Is BB Exploiting Ben?

Ben is a 30 year old who signed up under his own freewill. Thankfully too the HMs are treating him as a 30 year old too, whether he likes it or not. The eviction audience however seems to treat him as a three year old.

I don't disagree with any of the comments on this thread, however in my case the jury is still out on "who is Ben". Sometimes I see him as the "slow" kid in the corner of the playground, no friends, school being a nightmare for him and yet I understand that he has intelligence or he would never have been a flight attendant. However, having intelligence and still being "slow" can go hand in hand. Look what is happening to him with the outside viewers as well as the Housemates. Everyone is starting to be quite nasty to Ben. If Ben is really the Ben we see, then we should all bow our heads for being bullies.

Then there is a different way of thinking (for me anyway), lets say Ben is an actor and all his behaviour is a ploy to win BB. Is that so bad? I would say hats off to anyone who can go into a House like that and carry on an act for that long under such scrutiny. Maybe this is the case, because people are saying they can see the cracks in his act. Shouldn't he be applauded for having the best game ever? Doesn't Tim have a plan to win? Tahan has made it quite clear she has a plan, and let's be honest, they all have plans to win.

And yet maybe Ben is just a version of some great actors by the name of Jerry Lewis or a Jim Carrey or even a Robin Williams. All of them zany on and off camera...........lol let's just say I am confused, but watching like a Hawk

I don't see that Ben has an intellectual disability at all! He actually comes across as very articulate and intelligent. Perhaps he has mild social anxiety (as he has claimed), although I wonder how much of that is sincere and how much is a play for audience sympathy as you have to be personable and outgoing to be a flight attendant.

I think a lot of people go into the house with preconceptions of how they're going to think and act and due to the unusual circumstances with strong competing personalities, the formation of social hierarchies, and 24 hour surveillance, they find their own values challenged under pressure and their self-esteem failing them. Being amongst total strangers, away from your home and the people who care for you, is disorienting at the best of times (such as when traveling or starting a new job) but living in the BB house is like a pressure cooker that amplifies people's reactions to everything.

The other day when Mikkayla was upset about being up for eviction, Ben gave her a little pep talk that showed him to have a very well-balanced perspective, and he was quite sweet and caring. I haven't been a big Ben fan because I see him playing up for air time to win the audience's favour, but when you get little insights into the real Ben, I think he comes across as a nice guy and not nearly as helpless or vulnerable as he'd like people to think.

quoted for truth. He DOES NOT have a intellectual disability. Just because he is a different person does not mean he is fucking retarded FFS!

I posted a link to one of Ben's tweets in another thread, reading between the lines of that tweet could suggest he was 'managed out' of his airline job while he was suffering from anxiety and depression. If he is still recovering from a period of mental illness then you'd have to wonder whether going on an emotional rollercoaster experience like BB, and getting the kind of semi-fame it provides (especially given the way he is portrayed by the show) is really a wise thing to do.

I want to believe he's genuine. But even if he's acting, at least the part he's playing is a nice enough person. It just bugs me the favouritism he's getting from the producers.
