‘Big Brother: Secrets & Lies’

Dan is SUCH an idiot.

Yeah I'm starting to actually dislike him. He's such a damn drama queen and fucking rude to boot. He sounds like a whiney six year old girl at times. "I don't like the waaaaay you speaaaaak Callummmmm, it's sooo aaaawkwarrrrd" proceeds to take the piss out of Callum's body language. Then interrogating him "tell me about Gina if you know her so well tell me all about her"

I don't mind Wolfy. I think I'm the only person in the entire world who does but I do.

I'm not real keen on all of them except maybe the twins.

I'm actually beginning to really like Dexter. He's a snot but he's really interesting to watch.

I looked up 'narcissist' in the Oxford English Dictionary, but it just said "refer: Dan BBUK"

He is seriously off the scale.

I'm still a massive Dan fan, because he's by far the prettiest HM and I do find him entertaining... However I have to agree with you... He needs to lay off the dramatics... He's constant need to asses people is getting to be a bit much... He was one of the most popular HM's in the beginning and while the public seem to agree with him it's gotten to the point where he is too one dimensional...

I would not describe Dan as narcissist... Compared to previous seasons Dan is a saint...

Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include:

- Believing that you're better than others
- Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness
- Exaggerating your achievements or talents
- Expecting constant praise and admiration
- Believing that you're special and acting accordingly
- Failing to recognize other people's emotions and feelings
- Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans
- Taking advantage of others
- Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior

- Being jealous of others
- Believing that others are jealous of you
- Trouble keeping healthy relationships
- Setting unrealistic goals
- Being easily hurt and rejected
- Having a fragile self-esteem
- Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional

I'd say most of those attributes apply to Dan.

Dunno my mother is a narcissist and I'm pretty good at picking them and Dan isn't ringing any alarm bells just yet although the rage about wolfy not giving up her cigarettes and Callum nominating him is a bit suspicious.

I don't think he is self absorbed enough to be N. He spends plenty of time talking to the others and finding out about them (interrogating) narcissists don't usually bother to find out about other people they just like to talk about themselves and get bored very quickly with information about other people.

I am conflicted about the fake eviction. Are there no rules in BB any more?
You know, about being cut off from the outside world.
Such a game changer with Gina and Dexter walking out to crowds chanting their name.
BUT so much fun too.

I'M SO CONFUSED.

I have to admit that Dan does shit me. He's so vain. Colouring in his grey stubble with mascara? Here's a man who obviously takes care of his physical appearance at the gym, BUT STILL SMOKES. Ugh.

As for the eviction.. the audience didn't do them any favours with the Get Wolfy Out chant... and they knew it wasn't an eviction! Idiots.

Talking to the oyster... gold!

They had no choice really - I guess more evidence this is a last minute fix is that the eviction doors weren't designed with it in mind. In previous years when they've done a fake eviction they've been able to do it without the HM leaving the house as the housemates didn't actually see the evictee leave the house itself.

Lol half the world has narcissistic traits, I've nursed diagnosed ones at work and they are on a whole different level to the ones the general public chuck the name at.

No... It's not as if Gina or Dexter were really out there for any amount of time that it would spoil things for them or the rest of the house... If anything the fact that HM's can hear the chanting and booing on eviction nights does more damage...

Unlike Ginger Tim he isn't trying to hid his vanity... And it wouldn't be the first time someone attempted to be healthy and still smoked... In fact my "ex" is a nurse and smoked for years... He would also do a yearly charity run in his underwear...

I agree with you about the get Wolfy out chants... Totally ruined the moment...

I don't mind that Gina and Dexter went out to the crowd. Yeah, it may raise some red flags with the other housemates why they were evicted if they got such loud cheers. But it doesn't really give Dexter and Gina an advantage. If anything, they have to be even more careful about how they act. They got cheers last night, that certainly doesn't mean they will get cheers when/if they're eventually evicted. A lot of things can change the public's opinion in a very short time - just look at Wolfy and now Dan.

Speaking of Dan, he doesn't really annoy me yet. Yeah, he may take things a bit far sometimes. But I'd much rather have Dan in there over some of the other housemates!

I've never been a fan of the twins and now I'm curious to see if they will try to avoid Wolfy now because of all the boos. It'll be interesting to see what they (and to an extent, Sophie) do next.

I agree about the house hearing the audience - I will always prefer Gretel's 'quiet as mouse' approach.

But Dexter and Gina only heard their names chanted once they were on stage; and they would have seen banners - not just about themselves but also about Dan (and Wolfy, but the audience's lack of love would have been no surprise at that point); and it is a full sensory experience being with the crowd, rather than it just being house noise that they can't be 100% sure of. It's like the eviction live feed where a few of them were suggesting that Wolfy's week one chants must have been negative, after hearing week three's - point being that things get confused when you are inside the house and you don't have more information to work with. That's the idea!

But it doesn't really give Dexter and Gina an advantage. If anything, they have to be even more careful about how they act.

That's what I'm talking about. These two were doing just fine and now there is a risk that they could pull a Wolfy and reveal enormous unattractive egos that turn the audience against them. It may or may not happen, which is now irrelevant as it is what it is, but my point is that there is now a risk of behaviours being changed beyond the normal confines of BB's usual isolation.

But don't get me wrong - I'm loving it. And BB definitely needs to mix things up to keep ahead of the HMs.

