I actually miss Tully now

Firstly, I understand that Tully was an incredible polarizing housemate. Truth be told, when she was in house I was one of the people who jumped on the "Evict Tully!" bandwagon. But, since she left, I actually came to really like her. I ended up following her on social media.

Watching this season, I actually really miss her O.o At least she was FUN to watch - whether as a fan of her or (as horrible as this sounds, because I do not want to condone bullying) to "hate" her. At least she injected interesting conflict into the house. She made damn good television, and she had people talking - whether that was the Drully saga, or her behaviour all-round.

This year, BB seems to have tried to replicate that drama via Clawson. Let's be honest. Drully caused a lot of talk on social media, and probably contributed to the ratings last year. This year, they tried to do a repeat with Samdra, and now Clawson.

Other than this repeated "storyline" the producers are trying to milk, the rest of the house are so fucking boring! Whether that's because no one gets decent screen-time, or these people are just genuine duds, who knows. All I know is that I want Tully back. As a housemate, she was a train-wreck you could not look away from (I try to say that in the nicest, but most honest way possible).

Honestly, if the producers are set on having a past housemate (funnily enough, only housemates from last season) come back for some weak-ass reason, why can't we have Tully? Sure, she probably wouldn't come back on BB again even if bribed with buckets of cash and social-networking benefits (I think she's learned her lesson, and has been humbled by her experience)... but, still... I can dream.
 
If anything, looking back at this post, I think that what I'm saying is encouraging turning a human being with feelings into a spectacle for the audience's enjoyment. Like, how people used to get a sick sense of pleasure going to Freakshows. It's all at someone else's expense. Sooo, my original post is probably not that compassionate.

I just miss being engaged by BB, and getting swept up into that whole storm of drama. This year is just... a failure, in my opinion.
 
I think the reason the drully situation caused more of a reaction was because I honestly don't think they realized that they were crossing a line initially. It was a genuine emotional response to each other without them realizing that they were falling for one another and they didn't exactly express feelings to each other like clawson have. Clawson just seems so quick and forced and they know they are crossing lines but don't care really. But it's also the fact that that in the drully saga, they both had feelings for each other, whereas with clawson it doesn't seem that way at all. It's two people who have zero control. People responded to drully because the cheating wasn't just touching and flirting, but there was actual substance in their cheating. It was a build up of their relationship where it was unknown to them where it was going.

Another point to be made was that Tully was the one in the relationship and pushing for the closeness, where with clawson cat is the instigator but Lawson is the one in the relationship. I think this is a big reason too.

The biggest reason for the reaction received by drully is the fact that it was an original moment. The clawson thing just seems so recycled at this point that the initial reaction has already been expressed by the fans. It's not going to get the same momentum as it did with drully because when we reacted it was a first, a fresh response. It will never be as good the second time imo.

I think Cat and Lawson both have feelings for each other, though I guess we will never really know until they get out of the house. Also the Clawson thing has been happening for a couple of weeks, maybe even longer than that.


Also the Clawson thing not only has the a difference but also the fact that Cat and Lawson are at different points in their lives.

still didn't illicit the same reaction that drully did though. that was the point of my post. It will never be what drully was
 
@Amelie I get what you mean in relation to this series. Honestly. It's just name checking Tully that caused a reflex side eye before I could stop it. ;)
It's hard to miss Tully. The over exposure! She's everywhere, still trying to collect a cheque. More power to her.
 
I like Tully but putting her in this house with this bunch now, I doubt will give you what you want.

Should have just had Katie/Lisa stay for some crazy times.
