Jade's ethnicity

She said that her father is Italian earlier. Later on she mentioned that she had Aboriginal ancestry in her. Both came as a shock to me considering how light-skinned she is.

What is her ethnicity made up of? I'm sure it isn't just Italian and Aboriginal.

For me personally she looks very Northern European, like Swedish, Irish or Finnish (she never came across as JUST an Italian/Aboriginal mix).

There are photos of her father and her in some thread and he looks quite Italian to me. Her mother, who we saw on wednesday night, looks like a typical Australia with anglo-saxon ancestry in her. Its obvious that Jade takes after her mum predominately but I do see some her dad in her. Basically shes what she said she was; half italian half aussie. Aboriginal ancestry probably comes from her mums side but who knows how far back it is.

I assumed one or both of her grandparents on her mum's side was Indigenous.

It's not like you have to be some specific shade of brown to be actually Indigenous to be believed when you say you are.

Or do you in 2013 Australia? Is there some sort of colour wheel I missed out on when I took the citizenship test here?

Many British/Irish decent Australians have some indigenous blood in them [not all, but more then people realize]... all happened in the early days when more men migrated to Australia, then women.

To the OP, Northern Italians are fair skinned and blue eyed. In Australia we tended to get a lot of Southerners and Sicilians here who were bred with Africans hence the dark skin, hair and brown eyes.

As for being Aboriginal, I can't see it in her mother but I do see that White people will go back centuries to claim the minority vote.
