Oh yes! I had heard about the "shagging" motel!!

Years back on a family trip we drove past & my older sister who was 18ish at the time (I was 10 or so) said that she was going to go there & dad was NOT impressed! I just remember dad fuming & not knowing exactly why, & that that big pink poodle sign had something to do with it!

hahaha thats hilarious, yes for many years it was the worst kept secret on the coast and russ hinze was the police commissioner or something maybe even a minister i think so the rules were very lax. It was built in the 60's i think and i know my mum and dad holidayed there waaay back and my mother was always quick to retort "It wasn't like that then'

yep almost as legendary was the pink elephant bar in surfers at the old chevron. It was very very camp and that was another worst kept secret but all of the premier entertainers in the late 60's 70's ended up getting tanked there.

Kristy's dad...and yes i could contribute half the script! i have a 35mm slide of one night when sir robert helpmann was at the pink elephant with barry humphries, Nureyev and Sir bruce small when helpmann decided to emphasize a ballet routine (he was the director of the ballet) took his pants off and performed the opening moves of the first act on the bar.

It was taken by my uncle.

I have thought about it although defamation actions can be damaging and expensive! There are many 'gangster" types who hung out on the coast in the late 60's / 70's the playroom was legendary for drugs etc etc the avenue is a good bar mut but during the week and off peak. It is no good on weekends or at holiday time because If you are a non local the bouncers get the "tude" on

LOL bonnie we was cool, he played licourice stick or clarinet in a jazz combo (akin to a lead gutarist out front these days) and always stayed on the edge of the laws, he started the very first sucessful real estate franch on the Goldy in the early 60's and did very well. They set up Tiki village , the skyline lounge and other hotspots at the time. All the money went to hong kong and back again lol.

although i have never trapped a rabbit, it sounds as though i wouldnt be much chop at it. I did have an uncle who went "roo shooting" i despised him lol

white shoe was 80's thats mickeey gore et al sanctuary cove offshore shelf companies etc etc

dunes,, ? good guess any that were buried were taken out to sea off the 40 fathoms straight off what is now horizon shores marina

LOL that blankie is dead ugly I hope it has asbestos in it along with that mustard colored beanie woolen (my grandma knitted me this cause she hates me) hat.

Yes the valley one would have been cool too1 i dated a girl 10 years ago who had changed her surname she was breathtakingly beautiful. i took her out to dinner and she said my real surname is .........bellino. Loved her even more then we dated for 3 years lol
