I think he was with Layla as much as it could get him into the main group in the house. Though the public have the final say, and many have obviously disliked the control the Ben group has had over this whole series.
 
I thought it was at how low his percentage was. Surely. Or my wig's too tight. But good joke!

He guessed that Michael was 3 last.

The top 3 he said

Benjamin was 3rd, Estelle 2nd & Layla 1st.

After it was revealed Estelle was 1st, that's when he put is hands to his face.
 
Maybe he thought he should have been with Ben... hehhehheh

my interpretation was that he was shocked Layla was third rather than second, because surely he knew that Estelle was popular when he entered the house.

Nope he knew Michael was going to be in fourth he said it right before they showed it.

I thought he was upset because Layla was not in first but it does make sense to tie that into having picked the wrong chick to flick.
 
I think he realised that Layla has been bitching endlessly about the hot favourite and now he won't get a car.

If Layla wins BB not only will Zoe kill Michael, Layla's father will kill Sam for swindling a car out of Layla. "See how we go on the outside let's go on a date but can we pick the car up first". He's dodgy.

You've nailed him : p p. it's obvious he wants something in return for the time spent in the house cosying up to Layla. hahaha
 
He's not that into her. There's no passion. Just bored smooches. Michael I believe. You can see him aching for Estelle but when he touches her he grins his stupid head off.

To me it seems with Michael, he'd rather be anywhere else than sitting with Estelle. Whereas Sam did look interested and seem to be quite eager for Layla. Of course whether you believe he did that because he really liked her, or because he thought it was a game plan, I guess comes down to what you actually think of Sam. I'd go for the latter, but then I never liked Sam.
 
Sam wants Layla's car. Can't get much more scheming then that.

Michael has to be careful because of crazy Zoe. As he said, it's like having your ex in there terrorising you.

I think his ex is/was like Zoe, he mentioned about it the other day, it was on Live Updates
