Is Jades behaviour disturbing?

On the outside (rl) jade could away with her clingy desperate behaviour towards ed and simply dismiss it as 'cute' and whatever. But in a small confined space where they're stuck with each other 24/7, it is a bit creepy I'm afraid.

I've said before and I'll say it again how jade is behaving would not be tolerated or seen as 'cute' if it were a guy like rohan who persisted in romantically pursuing her, that is the litmus test.

Some people seem to think she should get away with it just 'cos she's 'hot' and ed is not physically disgusted by her. In fact he occasionally gets turned on by her sexual overtures. Hmmm...I'm not sure about that.

Is Jade coming off as some sort of creepy pathetic stalker girl? Yes.

Does Ed look like he lacks the balls to tell her to her face? Yes.

From Ed's perspective tho, it seems he can't win whichever way he goes. In my opinion, he doesn't seem interested in her advances, that's pretty clear. But let's just remind ourselves that this is taking place within a GAME where the object is to not get voted out by the public!

From how I see it. he has three options:

1. He tells her outright in clear and plain wording that he is not interested. By doing this he is risking looking like a complete douche to the simpering teen girl viewers, AKA the voting public.

2. He goes along with her advances and then gets ridiculed for not keeping his word on NOT hooking up in the house. By doing this, he loses save votes because 'he lied'.

3. He tries desperately to not hurt her feelings (or lose votes) by steering clear of 1 & 2 and instead gets labeled as 'leading her on'

The poor bastard is screwed whichever way he turns.

Of course Rohan couldnt do it. He is ugly. Ugly people dont havethat right. I'd like to see a Fat guy go in , fall in lust with Tahan and pursue her.

You do know what everyone will say when that happens dont you?

As for germaine Greer and her ilk... I am friends with a number of prominent feminists. Two of them work for Melbourne radio and are well known people. One thing they fight for is equality for women and men. People like Greer want this equality and more. She fights for womens rights which is good, but then she doesnt care who gets hurt in the process. The fight should be for ALL people to be equal. She doesnt want equality

Why do you keep saying she is not a good person, you've said it at least twice and when someone question you, you say that is not something to be discussed here, weird.

As for your Germain/Hairy armpit comments, the minute you start being so disrespectful to women in general is the minute people start thinking you have nothing of worth to say.

How do you think it would play out if the sexes were reversed? The same? or do you think public opinion would be on the girls side?

Imagine is it were Rohan chasing Tahan in the same way.

Ok, perhaps sexual harrassment may not have been the right term..im sure i could go into my workplace and chase a friendly girl around and not be up on any hassles with HR!


Lets just say she is doing the right thing by chasing him and he is doing the wrong thing by not giving into what some people deem to be a hot girl.

Yes, he is a douche for having values and should be voted out.
God help Drew if Ed gets out first.

I hope Drew doesnt act liek an arsehole an reject Jade. As a hot guy it is his duty to give in.

When was his tongue in her mouth? Dont say in the spa party either..that was a bunch of young people just kissing whoever. there was no intention to pursue a relationship.

Has Ed at any stage said that he wanted to pursue a relationship?

It amazes me that some people in here don't have their own life experiences to draw on. Surely most can identify. I know full well what it feels like to be Jade ie be the adoree of the man who is not interested, and I also know what it is like to be in Ed's position and have an adorer who dribbles after me in pathetic lusty love.

The reason people can't identify "true" sexual harassment is that women have had to put up with it for too long and people in general think harassing things are non-issues as a result.

Look, ive already said Ed is a bad guy for not giving in when a hot girl demands his attention.

I agree with everyone now. Jade wants him so he should just surrender or be voted out by teen girls who will be mad at him for not giving in.

If Ed goes then Drew better lie down and take if it Jade wants
 
Disturbing? Nah, not really. She's acting like many an insecure 22yo when they're being sent mixed signals. As mentioned earlier, when Drew was all googly eyed over Jade even though it was clear she liked Ed no one questioned his behaviour and in fact, encouraged it.

And really, if anyone thinks this is sexual harassment then that clearly says to me you've never been sexually harassed. I have in a workplace and there is NO WAY I'd share a bed (desk) with him, let alone snuggle (sit on his lap in his chair) with him, or make out with him. Oh and be all happy and chatty and choose to sit/lay next to him as we've seen Ed do again today under any circumstance. Confined space (ie a work conference room/office/BB house) or not.

sexual harrasment in the workplace is repeated unwanted advances.
I would consider the house a workplace

But seeing as it is a woman doing it then i agree it should be classed as that and Ed should just do what he is told. I withdraw my sexual harrasment claim

Crap, i missed the part where Jade told Drew that she had no interest in a relationship. What episode was that?
 
Anyway, im out of this thread because it seems some people have an issue with discussing a point instead of the point maker. I really dont get why people need to make it personal. I dont attack other posters. Ah well, guess kids need to be empowered by attacking people.

You've missed the point completely. You're saying that Jade isn't a good person and is sexually harassing Ed because he isn't interested in her and told her he didn't want a relationship (albeit in a completely non straightforward way). He DID NOT tell her he wasn't interested in her and in fact as done many things since that conversation to give her the complete opposite impression. Remember - Jade's not hearing the conversations we do. She only knows what's being said to and shown to her, both from Ed and others.

Although I do wonder how you'd explain a harassment victim saying he'd root the perpetrator of his abuse - as Ed did this week when asked if he'd have sex with Jade outside of the house. Yeah mate, poor Ed is feeling extremely harassed. You might not like Jade but you need to come up with a different tactic here because this one is simply embarrassing.
