How was Ben a flight attendant?

I think Ben is an entertaining character and seems like an all around good guy. However, the job requirements of a flight attendant are tough, they need to be able to handle all sorts of emergencies calmly, and above all be resilient. I can't imagine that Ben as he is now met the demands of the job. He was probably very sweet and friendly, but seeing his reactions when he is surprised (pillow in the dark) and his general rigid lifestyle and routine, how would he handle the rigors of that job? Could you imagine an emergency landing? He would probably hide in the bathroom. ;)

Is it possible something happened to him and he 'cracked', regressing to his current state that is closer to a child? It is just so odd and am curious what others think. I find him fascinating at times!

When I learned Ben was a flight attendant I thought the exact same thing.

But he was fired wasn't he?

I'm 100% sure this isn't an act, as he has a whole bunch of friends (mainly ex-coworkers) on Facebook saying that what your seeing is exactly how Ben is.

I wouldn't like to be on a plane with Ben...
I noticed in a couple of posts of yours, you seem to hate the guy. You are irrational towards him.

Why? Is he an easy target because he seems the weakest and easiest to pick on?

Just curious...

Seconded. Also, he remains very calm during moments of genuine stress, more than most of the other HMs.

ha I agree but it's funny to think that when I recall him flipping out the other day when they were throwing the onion around!

He sticks around on moments like that and the pillow fight because it's easy airtime for his character. "Oh boys, stop... Boys..." he says while standing there in the middle of it when he could just walk off.

I don't believe Ben is acting per se but maybe accentuating some of some his quirks to endear himself to the voting public. Be honest all the inmates do it to an extent, they're on their best behaviour to win a quarter of a million dollars after all.

Though if Ben's pre-BB persona is something closer to resembling Ben12 then I think he should seriously consider hiring a personal agent and take his talents to Tinseltown. That kind of acting prowess is Oscar worthy, especially since he has been keeping it up for well over a month by now.

I work in a job where I "supervise" people, all doing the "same" job. Some do it better than others. Some are proactive, some are reactive, some are "if I hit you with this big forking stick, will you actually wash you hands?"

Ben's being "fired" (extrapolation from: I had a job, I'm now unemployed; hell, he may have resigned... ) is moot. The guy is a player in a game show.

I'd still like to pull back to the early days of this series, when speculation was about that several/many/all of the contenstants were "actors" of some description. Some even had their official bios edited to omit media activity; some had that reinstated after their obvious media presence was shouted over the internet.

If Ben was indeed a town statue (god, don't make me look it up... google is your friend); he at least has malice of forethought on his side as an "act"; but good work, Oscar-worthy, if so.

Ben might be ok in an emergency but when it comes to things like that, It's probably more of a social problem.

Yeah. All of that. I HATE HIM.

Yes! During the onion throwing thing he could have walked over there and put the onion back instead of throwing it back
