The Bachelor Australia 2016

I'm so very much looking forward to this. Do we know a date yet? I'm too lazy to Google.

Some of the ladies (the ones who get dumped early?) have been bitching that our Richie is a bit on the nose. Boooooo!!!

Here are the women vying for Richie's testosterone fragrant six pack of lurve this season. Calling it now; he chooses NONE of these basics. Richie, make it happen! LOL

The 22 women who are bidding to win the heart of Bachelor Richie Strahan
10 minutes ago July 1, 2016

THEY’RE a mixed bag of women vying for love.

The 22 contestants hoping to secure Richie Strahan’s heart have been unveiled as the countdown begins for the 2016 season of Channel Ten reality series, The Bachelor.

Six of the women are from NSW and range in vocations from a former athlete to a yoga instructor.

“I’m just going to be myself and hopefully what I have is enough for him — I don’t plan on changing,” 24-year-old Mia, a student and former high jumper, said.

Glamour model Kiki, whose real name is Kirralee Morris, lists herself as a personal assistant in her entry.

“I’m not going to get in your face, I’ve got a pretty good head on my shoulders,” the 28-year-old said. “I’m intelligent and hold a good conversation. I have my own life and interests and am happy to support him in whatever he wants to do without any fear or judgment.”

Yoga instructor Marja said she was motivated by “love, adventure and trust” by entering the competition.

“I am just a catch,” the 34-year-old said.

Strahan will front the fourth Bachelor series when it premieres on Ten later this month, following the likes of Tim Robards, Blake Garvey and Sam Wood.

He previously entered the reality TV world in an aim to find love on the first season of The Bachelorette, missing out on winning Sam Frost’s affections.

But producers were impressed with the 31-year-old who works on oil rigs in Western Australia and signed him up for his own season.

“I’ve got nothing to hide,” he has told The Daily Telegraph. “There’s no bad sides. I just want to be myself, have an incredible journey and hopefully Australia will enjoy watching it. I’m just a regular guy, a regular Aussie bloke, there’s nothing there.”

ELIZA, 31, EVENT CO-ORDINATOR

· Why did you apply? “Of course for the adventure, but to find love in the most random way possible.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I think he’s a very beautiful, down-to-earth man. I think I would definitely add some flair and fun to his life, and a bit of a challenge.”

KEIRA, 29, ACCOUNT MANAGER

· Why did you apply? “So many of my friends said I should apply for The Bachelor, so I decided to audition and here I am.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I feel like Richie and I have a lot in common. From what we’ve spoken about, I feel like we are at the same point in our lives. We have both gone through self-growth and know what we want.”

KIKI, 28, PERSONAL ASSISTANT

· Why did you apply? “I have nothing to lose, I am hopefully going to gain some new friends, some insight into myself and some confidence to be myself and not fear judgment and hopefully gain a soulmate.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I’m quite an intuitive person. I am not always going to ask him what’s wrong as I can generally tell. I’m not going to get in your face, I’ve got a pretty good head on my shoulders, I’m intelligent, hold a good conversation. I have my own life and interests and am happy to support him in whatever he wants to do without any fear or judgment.”

MARJA, 34, YOGA INSTRUCTOR

· Why did you apply? “Because my intention moving into this year was three words: “love adventure and trust” and this embodies all three of those.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “Because I am just a catch.”

MIA, 24, STUDENT / FORMER ATHLETE

· Why did you apply? “I applied for The Bachelor thinking it would be a good idea. I had nothing to lose!”

AIMEE, 31, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

· Why did you apply? “After my last relationship, I realised males will only be ready for a relationship when they decide the time is right. If a relationship presents itself before that time and they weren’t expecting it, they will become wrapped up in it however the side of their personality which was happy being single will inevitably kick in. I then decided, what better place to meet someone who truly wants to be in a long term, committed relationship, than The Bachelor.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I am a kind, caring and generous person who is always looking out for others and doing what I can to help. I always put the needs of those I care about before my own and can cook a mean meal! I’m happy to sit on the couch and watch sport all day but I’m also up for a night out.”

