Estelle appreacian thread (i can't spell)

Estelle truly was gracious in defeat. Maybe I should take a lesson out of her book instead of screaming at the television and throwing a spoon across the room (such a Ben thing to do). ;)

Ben 40, Layla 31, Stella 29. And Ben proposed to his Ben on stage and made the gay marriage statement. Group hugs and happy ending.

Predictable, what BB and Ch9 wants publicity.
Probably why they protected him.

I have a feeling that Ben talked about the proposal while in the house and that is partly why all the recent evicted housemates wanted him to win. Quite a few of them said he deserved to win so he could start a family with Ben.

You're a good person, l.a.r.a. :)

Me, I can't find it in mysellf to be so generous of spirit to someone that showed such a lack of class to a young woman in front of the whole country. It depresses me that so many people voted for someone like that.

Thank you v-tone. I think Ben will be forgotten but not Estelle.

IMO he won because some people with money voted for him a lot. Estelle I believe was loved by a lot more people like me, who couldn't spent enough money to save her.

I truly believe her fans base is far higher than Ben. Estelle had to be saved to many times :( Ben won because of that

I'd be happier if I felt Ben won on entertainment value (even if it was twisted entertainment) rather than on what seems to have been on his sexuality. I was so happy when Zach didn't with series 7 as I thought Aleisha deserved it more. Still don't know why Layla was second.

I can't wait to catch up with her! I'll defiantly let her know about this thread and I'm almost certain she will come here and thank you all! Love too you all :)

Thanks Viennamoo.
Btw your avatar is the best, it just sums up Estelle.
:D

At least Estelle left the show with her integrity in tact.

She should be enormously proud of her time in the house. She has been quite an inspiration.

Ben might have won, but how many people did he step on to get there?

This.

I am feeling so deflated now.

But Estelle is still the real winner to me.

Nop! LOL not a Ben thing to do, glass of water would have been his thing to do :)

Wow, the little scheming bitch had them all wrapped around his little finger with elaborate self serving fabrication after elaborate self serving fabrication. His clique were certified idiots after all, it reminds of all the great strategist of Survivor past. Kudos to ben for manipulating those fools, that's all I'll give him credit for.

Something really fishy with this.
Ben must have had a call centre voting for him.

We had been saving Estelle every eviction, I guess not everyone could keep paying out the money.
Had Estelle not been nominated so many times we would have been able to give more at the end.
Either way Estelle is still a winner, she has shown us not to give in and to stay true to yourself.
Look at all the wonderful new friends she now has! Winner!!!!

Yes, Ben was funny and entertaining. However, (most of the time) he was funny and entertaining at the expense of other people. Can't get on board with that, and I can't understand how people could.

I would love to know how she is going. :) She is in my heart and will never forget her

My guess a lot of the voters in the past 2 days where infrequent viewers and never got to see the full artillery of venom ben was capable of. So they have this idealised version of ben in their heads and not a full accurate picture of who he is as a person.

That's what I'm hoping for anyway because I shudder to think this is what Australians think is acceptable behaviour.

How disappointing. On one hand, it's so upsetting that the public would voe for a person like Ben to win.

But then I remind myself:

HE NEVER WOULD HAVE WON IF THEY HADN'T SHOWN THE PERCENTAGES.

ESTELLE IS THE RIGHTFUL WINNER OF BIG BROTHER 2012 AND WE SHOULD NEVER FORGET THAT.
:)

I had a feeling they didn't want her to win it. If she won it the issue of bullying would have been talked a lot. She would have been known BB winner who got bullied and they never did anything about it. They wouldn't want that type of publicity. Whereas with Ben the first gay guy who won it, it never happened before. I still think there will be backlash about the bullying because he was the number one instigator.

I have seen a lot of comments around of people just dismayed she could lose to Ben at how horrible he is.

I think we have to face facts, people don't care about the mistreatment of others. In this case people applauded and cheered it on or didn't care.

There seems to be that great divide of, "Ben is a nasty piece of work" and "He was entertaining." There's no middle ground. The simply fact remains Ben's behavior should have completely made him have no chance of winning.

I really don't get it.

I know the haters pounce on comments like this. I truly think the divide was between compassionate, caring, empathetic people and people who are not. I wrote some comments on here a while ago about the behavior in the house. How there's a lot of people who have a fear or dislike of people they don't accept or know. How in the house people formed and in group. Then everyone not accepted was an outside. A lot of the problems with people like Estelle were that they were not welcome, they were an outside. The annoyance was them simply being there. Not because of anything they did.

Estelle enters a room, their prehistorical tribal sense make them have an emotional response. They can't just not care. It's how Estelle, Ray ect, could be annoying doing nothing. It's simply that they were not welcome and people can't be around others.

Now I have mentioned how people like this in society generally show bad behavior. It's why most drunken fights happen in nightclubs. People go out, they can't stand to be around strangers. They are in enemy territory and on edge. They drink, it gives them judgement impairment and they fight because someone looked at them funny.

Anyway, so this was going on in the house.

Now I had also written about different kinds of people who watch Big Brother. There's those who watch and just kind of observe. They see what's happening, the like the interactions and so forth. Then however there are those that watch it as if they are in the house, or want to be in the house, or imagine being friends with the people in the house. Laughing along and so forth. Of course these people are drawn to the bigger personalities and the popular group. These are also the people that tend to just side with one part of the house, take what they say as word. Don't actually make up their mind on their own. It's why we can have long arguments on here, where people argue someones version of events. Even when we saw footage that completely contradicted it. To them, their side, their friends in the house is who they are sticking to. Anyone on the outside is the same.

I think the general feeling of friend or foe that housemates have. Taps into these feeling in viewers that wish they were there, or view housemates as friends. It's guided a long by the constant talking and bitching. In a strange kind of way people feel as if they're sitting with their friends when this happens. So the attitude and the base level dislike transfers over.

This is why when someone goes, "that person doing that horrible thing isn't good." Will have people going nuts defending them. Someone is attacking or criticizing someone in their weird perceived Big Brother tribe.

So I think this is why Estelle lost. You see the hatred for her. It's unjustified. Completely unjustified. I mean, no one can even try and explain it. We get comments like, "she's boring." Truth of the matter is, it's simply because she's not one of their chosen group. They have a transference of annoyance when she's on screen. So they in turn hate her.

The flip side of this, Ben was the most charismatic person left. I have said before, he has a glib charm. Which goes into my personality assessments of him which I have explained in great detail elsewhere. So simply people saw him as one of their group. They then excused his behavior. After all, he was doing it to an outsider, who for being an outside simply deserved it.

I hope this makes sense. I can't be bothered proof reading it.

But yeah, it's viewers who pretend they are in the house, or watch it on a level like they are. Who then get suckered in a group and all the failings of that.

No matter what Estelle can hold her head up high. She did herself proud!

Agree with all of this. Something is amiss with the how events have unfolded and you're probably onto something.

I have watched so many big brother seasons , mainly UK and my favourite always ends up 2nd, 3rd or 4th. i've always been gracious in defeat and understood why the person won. Even if i didn't agree. This is the first time ever, I can't understand why that person won. It's a first.
