Big Brother returning to NZ TV

I'd really like to see a locally produced version of BB in New Zealand. Their TV shows are typically produced better, and it might be closer to Aus BB than other international adaptations.

As long as Paul Henry doesn't host.

I would love a BBNZ. The thing is, it's probably way too expensive to be made in NZ.

Yeah if we never made one during the BB hype days (early 2000's) then I doubt we ever will. Hard to make money off reality shows in this country, there simply isn't much of an audience here.

Could the use the AU house and team but have NZ HMs? Just a thought..

Doubt it, during the 9 months of the year the Aus house is empty they are planning/renovating for the next season. Fitting another entire season in during this time might be a bit of a stretch.

Nah for a few months it's open to the public (Dreamworld visitors) to tour.

Probably won't and wouldn't happen. Just could be a way of making it cheaper to have a NZ version

Using the Australian house isn't a bad idea, NZ has done a similar arrangement before with Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? New Zealand. They used the Australian set and just had a Kiwi host and contestants.

Would be a bit strange to have Australian audiences at the live evictions etc who can't (legally) watch the show. So no, this would never work unless it aired in AU as well.

Simple - rent-a-crowd like they did for nominations. People will come to live tapings. I've been to a live taping of a show that never aired.

It could air in a low profile slot in Australia (e.g. 11.30pm weeknights on GO!)

If they were able to produce The X Factor NZ, The Block, New Zealand's Got Talent, NZ Idol, MasterChef NZ, then I see no reason why they can't try one season of Big Brother New Zealand.

Yeah eventually something has to work. Hahaha.

I found the perfect diary room chair.

Love it.

I also noticed that Fridays episode is an hour long when it should be 30 minutes...
That's because on Thursday they're airing a one hour version of the 90 minute daily show that aired on the first Thursday, and then immediately afterwards they're airing the then-Friday daily show. On Friday they'll be airing Showdown.

I wonder how they're going to remove half an hour from the launch show, since there was no filler. The only thing they could really do is cut all the intro videos, and as stupid as that is, it's all they could really do.

So, week one and we've already lost an hour of footage. Ugh.

And in regards to BBNZ, they should just do what Seven have done with The Amazing Race Australia - it's now The Amazing Race Australasia as it will now comprise of both AU and NZ teams.

lol. TV3 really aren't handling the show well - and it hasn't even premiered yet.

The most recent promo reveals the halfway house, some of the housemates who are evicted (and therefore don't win) and tries to pass off events that happened in the middle of the series (the fight between Tahan and Mikkayla depicted in a Late Night Feast) as happening in the first week. Oh, and they show Ben doing the twist from his fake eviction.

Good times.

Edit: Also, they're continuing to cutdown the 90 minute Thursday daily show to 60 minutes in week two. Maybe once they get past the Showdown-weeks they'll air the original 90 minute episodes.

I don't understand the point of showing BBAU on NZ TV. It's already finished, anyone can find out the boot order on the net, every episode is up on YouTube.
Is TV3 perhaps planning on showing the 2014 series as it airs here in Australia and want to get the general public excited about by showing the most recent season?

I bloody hope they are!

I hope you get your wish, it would have to be a good sign for the show if it could broaden its audience back to including NZ? I wouldn't mind them opening the auditions up to New Zealanders too, it would give the producers a bigger talent pool to choose from, plus it might be nice to have a sexy Kiwi accent or two in the house.
