I'm a, I'm a, a Diva
I am biased as I think anyone that gets a tattoo other than perhaps remembering a dead child or military services is an idijit. I find michaels exceptionally dumb but give him a point for placement where it would not impact him normally.
I just think most tattoos are a bad idea and identify to me people with poor reasoning skills. I also too often find heavily tattooed people are often very boring and use their body art as a way to try and be interesting without a personality. Anyone with a sleeve or neck tattoo clearly falls under this.
Ugh, I'll make him wear socks when he's around me.
I too don't like tattoo's in general, aside from tamoko and even then it has to be relevant to the individual, it depicts your genealogy and is a tribute to your ancestors. It's also an expectation and something your ancestors have done for many, many generations.
In general though, yes, it's an attempt at creating self identity and trying to be unique. Much like calling your daughter Kymbalei instead of Kimberley.
