Yeah but he did say he is a compulsive liar, so who knows??? He admitted that he is such a compulsive liar he will live his life as fake people. Yeah we saw a lot of negative, but that's because he has a lot of negative.
I think we have more of a clue who Estelle is than Layla. Layla was just MEH.
I generally get this assumption that people often assume everyone must be horrible. That if we don't see someone as a horrible, deeply flawed person, then something isn't genuine about them. I don't quite get that attitude.
All we have is viewing them in the house. Ben went through it with out any class or dignity. Where as Estelle did. She had easily the hardest time in the house, yet never broke, never was mean and horrible. How is that not just a sign that's who she is? That she's not a mean person. Rather than, "we didn't get to know her." She just had different flaws, flaws we saw plenty of. They just weren't ones of being a mean, judgmental person.
I hear you, and agree.
I guess what I meant, was that there was no denying the evil sides to Ben, and we saw them. I'm not saying that I liked them - or him - or that it was a good way to be. Just that I got a fairly good idea of what sort of person he was. I'm still not sure about the girls.
I agree about the MEHness of Layla!
Estelle is a mystery to me. The housemates seem genuinely puzzled about her fierce following here on the outside. That, along with the usual bias that TV editing produces, makes me feel that perhaps she is not all that *we've been allowed to see and know either. I think the housemates who have lived and breathed her for twelve weeks, would have a better idea than any of us.
(I would have loved Sam to have won. I wanted the intruder mould/curse to be broken. I thought - from what we were allowed to see of him, but more importantly what we witnessed from family and friends video messages from the outside - that he is a lovely human being and actually himself in the house. He was honest and upfront about why he was there, he was kind and thoughtful, and he was genuine right to the end. I so wanted him up on that stage at the finale!)