ALEX, 24, VENUE MANAGER

· Why did you apply? “It popped up on my computer screen and I thought why not? Mum always said to take chances when they present themselves.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “That’s a hard one. I think I’m fun-loving, caring and adventurous.”

GEORGIA, 24, ARTIST

· Why did you apply? “To find love.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “Richie should choose me because I think I can keep him on his toes, wouldn’t get bored, we would definitely challenge each other. We both would help each other and support each other. We’d be a good team.”

LAURA, 24, PROJECT MANAGER

· Why did you apply? “I actually applied for the bachelor because I wanted to open myself up and find love, and it was also a dare by my friends. I didn’t think I’d make it this far!”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I am a ball of energy. I love life. I’m a positive person. I’m really driven in my career. And if he is the one for me, then bring it on.”

TOLYNA, 31, PERSONAL TRAINER

· Why did you apply? “My mum and sister encouraged me to apply so we started filling out the application and I just went with it.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “Richie should choose me because, once he gets to me, he will see the softer side of me. I can come across as quite a strong personality, however I do have that softer side.”

SASHA, 31, EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

· Why did you apply? “Because I truly believe that you can find love on this show, given in the past Bachelor series everyone ended up finding love on the show so why am I not the next one?”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I know I have a quality that not many women have, such as, treating a man like a real man, and I expect the same in return. I expect him to treat me like a real woman of course. I think he will choose me for being genuine, myself, real and honest and open.”

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

SOPHIE, 28, CUSTOMER SUPPORT MANAGER

· Why did you apply? “I thought, why not? I wanted to give it a go. I’ve tried the dating scene and haven’t had much luck with that, so wanted to put myself out of my comfort zone and see how I go.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I don’t think I have anything more to offer than anyone else, I believe we are all here for the right reasons. I have a lot of love to give and I’m very kind, generous, caring and nurturing when I’m in a relationship.”

FAITH, 26, HAIRDRESSER

· Why did you apply? “My sister just kept hounding me to apply for it, because ‘If it is Richie you need to go on there!’.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I’d like to think I’m good wife material! I’m down to earth and have great family morals. Richie and I are very similar.”

JANEY, 27, CHILDREN’S ENTERTAINER

· Why did you apply? “I’m ready to find love and a serious relationship. If you always do what you’ve always done, then you’ll always get what you’ve always got, and so far I haven’t found that. This is a completely different experience, so hopefully it will work this way!”

· Why should Richie choose you? “Obviously Richie should choose whoever he thinks is right. However if Richie chooses me it will be because he is a fun guy and I like to have fun too.”

NONI, 25, SWIMWEAR DESIGNER

· Why did you apply? “I was ready to take that step. I have been holding back in the last couple of years after my last relationship when I was quite hurt. I was ready for a change and believe that I have done enough in my life that I was content and ready to find someone I want to be with for the rest of my life. I have chuck myself in the deep end coming here but it was something I felt like I needed to do to get back out there.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I think we have pretty similar personalities. I am a good girlfriend but more so a best mate. We could do a lot together and keep it adventurous. Every day is a different day.”

VINTAEA, 25, MASSAGE THERAPIST

· Why did you apply? “I didn’t have a high school formal so I thought I could finally get the chance to wear a gorgeous dress. Kidding! I wanted to put myself out there, challenge myself to see if I could do it.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I am pretty honest and upfront so I feel that is good point of myself. I’m ambitious, hardworking, kind, strong and smart.”

MEGAN, 27, HEALTH PROMOTIONS OFFICER

· Why did you apply? “Because I had just about finished my year of singledom and felt that I was ready to move on from that and have a relationship but there wasn’t anyone in my life that I wanted that with.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I think that we’d have a very good connection and be interested in the same things.”

