Is playing you all for fools?

I thought from the get go that he was kind of acting up the 'I'm so sad that I like Jade and she likes Ed' thing...and I figured most people on here would too. But I'm getting the vibe everyone is fan-girling over him, it's almost more painful than people who claim to be Ben fans because he's so sweet and quirky and nice.

I don't see how Drew winning is any different than Matt, Ed or Caleb winning. Typical nice guy with the nice looks who just happens to have been rejected by a girl in the house, and to be friends with Tim.
 
I think there are quite a few differences.

Matt - he's a nice guy, but doesn't really add much to the house.
Ed - nice guy, finally starting to get interesting with his talks, but generally he lacks in any kind of personality of preferences.
Caleb - nice again, little bit of a talker, but it's interesting how he takes Tim's scheming so personally. Part of being in the house is to stir things up and make it a viewing.

Drew is a nice, somewhat calmer guy, but he has his preferences. He has a personality he shows, he's not mr. perfect nor does he try to be (which is different from the other 3). He's not against some fun in the house. I don't really put him in the same bracket as those 3... or really anyone. He's very much a stand alone type.
 
I disagree. Let us compare, say, the way Drew and Ed have acted towards Jade.

Drew was acting, but appeared to like her, and yet was never creepy about it. He would let something happen. He wasn't possessive, nor did he whine when she flirted with the at the time most popular boy in the house Ed. He bonded with Tully over his situation, talking intelligently and realistically, but sweetly. Hinting as much as saying how he felt. Good, strategic gameplay by someone in control of their powers. Be befriended the biggest personality in the house, looks like 'Ted' Theodore Logan and avoids fights. He has weathered the onslaught of a flirty girl and the barrages of a high-maintainance girl, and seems like a good guy. Not vanilla, but not weird.

Ed, however, responded to the flirting by kissing, which turned awkward, unlike the smooth way Drew handled the kissing in the task. When Ed decided not to go ahead with the showmance he could not even say one word to the poor girl, who did a very good job interpreting him dumping her. His dumping was pathetic, showing he has no ability to express himself emotionally, unlike Drew. Ed seems either closed and guarded, or boring and uninteresting. He started off with the quiet arrogance of someone who is usually admired by men and women. Jasmin was on his side, and she just left.

Matt is a boofhead.

Caleb is a good bloke, but terrified of appearing anything but stupid.

If BB is a social experiment, or a mirror of how the different social groups in Australia interact, then I am glad someone like Drew has it over any of the other 3 mentioned. Ben is not lovable enough. And Tim lacks subtlety, which Drew also has. I think he is the best male housemate.
 
I think Drew is a follower. In all the pranks that Tim and Drew are credited for, it was Tim's idea with Drew just tagging along. Even after the birthday prank he threw Tim under the bus in order to get Tully back on side. (really? I mean just walk away from her already)

He also lets Jade all over him so that he doesn't have to make any attempt at doing or making anything happen for himself. He seems like a really nice guy but I think he doesn't have, or at least hasn't shown, any real part of himself that makes me think he is worth all the gushing and fainting him seems to get.

I think if Jade or Tully goes in the next couple of weeks he will fade into the background and you will see how much he just hangs around and off other people.
 
I'd say Drew's more in the mold of Blair 01 or Saxon 03. He can (sometimes) hold down a sentence without Um & er in it.
 
I don't really care if he hammed it up. He's entertaining and I want to watch the show to be entertained.
 
He's just eye candy for women and they are thinking with their flapping wet vagina lips.
There's not more substance to him than Ed or Matt or Caleb.
 
I'm not a vagina owner & I think he's great, he is eye candy, but importantly not a pot plant, has a voice box with a personality...

Granted, Drew is probably not the most boring guy there, but there is a long way from boring to interesting, and he doesn't make it IMO.
