on the screen. Crowd reaction is not the same thing as voter support.

Sometimes they just don't seem to understand what vote-to-save means in terms of who goes home, but they're no different than a lot of the audience on that score.

Oh yes, 100% correct on Heidi. What a horrid specimen. She's one of those particularly nasty types that treat those they perceive as beneath them with contempt & ridicule...I'd put her in the same category as Ben Norris & Emma '07 in that regard.

Heidi in one word is - TOXIC!
Most of the HM's probably think last nights evictions was a close call between Tim and Caleb - idiots.