Yeah, to make it look legit they really had to do it this way - and as Rylan said on BOTS they didn't send them out together so it would be more realistic. The Wolfy chanting really looked suss though, but hopefully the HMs remember that the audience are occasionally wrong, like Aaron's finale - boos for the winner.

I am really liking this series of BB. It's very clear now that it was the best choice for Sallie to be evicted in week 1. I really love Gina as a housemate - she's so ridiculous in every way, yet still likeable. I hope her time in the secret house and her knowledge of the public's opinion of her don't influence her behaviour in the house like Wolfy's behaviour did after hearing her name chanted, but it probably won't seeing as it's one of the reasons Gina came to dislike Wolfy.

She's definitely my favourite; ridiculous and over the top to the point of being unintentionally hilarious and likeable. I really like her honesty about herself and her fellow housemates; she's not concerned with winning over friends or fans and just wants time in there to boost her own profile. It's strangely endearing. People might not agree, but I feel she is in many ways like Nikki from series 7 in that respect, except she's actually spoiled and rich instead of just wanting to be rich. I am finally caught up to the series, and I've been enjoying it. That shot of Gina saying "Secrets and Lies I love you", and then closing her eyes and taking a spoonful of ice cream was fantastic. I don't know whether she actually auditioned or was just picked by producers after that article appeared in the Sun, but she was fantastically cast.

As for the other housemates, I still am trying to make up my mind. I generally like Dan, and I do like Charlie. I'm not sure what to make of Dexter, but I like to think he is being honest and his intentions are good, and if that's the case then I think he's quite likeable. Wolfy is grating, and I think she's gone in there with a poorly thought out idea of how to win the public over. The "WOLFY" chants came after she was upset over the "unhygienic" and "unattractive" labels because people genuinely felt sorry for her, but then she became too cocky and tried too hard to appear victimized. She's young and naive though, so I am not going to give her too much hate, but it really is for the best that she is evicted soon. I think she should use this extra week she's been given to calm down and perhaps improve her image, so that she can be evicted to a less hostile crowd.

I find Jackie forced in many ways, especially when it comes to those little "shows" she puts on. Jack and Joe can be quite funny, but they can be quite annoying too. Sophie is sweet, but not too interesting, as is Sam. I don't really like Callum, and I think Dexter and Dan may be right about him. Daley has come out of his shell a bit and seems likeable enough - he seems to be a deep thinker so it'd be interesting to see if he will show more of who he is as time goes by - this thing with Hazel won't do him any favours though. As for Hazel, I like her as a housemate, but she seems to be growing into the role of a "villain", although I don't think her intentions are malicious. She could survive against Wolfy or maybe Callum, but she will probably be evicted midway through the series.

First series of BBUK I've been watching regularly since series 9, and I'm really liking it so far. I stopped watching BB9 midway through because it fizzled out, but if this one continues as it is, I would like to see it through to the end.

Wolfy is ridiculous... All of these animals talking to her telling her secrets and the likes yet she only seems to be saying anything after the fact... She's obviously just making it all up as she goes along... I loved how BB basically made her look like a fool in her personalized task the other day... And I'm also liking the fact that the rest of the house are starting to really turn on her... I agree with you that she is young, naive, and has a poorly thought out game plan...

I've never actually watched a full series of BBUK... In fact any time I've tried, I usually end up forgetting about it or getting so back logged that I can't get caught up... This is the first series were I've been stuck in from Day 1 and I've even got a few IRL friends addicted as well... Series 9 fell flat for me and the constant "Happy House" antics really ruined things for me... IMO and looking past the obvious rigging and planted HM's this is the best series since BB7...

Dan is still a favorite of mine... Hazel was a favorite but is slipping since VT-Gate... I've always been a fan of Gina and Dexter my biggest surprise and has made substantial gains since the first week... I initially wanted him to go...

I think it's nice to see a series where the so called "nice" people are in the majority but the bigger villein types or more controversial HM's are actually more popular with the public...

It was pretty funny to watch Wolfy in that task. She says she charges £50 for one of her animal talking sessions, despite admitting later that the animals only ever have messages for "her" and she had to guess everything else. You could see her relief at getting just one right, as if to say "Oh thank God, I'll still be able to trick people." I guess being a charlatan pays good money. It was also bizarre seeing her meditating and saying "Thank you Dex" after he was evicted. I'm expecting she is thankful to have another week to try and become beloved again, so it'll be interesting to see if her behaviour changes this week.

Haha, I'm the same - I've managed to persuade one of my friends to watch this year's series so I have somebody to discuss everything with regularly.

I'm glad to have some likeable "villains" too. I think it is their honesty that is making them so likeable, they do come across as genuinely good people. Being flawed and honest is something people can warm to. I'd love to have some similar characters in BBAU this year.

I have to say though, one thing that is really grating me about these housemates is how often they are throwing the phrases "at the end of the day" and "you'll see it when you get out" about. Agggggghh!

I spat out my drink when Wolfy said a daddy long legs told her she was safe from eviction! I never knew these blind creatures were so wise and knowledgeable. What are their sources?

I'm enjoying the series so far but feel once Wolfy goes this week, the other characters aren't strong enough to take her place. Hope I'm wrong.

What I do love is how your opinions on these characters change quite dramatically.
