Yes, housemates will move in tomorrow afternoon and viewers will be able to watch it from the first moment. Most interesting housemate for Big Brother fans might be that Alida, winner of the second season and co-host for season 9 and 10, will move in as a housemate. It surprises me a bit because I always had the feeling that she wouldn't move in again (and afair stated so a couple of times).
Pictures from the house should be available in an hour or two. There will be an online press conference in an hour (also streamed publicly on Joyn as a "countdown show") and that's where they usually do the house tour. Photos are released shortly afterwards. They still refer to the house as a container (which I find ridiculous), so I expect them to continue to use a back-to-basics container. Once they moved on from that, they always hated it when people referred to the house as a container.
Press conference on Joyn for anyone who wants to watch: https://www.joyn.de/play/live-tv?channel_id=1121 (probably need a VPN).
I don't expect them to change that much in general. So far, they are doing things exactly like they've done it last year: Announcing the first housemates weeks in advance including one reality tv-person who has an open "we don't speak with each other anymore"-feud with a different person. There is no proper ad campaign, instead they're just running clips from the intro featuring the housemates.
Might also be worth noting: Big Brother - Knossi Edition (a 3-day version run by one of the most popular influencers) will be back shortly after Promi Big Brother. Still no word on another civilian season.

Still a container, but not giving container vibes this year. The courtyard has chipboard covering the walls, the inside has more photo wallpaper. It looks less like they've just thrown junk together and a slightly more uniform design (especially in the kitchen and the bedroom, where all the beds look the same now). I'd say the vibe is BB9 USA on the inside, BB14 UK on the outside.

Might adjust my comments regarding the house feeling to: "BB14 UK on the outside with the cheap feel of the BB10 kitchen".
Otherwise: Not much is changing. They keep the same theme song from last year, which was originally sung by two housemates from the same season. The housemates are singing it themselves again, but thanks to autotune it sounds like last year's version (to my broken ears anyways).
Rules haven't changed either. They still need to stay up at night and press a button every 11 minutes or otherwise an alarm will go off in the house (which didn't work very well last year). Penny (a discount store like Aldi or Lidl) is not returning, so they have a kiosk ("Späti") instead where they have to spin a wheel and determine their shopping budget. The kiosk is run by Aaron Troschke, who won the second season of Promi Big Brother and used to run a kiosk in real-life. The arena is back, too, but this year they're going back to housemates competing against each other.
Last year, they tried to get drama out of a pre-existing failed relationship that only talked to each other via press. They do it again this year, but as a big twist, one of them moves in with his current girlfriend.

Housemates have moved in, more will move in during Monday's show as usual. And the show itself has been quite the same: Housemates will wear coloured sweatsuits, not their own clothes and they only got oats so far.
Press photos of the new house are now available as well:

Last year's Promi Big Brother rated quite well actually, despite airing quite late on most days (some of them started around midnight). It's been the most watched season in 4 or 5 years, depending on what audience measurement you base it on. It was the civilian season this year that didn't rate well on TV at all.. (but official word is that they were happy with its performance online).
I think people's reactions to last year's season was mixed but slightly more on the positive site. I think a majority expects a season like Big Brother 5, which had the most extreme rich/poor divide and huge challenges and last year's Promi Big Brother was none of that. But the return of the live feed created some hype before the season and that moved the initial talk away from having only one house.
The cast was received rather well (despite looking not that great on paper). I think some people got convinced that one house can be the better choice because some of the conflicts wouldn't have happened if people just lived isolated in their own house. I don't think anyone missed a second house by the end of the season. Some of the conflicts were carried by a strained pre-existing relationship, which I think worked for the show but divided the fanbase.
People also reacted positively to having a "Container-Chef", some sort of HoH that was either picked by viewers or the housemates and had some changing power over nominations (especially in the second half). Another feature that blatantly ripped off from I'm a Celebrity but got positive feedbacks are the "Nachtwache", the night watch. On IAC (at least in Germany), pairs of two have to guard the fire all night, which usually leads to interesting discussions or sometimes a bitchfest. They now have to do that on Promi Big Brother as well but instead of guarding the fire, they have to press a button every 11 minutes or it sets off an alarm in the house.
What didn't work out were the mechanics involving food and competitions. They had a small budget of usually 1 Euro per person and that had to be spent within 60 seconds. But they were only allowed to keep their food if they managed to win a game afterwards and they usually failed. So all they had was oats and water, which resulted in hungry housemates that were sometimes just lounging around because they haven't had the energy to do anything. The games were also extremely crappy and I don't think anyone liked those. (They somewhat listened to the fans here though. We don't have the details yet but housemates will compete against each other in the live games again.)
All that said: Are Germans convinced by the back to basics approach in general? I don't think so. It worked for Promi Big Brother, but it didn't work for the civilian season. People complained about people just lounging around and not getting enough stimulation besides the weekly task. So that one might have been too stripped down for German fans.

Thanks. Of course BB Germany has had a divide or two houses more often than they have not, and although I've not seen it as a fan of the concept I get why things like the tasks and challenges may have been the problem and think producers forget sometimes that miserable, tired and hungry housemates often don't make for great viewing.
It's quite difficult to get that task structure right in the civilian series - BBUK just threw too many in with very little consequence for most of them and rarely let things just evolve naturally, whilst the opposite can result in a similar problem too.
I do quite like having a HoH style position with varying power - that can work quite well alongside the traditional nomination process and I always thought one of the things Channel 9 did well when they had Big Brother Australia was the Nominations Superpower. Having an overarching concept like that can make what otherwise would be a series of random twists work quite well.

