It's the whole Estelle thing again, because they cant understand her they hate her. Well I cant understand Tim but I dont start I hate Tim posts!

I think people love to hate her because they feel like they're part of a group. They crave the support of the group and feel validated by it. I'm like l.a.r.a in that I don't hate any of the HMs. There are a couple that I dislike because of a recurring pattern of behaviour that I don't like, but even with those people, I probably wouldn't mind them in real life, even if they annoy me sometimes.

Same with me. There are HMs that I don't like what they do, but I don't have to post in a hate thread.

Anyway I've started to like Tully again since the Drew Tully friendship sprung up. She seems more at ease with him than when she was hanging out with the meatheads and I find their conversations quite interesting.

I wasn't talking about you; I was talking about the extreme haters. The people who call her awful things for no good reason.

Oh no I knew you weren't talking about me. I just thought it was weird that you made that point. Tbh I doubt that most people hate her (with the exception of some people) it's just that they find her really annoying (kind of like people who dislike Tim). But the difference between Tim and Tully is that Tim has obvious redeemable qualities which make him good to watch albeit sometimes irritating, while with Tully I think to actually see her redeemable qualities you have to try find them first.

Plus she didn't start off too well in the first week in terms of gaining a fan base because of her negativity. (You can put up the editing argument, but atm I cbf talking about that)

I don't know, it seems like a lot of people really loathe her. Not just on this forum but everywhere. I get what you mean about the comparison to Tim though. It's easy to forgive him because he's funny and doesn't take anything seriously. I guess I've always seen Tully's good qualities, whereas other people are more focused on the times that she's been less likeable.

I think it's just because people's opinions of her accumulate. She didn't really portray too many likable qualities (negativity, crying, etc) in the first week so since then it's probably just snowballed.

Even though she's better now you can't really change people's views (which have been set since her first sook) when they don't want it changed.

Oh I agree about it being great fodder and it making her interesting. I'm commenting on the fact that it makes her unlikable......

Yeah, well I hope people will change their minds about her but if they don't it's not the end of the world. :)
 
i find it hard to see why anyone would like her given what we've seen. Or why anyone would still be defending her. She could shit on a kitten and it the excuses would keep rolling in.
