Housemate Ed is always chewing

Has anyone notice that ed is always chewing? I feel like there have been times where I’ve actually seen the gum. Are they allowed chewing gum in the house or is this nicotine gum?

In this “itchy titchy” game that they are playing on the livestream right now, which is a version of categories. The category was shops found in Australian shopping centres. Ed’s first answer was Smoke Mart and someone (not sure who) remarked “of course” after he chose that shop.
