Episode Day 22 - DOUBLE EVICTION SHOW - Monday 19 August 2

The sole reason why matt stayed is because people vote for him because of his looks. He is not intelligent nor is he entertaining. Anyway, it was disappointing to see rohan go but at least we can count on tully to cause some drama.

The lookers always stay around for a while it's just part of BB and the voting pool. Eventually they fall away though!

random thoughts...

- Sonia actually is dressed almost reasonable. Yet somehow I'm still thinking I prefer the sci-fi outfit. Take you to our leader? sure.

- the lack of recaps is really leaving me ambivalent about the whole thing. Tim and Heidi's conflict? nothing. Xavier and Mikayla? nothing. Rohan and Ben's relationship? first I've heard of it. But thank goodness I know ALL of Caleb's grunt faces.

- Tahan came off looking pretty bad in the fight against the twins. Her initial comment was a snarky jibe, so it's no wonder the twins got up in arms. That said, other than a couple of comments from either side before hand saying they didn't see eye to eye, WE NEVER ACTUALLY SAW THEM NOT GETTING ALONG BEFORE THE TIFF. Seriously, context is everything.

- aside from the initial jab, tahan doubled down on the insults over the fence at the hot tub - and dude, how did she miss mikayla's face, she was practically screaming "I'm so gonna tell on you".

- but then, she triples down by lying to the girls when she sits down to clear the air. I really want to like tahan, but she did herself no favours throughout that engagement.

- and though I like the girls positivity, a) straight to tears was really over the top [again, we have no context because the DAILY RECAPS SUCK WET DONKEY BALLS, but it just seemed "grow a pair"], and b) their double-team talking over tahan when they tried to clear the air was really more volume than content. yes, the primary one speaking made some good points, and in the end they came off mature, but the path there scored them no points.

- mikayla didn't do herself any favours either. aside from making an enemy of tahan (which, btw, was there any fall out from that? hello? recap show?), she has firmly established her reputation as someone you don't want to talk around. that said, a consortium of non models-and-meatheads would be nice, otherwise I see the second half of this season grinding to a caleb-face-grunting halt.

- enough with the ben photo talking. between that and the communication with the outside ("thank you australia!"), i'm loathing every time he comes on screen.

- boo on you BB letting them know of the double eviction the night before. you have forgotten the golden rule: LET THE AUDIENCE IN ON THE SURPRISES, NOT THE HOUSEMATES. Seriously, it isn't difficult.

- rohan's eviction was a given. that said, with Latie safe from nominations, and highly unlikely to go had they been nominated, I don't ever want to hear again how hard intruders have it. the fact is that rohan did himself no favours in the house. your fellow HMs don't vote to save each other, they vote to nominate - they look for red flags, not green lights. and he was waving red flags all over the place with his multiple challenge failures and basic housekeeping laziness. and by not really engaging his fellow HMs, he gave the fans little footage to get to know him (though his relationship with ben was news to me). we're starved for story, but with limited air time soaked up by advertisers, hosts, and the love stories, isolating yourself isn't going to get you air time.

- xavier wasn't such a surprise, as much as tully not being one of the two was a surprise. clearly quite a few people voted to save her for not being a pot plant. and though xavier was trying to not be a pot plant, his antics were rarely that funny and his emotional week didn't inspire voting, clearly.

- that said, mad props to xavier charging through the gate to get real hugs from the safe house mates. BB was once again shown to be toothless with his "go now. xavier. go now. through the half way house door. are you listening? i already told you three times. xavier. xavier, don't make me tell you again. you've been evicted" *yawn*. I don't blame the guy who plays BB, it's the production staff that basically refuse to put the HMs offside. they might as well do away with the rules, because they really have little interest in enforcing them unless they think they can make an event out of them (i'm looking at you, tahan's hairdryer)

- interesting that sonia acknowledged tim's nomination antics. clearly they saw the feedback was almost universally positive towards him and have decided to play it up, but the silence on the event last week was deafening - clearly another instance where a toothless BB was impotent in the face of a challenge.

- finally, though all the attention is currently on the "bros" and ben, I'm sticking by my week one prediction that this season is tim's to lose. fading into the woodwork slightly while the girls eat each other is smart. when the dust clears, he'll be one of the few interesting HMs left, and almost certainly the only one who is both interesting and not loaded with baggage from conflicts. [personally, I'd much rather see the pot plant bros go before the catty girls, but I doubt I'll get my wish]

Yeah, Michael ( mickyb273 ) was raging about that on his twitter. Saying about people voting for people just because of their looks. He was a bit ticked that Xavier left over those like Matt, I think.

Fucking outstanding!

...oh, and one last thought

- jade and ed clearing the air was good to see. yes, jade needed to be hit over the head, but I also think she was able to express that she sees the world different from ed, that she's fine with a bit of fun snogging in the house and not worried about how she's seen or that she might get hurt, while ed is playing a "don't want to sully my reputation" game. great, they don't see it the same, and nothing will happen (probably). that said, can we lay off blaming jade? it takes two to not tango, and don't expect them to never talk to each other or sit next to each other or even in each other's laps ever - they can't get more than 100m from each other 24 hours of every day. (ed: at least until this is over. so just deal)

I'm all for drama but the drama Tully brings is NOT entertaining! She's just rude and needs to get the hell out!!!!

One of the things I hate hate hate during eviction crossovers is that the audience is allowed to scream and cheer whenever a housemate is mentioned. I know it happened when it was on 10, but since BB's moved to 9 it seems like they allow it and kind of encourage it. You could see Matt smirking at the applause when Sonia said his name.

We get it, he's a soldier, people love him, yada yada. But I wish it wasn't so obvious to the HMs.

i just wish someone would give a quick once over of the divider glass with some pine o clean, with all the slobbering going on between drew and tully it's got more dna on it than a crime scene

Yep! Gretel did "quiet as a mouse" so well! :)

^^Yes, this.

Plus Sonia gives away who's going in the little house interviews, by the tone she uses. I knew it was definitely Rohan and Xavier then and there. Now the house knows that Matt and Ben are audience faves they won't bother putting them up, I guess? So depressing.

In fairness to Tully, the majority of the housemates really like her. Drew certainly does and Matt & Caleb also love her along with quite a few other housemates so I'm actually glad she's still in the house. Sure she cries, but at least she doesn't make you cringe like Xavier and Rohan did!

How does the house know that the audience likes Matt and Ben? Sonia said "in no particular order, these are the people with the most save votes..."