NATALIE, 27, COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

· Why did you apply? “I’m almost 28 and have never had a boyfriend. I’m at the stage where I would love to share my life with someone.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I don’t think he should choose me anymore than he should choose one of the other girls. It depends on who he has the best connection with.”

NIKKI, 28, REAL ESTATE AGENT

· Why did you apply? “I had a girlfriend text me to say I should, so I did! I was lounging by a pool in Bali with another girlfriend. We logged onto the hotel Wi-Fi and took 4 hours to complete the application on my mobile.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I am incredibly blessed to have my family’s continued love and support in anything I choose to do.”

RACHAEL, 31, SUPPORT WORKER

· Why did you apply? “My dad thought it would be a really good idea for me. I love the show and he suggested that I should.”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I feel he’s quite funny and a little quirky. I’m very quick witted and I think our sense of humour would bounce of each other. He’s very adventurous and outgoing and loves outdoor activities and that’s exactly what I’m like.”

TIFFANY, 29, TRAINING ADMINISTRATOR

· Why did you apply? “I’ve been single for a while now and have dated a few guys that weren’t right, so when I saw the ad for The Bachelor I thought if I could date someone who is guaranteed to be an amazing guy, why wouldn’t I take the chance to meet Australia’s most eligible Bachelor?”

· Why should Richie choose you? “I’m just a really genuine, down to earth person. What you see is what you get. I don’t try and cover anything up, I’m fun, adventurous and wear my heart on my sleeve.”

Inconvenient dates, stink lines and air traffic delays: What we know about The Bachelor so far

Richie Strahan ... expect bad dates and stink lines in the upcoming series of The Bachelor.

IN JUST a few weeks, a bus load of singles will roll up to a poorly-decorated mansion and 22 gals will spill out, clomp down the garden path and meet the red head (yes, yes — “strawberry blonde”) at the end of it.

And while a lot of the details about the upcoming series of The Bachelor are being kept top secret, small bits and pieces are starting to trickle out.

Here’s what we know so far.

IT’S NOT HALAL CERTIFIED

“I love bacon and I hope you’re not a vegetarian,” we hear Noni say to Richie upon meeting him. In the teaser clip we’ve been treated to, Noni takes her affection for the cured breakfast meat a step further. Turns out she’s crafty and gifts Richie a bouquet of roses she’s fashioned out of bacon.

YOUR DAD’S A SCRIPT ADVISER

This point is still related to Noni’s meat flower. Just in case the ornamental bacon roses didn’t send off the signal that she’s available, she also drops a meat pun. “Just don’t go bacon my heart,” she says in a monotone, staring at Richie dead in the eye. I think she’ll win.

RICHIE NEEDS ARMPIT BOTOX

Fact: Richie stinks. I even read it inNew Idea. A source bravely came forward and lifted the lid on the scandal.

“No-one knew if he was aware of it, or if it was down to his nerves. But it was noticeable and was certainly a mood killer as far as romance goes,” they told the publication.

It’s not clear if it was a bad breath situation or whether it was more a BO issue. Maybe things are so bad he has stink lines coming off him like in a cartoon. We’ll have to wait until the premiere to find out.

FILMING CAUSED AIR TRAFFIC DELAYS

I don’t know what kind of crane system was used to achieve the aerial date pictured below or what construction site they stole the beam from. Not only does it seem like a terribly inconvenient date to go on, I also assume it prompted air traffic delays and caused Bondi to be temporarily shut down.

Other crap date locations that nobody enjoys but will absolutely be included are: Boat. Family home. Local sporting field and/or stadium.

THEY COULD BE SUPERMODEL BACKPACKERS

Not just any girl can weasel their way onto The Bachelor. You have to be special. And these girls are so special they have supermodel names.

Australia, meet: Tolyna, Kiki, Olena, Marja and Vintaea. It seems that when casting this series, producers just went to Byron Bay, swung open the door of whatever Kombi van they could find and hauled out a bunch of Swedish backpackers. If their goal of finding love isn’t achieved, these five girls could make a cool girl band.

