Your gaydar is off. Sam is subpar for a modern day metrosexual let alone gay. Never got an inkling he is gay. He seems pretty secure with who he is.

To the OP, there is no way Sam is gay, I doubt he is even Bi. It's not weird for some guys to call other guys attractive, although I will say it's very strange for any guy to think Michael was good looking. Usually straight guys find mainly men good looking (like Clive Owen, guys like that).

Lotsa girls think I am gay or bi because I might mention a guy is good looking.

Yeah commenting on a guy being attractive is something a guy comfortable with their sexuality , gay or straight, says not someone who is hiding anything to be detected.

Gaydar is much more subtler than a guy saying another guy is attractive or blowing a guy in front of you.

Many gym guys admire the physique of another male, not because they want to have sex with them but because that's what they want to be, or if they already do look like that (as Sam does), they see a kinship, a group they feel part of.
