Bucking the system
Ok, before you dismiss the topic, I'll explain that I understand the premise of casting a show like BigBrother.
Anybody who has seen the Peter Abbott interviews and documentaries since BBAU began, will also understand that you are always looking for not just interesting people, but personality traits that will mix well, create both harmony and conflict.
I even recall a casting documentary where two missed out because they were cast to appear together, but ended up being swapped for another two that would "fit together".
It follows that you will often get similar traits to earlier housemates, but there is something about this years mix.
That said, I'm really intrigued by this year's casting. It would appear that we have several personality types that have very obvious similarities of housemates of the past.
What slapped me across the face was the TVC after tonight's show telling us that we should remember Sarah Marie when thinking of the blonde sisters.
Yes, some of these comparisons are NOT exact matches, but no two people are exactly alike.
I should add that this is NOT a criticism. If it makes the show work, all the better. If it means we get BB2014, even better!
Some around here have already drawn loose comparisons, and I add my own.
For instance;
Caleb = Travis (2007)
Tahan = Brigitte (2008)
OR Laura (2007)
Tim = Paul (2004)
Heidi = Chrissie (2003)
