Anyone else seeing Ben Zabel's show tonight?

I'm en route and can't wait. Should be a hoot. Am going to try & surreptitiously record it (or a chunk of it at least) on my phone. Any other Brisbane-dwellers going?

I'm a bit baffled anyone would spend good money to see him. I'd rather have my eyeballs tattoed. Each to their own, I guess.

While I don't dislike him, I probably wouldn't have gone if not for a friend wanting to see him & asking me to go with her. Incidentally, she had to pull out earlier today due to work, only for me to invite my best friend, who then couldn't go due to her youngest son having an accident this morning. Friend number 3 and I are now on our way![DOUBLEPOST=1417941949][/DOUBLEPOST]
@gemma6foot6 is attending tonight's show, so you might get to meet her as well:)
Hopefully!

Have just left the show. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday night. @gemma6foot6 I was in the front row near the exit, and saw the usher chick telling people off for taking photos with you. Killjoy LOL

Well, what can I say? Ben was every bit as candid, captivating and hilarious as I expected. It wasn't a "show" or a "performance" as much as a good old chinwag about everything from Roy the French bulldog to life as a regional flight attendant to being recognised in the lolly aisle at Woolies. I'd always thought of Ben as an excellent story-teller, but seeing/hearing this in person gave me a whole new appreciation. His anecdotes, analogies, segues, tangents & amusing asides varied from hilarious to downright endearing. For not one second did it feel like he was 'bunging it on', or that we were seeing a 'performance' from a 'character'. An utterly delightful evening.

Thank you... some people give Ben such a hard time... it's nice to see you and hopefully lots of other people loving his performance/talk!

Is anyone else horrified by this? Talk about turning someone's mental issues into TV pornography. But maybe this is what Ben wanted, dunno.
I was reading somewhere today that Ben only posted on fb/Instagram after his hospital admission was leaked to the media, and that the overdose was an accident during a panic attack, not deliberate or a suicide attempt.
