Tim and Ben on The Today Show - 6 Oct

Did anyone else catch Tim and Ben being interviewed by Karl and Lisa this morning?

Basically, it was to spruik their trip to Gracelands. Unfortunately it seemed to be a prepared script awkwardly acted out by the both of them. It didn't flow so well and their crafted "odd couple" schtick was rolled out repeatedly.

You didn't miss anything that won't be repeated ad nauseum during their show if it ever is made.

I could just picture them rehearsing what they were going to say. Tim setting it up for Ben to do his one-liners.
Role-playing the banter. Selling the "odd couple" Marketing the gimmick, over genuineness.

I think they missed an opportunity to just be themselves and be interviewed for real. It was a definite snippet of what their show will entail. Very predictable stuff.

Wow! This "Crowd Funding" seems to work then.

Just a hypothetical... If there was a possibility to help fund a version of BB that we (purists) were first sold on - The Ultimate Social Experiment. Where 24/7 live feed was available and with no 'production/editing' influences... Would you help fund this?

Mmm... I'd certainly consider it.
 
I still don't understand the target? Are they traveling first class? do they expect people to pay for their holiday? because it doesn't cost that much to fly to America, take some gear (its a webseries) and book a motel/hotel?

I think the specific details are on the site, but from what I understand Tim is paying for him and Ben and the rest is to cover crew - their flights and accommodation, filming costs etc.

Edit: but you're right - it does seem like a high target. Maybe it's also for post-production and promotion?

Oh their crew who probably have millions in the bank from Chris Lilley's shows and screen Australia funding for show such as "It's a Date" right...

I actually wish them well, but the whole thing doesn't exactly scream "we have faith in you!".
 
I think it's fantastic that Tim is trying to help Ben. Ben sounds like he is having a tough time. Tim has no interest himself in going to Graceland.

At the same time, their target for the crew seems way too high. Why not just find local people here? They are coming to America how much local help do they need to get around?

In the U.S., crowd funding usually has a special incentive/ reward to anyone who donates. Maybe I missed that on their page.

Thanks! I didn't see the link. I'm used to it being on the front page.

I know Ben wants to see Graceland, I wish he liked New York! Think of all the movies filmed here. I'm sure they will love it though
