HOUSEMATE ED (because i'm shallow)

Okay *puts on tin foil hat*

It's just certain things he does that are typical "straight-acting-closet-inhabitant" behaviors. He has the motivation to be closeted, too, with the football background, God knows the AFL doesn't quite encourage it and if he came from a family like the football parents at my high school (which is apparently the biggest high school for drafting in Australia, Prince Alfred [aka Ed's former school] is pretty big, too) it probably wasn't exactly... an open environment.

Moving on from that completely speculated analysis of his past, it's just little things. Like I know he has this "gentleman" reputation but when we've seen him talking about the girls in the house to the guys in the house - from what I've seen/can recall, at least - he makes those general dismissive "mmm" and "yeah" noises. He doesn't seem to be interested in flirting or the girls in general.

Take Jade. Nine and the people in the house are trying to push them together, and maybe he's just not into her and that's all good. She might not have much of a personality but she's still an attractive, nice and smart girl. She's open about liking him and he knows she likes him. Tonight she flirted with him blatantly and he just changed the subject, basically, and tried to ignore it even when she pushed a little for him to acknowledge it. It just reinforced my thoughts.

Plus I thought he seemed a little too interested in Ben's "perfect man". Not that I think he'd be into Ben.

*takes tin foil hat off*

Edit to clarify: I know I'm probably wrong about everything and he's straight as an arrow, but as I said in a post a couple of nights ago - once I've thought something, I can't unthink it and I start to build up these crazy theories.

Brilliant assessment to that point of view! Bravo~

Remember though, Ed did come up to Jade and give her a fairly passionate kiss before she left last night (it's in the live feeds) - it was his choice to go up to her and it certainly wasn't a friend to friend kiss. He's definitely not gay, he might be closet bi-sexual at the most, but even that I don't believe is true.

My gaydar isn't even twitching with him, I am 100% certain he is straight

Who is his best buddy in there? Who will he give his power to do you think? Oh Xavier, that's right of course, or has he changed?

Ed's superpower might not be the same as Matt's last week I.e. he mightn't have to choose anyone to give it too. Last year I'm pretty sure we had a different variation of the nominations superpower each week.

According to a promo they'll be showing "the first real kiss" between Jade and Ed tonight on the show.

Oh Ed...*shakes head*

I love how all the straight people are having this absurd debate about Ed's sexuality, while all the actually gay members here are still nonplussed that he is anything but straight.

I also believe he is 10000% straight btw.

Wow, I can't believe all the gay talk about Ed. He would probably laugh at the suggestion! How come people think he is? I mean I could be wrong but what's the basis for this accusation?

lol hardly an accusation. More so an observation/opinion more than anything else. For what it's worth i don't think he's gay but i'm your everyday heterosexual bloke who has trouble picking out a gay male who doesn't talk in a camp voice and swans around like a princess. Either way he seems like a decent and genuine guy.

My gardar isn't going off.

But at the same time he has a distinct disinterest in females. I knew an amateur rugby player with a girlfriend, but he also had an old profile on a gay site; sometimes its hard to tell.

OMG!! It's the ski instructor all over again!! Jade back to Drew in 10-9-8-7-6.....

He is like a shell, pretty on the outside, hold it to your ear and all you can hear is the ocean

Apparently Ed is in this weeks NW mag about his secret heartache. What is it? some bullshit or something that could explain his personality. Its prob just about his footy injury, cry me a river

I would say the injuries that ended his AFL career. Cry me a river? Would be pretty upsetting to work your arse off to get to the top level of a professional sport, a sport that you love, only to have injuries end it all.

Well we are just assuming thats what the story is about. What about if your mother couldnt remember who you are?

a distinct disinterest in females? Just because he doesn't want Jade? That's a bit of a jump to conclusion

I know we are. Obviously there are worse things in life. I was just saying I thought that "cry me a river" comment was ignorant.