I think one of reasons why German fans are more inclined to accept a single house these days is the fact that at least the celebrity version sort of became a part of a bigger reality tv cosmos. It's kinda like in the US where The Traitors and House of Villains started to cast reality all-stars for their shows, just bigger. People might start their reality career on The Bachelor, but then show up on a bunch of BB-esque shows afterwards. There are on a different show every year but people hop with them from one show to the next one. And I think all those shows helped bringing German viewers back to a more traditional Big Brother.
That's something we've seen on the live feeds last year as well. The housemates from the reality world quite often discussed the shows they've been on before or just recently filmed. They were talking about how they were able to make contractual demands because they were so established. I hated these conversations but there were a good chunk of people that were interested in these behind-the-scenes conversations.

Launch night ratings are not outright horrible but not that great either. 1.30 million viewers tuned in, which is a 25% drop compared to last year's launch night. It will be fine if they can hang onto that audience. But if it follows similar trends to the last couple of seasons, we might head towards it becoming one of lowest rated seasons or even being the lowest rated season.

Yep.. it airs at 8:15pm German time / 9:15pm UK time on Mondays and Tuesday and then around 10:30/9:30 on the other days.
If you want to, you can stay up all night and watch Big Brother on TV. Launch was almost 4 hours (with ads), but all the other shows will be 90 - 120 minutes, I think (except for the finale). Then you get about an hour of the spin-off, following by the live feed until the early morning when their breakfast TV takes over.

Today might have been the most unpleasing episode of Promi Big Brother so far... it's extremely obvious to anyone that production wants the ex lovers Elena and Mike to talk with each other, have an argument and possibly reconcile in the end. And Elena is having non of that.. right at the beginning of the show, Big Brother talked to them independently and then said that they need to work together today. And Elena's been all "if it's a game, it's fine, but don't force anything.. like we've talked about it" and then went to the toilet crying and complained how they always push her to answer questions about her ex and the way the ask her the questions. E.g. they asked her how it was sleeping next to him and she was quickly to point out that they were sleeping on different sides of the bedroom.
Then they had a competition today where housemates had to stay on a spinning disc for as long as possible. Elena broke down after her round, because the only food they get during the days is a supply of oats. That saved her a bit because producers actually wanted her to go back on the disc for two more spins, this time with Mike. They sold it off as playing for the shopping budget, but since she broke down, they just sent his current girlfriend to compete with him. And they've played a very corny song for them, which they probably intended to play for Elena and Mike.
Not sure why they thought it was a good idea to keep playing this game after Elena already fainted and another girl looked like she just avoided death. But Mike's current girlfriend also looked like she would break down and she might have fainted after they've cut away.
I wonder if they'll continue to push a Mike versus Elena storyline when it's clear that Elena is not interested in playing this game... and that it basically ends in Mike and Elena versus production storyline.
Also, just for reference: Both competitions so far has been 2-vs-2 games. The winning team was able to decide which of them is going to be immune from the first nomination. The losing team has to name one of them to be up for the first eviction.

I think most of it is covered here anyways, but BBfun has a general explanation of Promi Big Brother in English that points out a few differences to other versions of the show.

Promi Big Brother is the German version of Celebrity Big Brother, but it’s not quite like the big international versions you might know, such as Celebrity Big

It will be fine if they can hang onto that audience. But if it follows similar trends to the last couple of seasons, we might head towards it becoming one of lowest rated seasons or even being the lowest rated season.
Bit of an update on this one: Total viewers are the lowest ever for Promi Big Brother (at least for overnight ratings) with about a 20% drop compared to last year (despite the earlier broadcasting times as well). But it's doing quite well in the younger demos and beating the previous year in the ratings. We still have a week to go but with these ratings, I expect the show to return next year for sure.
What might have helped the show with the younger demos is the three-way relationship in the house. Although that one is not working out how they expected it. The current girlfriend had moments of doubt that her relationship might fall apart and that her guy goes back to his ex. But the two exes are not fighting at all and after the drama on Tuesday, production hasn't been punishing anything so far. I think their relationship is as strained (anymore) as media and the show might have portrayed it. And I think that production is a bit afraid of breaking her, because she was in treatment for depressions.
I find the ex-girlfriend (Elena) interesting to watch because she's clearly understanding the show and playing everyone. She played production, she's playing the house and she's the playing the viewers. She knows exactly that production and most viewers don't really like strategic players unless they can sell it very well and sell strategy off as something authentic.
And that's what she does. She's aware of the cameras herself and looked into the cameras a lot, but she accuses the TikTok housemates of doing this and is very smart with how she confronts them. She's been attacking Alida as being too confident because she's already won the show in the year 2000. But she won three reality shows herself, including one with public voting, while the other two rely heavily on social game. She knows what to do.. and I don't blame her for that at all.
I do think she might play too hard in the end and lose the audience for playing the game too much and doing exactly the things that she criticises other people for. Once the audience becomes aware of her being very strategic, she'll lose their support.
