Friday Night Live back in 2025?

Whether you love it or loathe it, Friday Night Live was a key part of our C10 era BBAU experience!

Will it be coming back in 2025? or will it be confined to the dustbin of history?

Will C10 bring back the original and the best FNL challenges? or will the modern political and legal climate force their hand into literally playing it safe?

Lets discuss all things BBAU 2025 FNL related here! :)

I'm probably friday night live's biggest fan that exists hahaha.
I have spent hundreds of hours working to try and find the show's spinoff: friday night games and so far I've located 6 of the 10 eps.
I also found every episode of big brother friday night live in UHD at the start of the year.

It is probably the longest running physical games-- game show that ever existed (in terms of sheer hours, 64 eps, min run time 1 hr, max run time: 2 hrs 12) and probably the most successful. It got just over 2 million viewers in it's first season (bb05) on multiple friday nights in a row.

I first saw the show when I was 7 years old and it was the very first thing that inspired me to want to make television a career one day.

I would jump at the oppertunity to work on the show if they rebooted it butttt sadly I believe it will never return.

This show was a product of it's time. What made it great was the hosts and their chemistry. With just the housemates playing the games it would feel like another big brother showdown even if it had the name: Friday Night Live.

The games would also be much tougher to coordinate nowadays. Meaning the entertainment value could be sacrificed significantly, which ultimately means it could be a major flop.

I think it's a massive risk for ten to bring it back and also, the show was last aired a whopping 16 years ago. I think barely anyone remembers it and not enough remember it to guarantee the show will do well in some way.

I think FNL did/will do a great job of drawing primary school age children into watching BB with their ratings-counting parents.

It would be amazing to see it back with the original hosts!! If that happened and the original task department returned then I'll get fkn hyped. But those two things have to happen for it to work.

My feelings on FNL are well known but I think a 10 revival might feel incomplete without it, but it's also something they could hold back as a selling point of the second or third season and focus on the basics in the first.

Needs to be kept to an hour max though.

Great ideas. FNL was an entry point into BB for many of us, and for some of us FNL was the only BB our parents would allow us to watch.

yea my brother had to convince my mum to let us watch fnl because she didn't like it that big brother was in the title.

I agree with brekkie, If they bring it back it needs to be 1 hr max. Maybe 70 mns but that could be pushing it... it does need to be live though. The live element was what made it so great.

Yes, Australia has somewhat forgotten how to do live TV but I believe it was genuinely live back in the day. Not sure if the brief "Saturday Showdown" on Channel 9 was.

If they don't bring it back though doing an FNL style task on the Thursday to air in the Friday show could be a compromise, and indeed test the water for bringing it back more permanently.

Australia having a mishmash of time zones/daylight savings yay or nay does not help either.