RICHIE’S SEEN A SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

Last year, Richie wasn't great with his words. He stumbled his way through half-formed thoughts and couldn’t really articulate what he was feeling. Cute? Perhaps. Capable of helming an entire television series? Not without media training, heavy scripting and lots of reshoots.

MRS STRAHAN WILL MAKE ONE OF THE GIRLS CRY

If, towards the end of the series, the remaining girls are made to meet Richie’s family, his mum isn’t going to tolerate any sass. She can see right through your BS, thankyouverymuch.

After all, these were her observations after meeting Sam Frost last year:

NEWS.COM.AU caught up with Richie Strahan just days after completing his Bachelor journey to find out how he prepared for the role and whether we’ll be getting any more of those goofy one-liners.

What have you learnt about women after dating 22 of them at the same time?

“That women do cry. I have no idea about anything about women, they're emotional, interesting, there's so many things but I am no closer to understanding women now than I’ve ever been. All I know is that men are definitely from Mars and women are DEFINITELY from Venus.”

How did you prepare yourself?

“A few push ups in the morning, maybe a few sit ups. I’ve been eating my Weet-Bix! There's no way you can prepare for this, if anything I wish I prepared more. At the first rose ceremony, I was like ‘Oh my God, I’m doing this’ the gravity of it hits you and you’re in front of these women and they’re all looking at you and it is just next level. It is so full on. Those rose ceremonies are so intense and jumping on the other side nothing prepares you for that, there’s no training you can do, there’s no rose academy.”

It’s no secret that you were a little shy and a little awkward when talking about your feelings, are you the same person now?

“I’m definitely different, it’s a lot harder as an Australian male not only to talk with a girl about how you’re feeling but doing that in front of 30 other people when it’s your first time doing this, it is hard, it’s not easy. I certainly learnt a lot from the Bachelorette and then going into the Bachelor I just knew I needed to forget all of that and concentrate on the girl in front of me and be raw and honest and that's all you can ask for.”

One of the most endearing moments on the Bachelorette was when you nervously tried to tell Sam how you felt and you told her ‘I am falling in you’. Were you as tongue-tied this time round?

“I think I’ve always been a confident person, but I’m just a normal guy, a normal fly-in fly-out worker that's then in front of a beautiful girl trying to tell her how I feel about her and I'm struggling to find the words and then you look up and there’s three cameras and a sound dude and a couple of producers and you’re just like ‘say something’. It’s learning about how to handle that sort of situation.”

How surprised were you when producers approached you to be the next Bachelor?

“I sat down with the producers and I was like ‘you guys saw that, you guys watched that didn’t you, you want to go through that again?’ It’s just finding the words to properly articulate exactly how you’re feeling, that's the part that I struggle with, I’m a guy, if you ask me how I’m feeling ‘good’ is my answer, not Bachelor talk, that’s not how guys want to talk.”

Was it a no-brainer for you or a tough decision?

“It wasn’t an easy decision. I knew this was going to be a challenging, fun and exciting rollercoaster where potentially I would meet a woman who I could fall in love with, I mean ‘sign me up’. It is an experience like no other. I remember getting out of that limo when I first met Sam and my God, I thought my chest was going to explode and it was in that moment that I was like ‘yes, I’ve never been in this moment before’ and it’s just this ‘wow’. I certainly knew I was going to have these moments going down this path way and life should be lived, life should be exciting and I really want to meet the right woman for me and I threw my faith behind the casting.”

‘Cool bananas’ will follow you around for eternity now, do we get to hear more of your goofy one liners?

“I panicked, I hit the panic button, it was an intense moment for me. There are some absolute pearlers, I don't know what's wrong with me, I think there's some moments that you will definitely enjoy. I am a passionate Aussie, crikey, I think I just say normal stuff but then everyone looses their mind.”

I thought this was a show about helping some people find their true love!?

All of this sounds like it's just another advertising promotional scheme/scam....!
