I love the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs record "Its Blitz!". It's had quite mixed reviews so far as it's a massive departure from their previous stuff. This is more electro-pop than anything and they're known for their dirty rock sensibilities. But I love it. Karen O is so awesome, she can do no wrong in my eyes.

For a number of reasons, this song has become very relevant to me in the past week:

I've realised that decisions are a bloody nightmare to make.

Its all relative Pop

Agreed. I love it. There's a few songs I haven't heard yet, but I can't fault what I've heard. I love every song. Skeletons is flipping amazing. Dull Life, Heads Will Roll and Shame and Fortune are other standouts.

Are you on the official YYYs forums btw? :)

Yeah, Heads Will Roll and Dull Life are probably my favourites. Loving Skeletons too. So good!

And no I am not on those forums, though I might join actually, I've been looking for somewhere to discuss the album, haha.

Claire, I hope you're not listening to any Smiths songs

:)

If you ever get close to a human
and human behaviour
be ready to get confused

there's definitely no logic
to human behaviour
but yet so irresistible

there is no map
to human behaviour

they're terribly moody
then all of a sudden turn happy
but, oh, to get involved in the exchange
of human emotions is ever so satisfying

there's no map and
a compass
wouldn't help at all

One day
it will happen
one day, one day
it will all come true

one day
when you're resdy
one day, one day
when you're up to it

the atmosphere
will get lighter
and two suns ready
to shine just for you

I can feel it

one day
it will happen
one day. one day
it will all make sense

one day, one day
you will blossom
one day, one day
when you're ready

an aeroplane
will curve gracefully
around the volcano
with the eruption that never lets you down

I can feel it

and the beautifullest
fireworks are burning
in the sky just for you

I can feel it

one day
one day

Ah yes - "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" would just work a treat, wouldn't it?

This comes pretty close, actually:

Cool - I love that song and had kind of forgotten how cool - and now relevant - the lyrics are.

I just realised there's one genre that's been sorely under-represented in this thread: Hip-Hop. I know a lot of people think rap is not even music and just misogynistic rubbish but there is a lot of intelligent rap out there with some great beats and instrumentation. I'm partial to old school stuff, that was when Hip-Hop was at it's peak, in my opinion.

One of my favourites:

Public Enemy - Fight The Power
