Nominations: 3 points vs. 5 points

In seasons 2001-2008, each housemate was given 3 points to nominate two other housemates with.
The format was fixed, where the 3 points could obviously only be split into a 2 and 1 combination.

From 2012 onwards, each housemate was given 5 points to nominate two other housemates with.
There was greater flexibility, where points could be split into a 3 and 2 or 4 and 1 combination.

Which format do you prefer and why?

You used to be able to split your votes 33/66
Now it's 40/6o or 80/20.

I don't know if I have a massive preference either way. I guess it's nice to see when they passionately want someone put and chuck 4 points their way.
