And they have left behind Carrie's only child, Billie Lourd
Billie is currently starring in Scream Queens where her character wears earmuffs as a tribute to her mother's Princess Leila character. I can't even begin to imagine the pain she is in right now.

Probably the same amount of pain anyone is in who loses people close to her. It was reported a few months ago that Debbie was in bad health.And they have left behind Carrie's only child, Billie Lourd

Mother and grandmother in two days is a little rough though.
Yeah, that what I was thinking. Even if she was in poor health, you can't predict someone is going to have a stroke.

Very sadly.
You're right. There are sad stories everywhere @Tuttle. I'm taking a funeral next week for twin boys born premmie and only lived a little while. One died on 26th, the other on 27th. I presided over their parent's wedding 3 years ago. Whilst absolutely dreadful for the family, the funeral director and I were both saying today that this one has hit us hard too.
I think we respond to celebrity deaths so personally because we feel like we knew them. Even if it's only one way, there's a sense of connection. I think for many it's not faux at all to feel sadness and sympathy.

Omg I loved that movie! I must say the timing is particularly sad for the family. I mean for some, they just get to live vicariously through the families grief. But for the actual family and friends it must be awful. The grief I have endured so far has been separated with time. To lose a number of family members at the same time like we see with car accidents, plane crashes, war and so on is unimaginable.

I get what you are saying. I think it comes down to different strokes for different folks. I think some people just prefer to be involved in grief and loss and personalise it, even when it's not their own.
I am like you, while I feel empathy for the celebrities family, I don't personalise it.

I get it though, celebrities invite us into their lives so to speak and we often grow up with their music or movies or whatever their contribution is, so their absence seems more prevalent than it actually is. To me, death is always sad regardless of the circumstances, and when you feel invested or know details about the deceased then this is heightened. However death and grief are very personal. Sometimes I'll read about a civilian death and feel so saddened, but I am always very cautious that this person is a stranger to me and others are experiencing true grief and how I feel is really not important at all at which point I feel like I am being voyeuristic to strangers suffering.
Some stories resonate more with us, a female close to me in age dying always catches my attention as its more relatable, so I guess it's similar with celebrities dying.
