no worries! i also thought i would clear up they dont make you hand over your password on facebook, they simple makeyou put all your accounts on private and also add you on one of their secret facebook pages so they can keep an eye on you i guess.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Did this website ever get discussed?

i really feel for you being in a situation where the majority of people that were there were used to some sort of public exposure already. looks like most of the 2013 HMs seem to have done this as well, and i could only think of Sharon who might not have been in the spotlight before, but i think she went in looking to promote her business anyway. does not look like the average joe/jane scenario once again, and i was really hoping this year would be different, we have asked for this in the site so many times. why they no listen?

i am really glad this did not put you off at all, next year you will know the ropes, and hopefully not be so nervous or self conscious. your personality is what it is, and they obviously liked what they saw with you, just the butterflies and the lack of auditioning for anything before might have got to you :)

can i ask you, were you wanting anything at all out of BB if you went in? fame, promotion, job, freebies, more sex, hahaha?

so true! there were a few people that reminded me of sharon on the day actually, aussie mum with kids blah blah
My main goal for applying was just for the experience, i don't care about the fame or promoting a business..i have a partner on the outside and lead a pretty normal life with a career that i already earn good money in (not a media job, surprise surprise) i think i was one of the very few there that did it just for fun. most people there wanted the fame or a job out of it, not everyone, but most.

i read an article about Alex, i will come back and post it later. it sounds like he is very much what we in here are after as far as the show and HMs are concerned, so much so he could fit in here very nicely, he is fan of what BB should be rather than what it has been, very interesting read. the difference is, what he wants, what we want, is not the end product we are getting, the whole concept is getting lost in translation somewhere along the way, and who knows who is actually controlling the game

doing it for the experience, i love that

Haha nope, not me! I would make a shocking housemate. Not sure what is going on, I do know someone supposedly in the next round though but we'll see.

Thanks for the insight though secretsanta, always interesting to hear!
How come you were so sure that Sydney auditions weren't for a couple more weeks?

Is that the little sister Facebook page? Do you still have to be friends with the page even though you didn't get past day one?

Have you kept in touch with your friends who made it to the second day? Were they told when they would hear if they get in?

I'm so sick of waiting for an update on when BB is starting. It's killing me!

As a potential 2014 housemate (someone who progressed to the second phase of callbacks) I wouldn't mind sharing some insights into what took place on the day. I'm going to remain gender neutral for anonymity purposes. In my city's call back there were two groups of callback days (each with about 30 people).

Day 3, comprised of around 10 people from each day, for a total of around 20. I was one of the 10 that auditioned on the first day so had to wait the whole of the next day before receiving a text saying I was to attend the venue for a final callback. The day 2 process was quite similar to day 1, except the roll play was axed, stories were generally a lot more personalised and everyone seemed to be a lot less bitchy and catty towards one another. The final sum up from Alex was that he'd let us know by around mid-july. This was refreshing because up until then it was a "If you don't hear from us, bad luck" sort of situation.

What was the mix of potentials like? Please don't say young models/actors.

The room was unsurprisingly really young, almost everyone was pretty much in the 23-28 age range. There was only one or two models in the room from memory, everyone else seemed to be working pretty standard jobs, with a couple of students amongst the group as well. There was one girl in particular who stood out a lot in the way that she looked, and in a very non-traditional way and was also quite impressively articulate.

No surprises about the age group. They always say they are looking for older people/ mums etc but when it comes down to it they pick young ones.
Are you talking about the group from the third day call-back?
