Hey I am a guy overseas in the UK who watches BBAU online and the only think that bothers me is that BBAU is quite dull compared to the UK version which is sorta the same format. The really like the launch and day 2 but its gone downhill from there so I have only watched the first week. Does it get better.

IN BBUK there are arguments, bitching, rivalry within the first week and anyone who has watched the most recent BBUK knows just how good it was, why does BBAU dissapoint from a greta line up at launch

It's subjective. You prefer UKBB - fair enough. Many others prefer BBAU ... why come here just to compare the two?

Im not trying to be rude. I am a BB addict that's why I want to love BBAU. I guess BBAU has a different audience I like to see action.

They don't give the HMs enough alcohol or air the show in a late enough slot for it to be as entertaining as BBUK.

Were previous years like this too. I can see what you mean almost every other day BBUK peps get alchol even then they show swearing, fights, heated arguments none of which I have seen on BBAU and it upsets me as I see the ratings going down

Don't think of BBAU as a whole as what it has become now.

If you're a BB addict, I definitely suggest you watch BBAU seasons 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 to REALLY experience what the Australian Big Brother was and should be. The eps are on YouTube.

Our BB as of last year is like Play School compared to those.

We were never as outrageous as the UK's one is, but it was very good - and a totally different show than what you're seeing now. ;)

It must to sad to see it go downhill, I really wanted to like it maybe if I didnt know about the UK one this one would seem quite good but something happens almost everyday on the uk one- an arguemnt anything. I hear series 3 was a good one what did you think of that one.

BBAU probably isn't as dramatic as overseas ones overall. But first week or 2 are generally boring.

View all of the Timmy/Drew clips; and any of Timmy - those 2 will entertain you. Check the diary room/seafood challenge; and Timmy's fake birthday.
Otherwise this version of BB is a cheat. We, well I, am extremely grateful Timmy is in there subverting and re-directing:)
Also, all Tim's nominations are worth watching, he's a legend.

Honestly, this year and last years BB's are poor form and has strayed too far from the original concepts of the show. They are nothing like what Big Brother used to be here in Aus.

2003 is fantastic - casting and quality of the show was absolutely spot-on, and it was BBAU at its peak. 2004 is also pretty decent, mainly due to the drama and arguments and definitely the controversies (Merlin's infamous live eviction protest, as well as the incorrect eviction). From there, the show just became full of twists and stuff, but drama and quality was still high and the show was still going really, really strong.

As a starter to BBAU, I definitely recommend watching 2003 and 2004 if you're interested. All of the 2001-2008 era is good though.

If only there were ten tim clones

Sorry! Another Q what series of BBUK would you compare BB3 to (if you've seen them all). I think twists can be good as long as you have the HMs to compliment them. Like BB14UK the most recent there have been about 4-5 good twists and this series has been one of the best in a while.

I've only watched bits and pieces from several different BBUK's so I couldn't answer that.

This might be a good question for Kingston?

I actually really like this season, it's probably the first season I have liked more than 50% of the housemates

I like this season the best. better than last year.
Also, the BB house is way better than what it used to be on Channel 10

I like more than 50% and it was something I noted as I watched the launch with the UK one I might like 3-4 people out of 16 here I like 8-10 out of 16 but the HL that I've seen show different characters in a dull way than what the audition tapes showed me . I was expecting thing to kick off big time and all we got was an argument over beds that was hardly an argument and a guy eating icecream in exchange for Tahans hairdryer and she didnt even hardly get angry.

It's edited heaps more tamer now because Channel 9 tries to push a "family friendly" focus.

It's slowly easing up, but yeah... unfortunately they'll never air anything too explosive anymore.

Can I ask, has anything kicked off at all. Is there any major highlight of this series so far for you. I have only seen a few minor arguments that never went anywhere

The only thing I'm enjoying from this season are the housemates. The editing is woeful, the lack of shows now on the weekend is terrible. It's actually worse than last year in those aspects BUT the housemates make the show better than last year. Last year I found it hard to find someone that I actually loved but this year (and for the first time ever with me) the males take the cake! There isn't one male I dislike (that is still there).
