Ben's too good to be true

I know everyone loves Ben but I find the guy too good to be true.

Maybe his dark side will come out as the days go by, but he reminds me of Bradley from last season. Everyone thought that Bradley was the greatest thing since peanut butter and then he became a big pain in the ass. And was voted out.

Can't wait to see Ben's dark side.
 
I don't know how I feel about Ben anymore. I feel like sometimes he is genuine, but he is often being quite OTT and probably a little fake. I hope he doesn't stay in too much longer.
 
Yeah I'm confused. Is BB playing with Australia. Is what we see really who he is. Is he acting up. etc etc etc I have many questions. I do think he is more intelligent than he lets on. Some things he says and some of the funny stuff that he has done (e.g. job interview) required him to be reasonably clever. I also don't think he was that bothered and not seeing his mum. However, he isn't a baby. I could easily not see someone because I know I will see them again. It's not like he was given the last ever chance in life to see her!

The thing that stumps me with him is his tears in the first week after the whole Drade marriage was proven a sham. That seemed very real. However, I still think he is a smart guy. Smarter than he lets on. I loved the way Tim was looking at him when Ben called him a Dickwad. It was like Tim was reassessing him a bit.
 
As I've said over the course of a few Daily Show threads, something is definitely untoward with his character. He goes in and out of completely different personas for different occasions. I was all for him in the beginning but now I can't help but agree that something doesn't seem right with him, whether he's putting on a complete act or that he is genuinely not 100% all there.

I am confident that, either way, there is a lot more to him than we're aware of right now.
 
I think it's all an affectation and persona taken on by himself to make life easier and to have people sympathetic. Sometimes it's just the persona and comes across naturally. Other times I think he breaks a bit and holds back. Other times he's clearly playing it up deliberately.


I still say the biggest sign he is playing it up is talking to the damn fucking pictures. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be introducing the pictures to the camera. Also anyone else if they were looking at pictures and wanting to speak, they'd just think in their head. It's not genuine at all.

I actually cannot believe that big brother keeps allowing him to do this. Surely it is breaking the rules??

If another HM was lying on their bed alone and started talking aloud to their mum I'm sure BB would put a stop to it. Just because it's a photo shouldn't make it OK.
 
I found it funny yesterday when Ben and Tim were in the kitchen talking about the mess and Ben opened the fridge and comments that something has been spilled or dripped in there ..... and then he does nothing. It was as if he was letting Tim know so Tim could clean it up or something. All I thought was OK so you've discovered a mess, then clean it!!

I think Tim pointed out that caleb's coffee thing had made a mess as it dripped onto the shelf below, and then Ben just pointed out another spot where it had dripped.

Bradley annoyed me from the word go.

As for Ben I think he is more than a little unbalanced .
 
I believe that Ben went into the house with an agenda. His agenda is to pretend and act so helpless. So everyone (including us) can fuss all over him and be like "awww Ben is so sweet"

That's what he is getting. He pretends like he misses mommy so much and talks like a seven year old. Acts like he has never had any experience in life, so everyone will help him. Especially Tully.

Ben is playing everyone and the house is falling for it. I believe he is the biggest fake and soon his manipulative ways will come out.

Tim is already on to him.

Yep, I think you're the closest to figuring Ben out. He's confusing me a bit but I think he has taken on this persona so people will treat him in a particular way.

I know.

However there seems to literally be blatant nominations talk going on that is let fly. So it's very loose this year.

I think BB allows talk about nominating in general, but draws the line when names are mentioned or specific people hinted at. I haven't seen that happen yet.
 
I mean, even his "save me" DR message on Monday was so bizarre.

That scene alone really confused me with how "different" he behaved from what we've always seen of him. It almost seems like he changes his character the most when communicating with the viewers. It's odd.
