i posted this in another thread but i’ll repost:

i can see what they’ve done with the music to help modernise the show against others.
initially i was fully against them adding in music to any edits. surprising to me i actually liked the music they played while mel was talking during the live show, it made a fun vibe. but i don’t think they should be playing it as much as they did.
i was also fully against any music in the daily show, however, i look back and honestly some 10 era daily shows felt slow and unbearable at times. i think music is fine at the start of ep and transitions or the once in a blue moon light hearted moment to add a funky/bubbly vibe, but i don’t like when it’s used to convey emotion like when colin was crying or to make moments more tense like when bb was telling the task. that’s for me when it feels overly edited and manipulative and takes away the authentic social experiment bb feeling. i don’t think it should be played when actual footage/moments are playing out. i think they should stick to maybe 5-10% music, whereas now it feels around 40%. i think that’s a happy medium to help modernise it against all the highly produced shite on tv.
But out of curiousity i’ve asked fam and mates what they think and they don’t think the music is a problem at all, so i’m assuming the general viewing public doesn’t have an issue.

Music needs to go. Watching Big Brother is meant to make you feel like you're a fly on the wall, spying on these moments. You feel what you feel when watching, rather than being manipulated via music. Unless they start playing the music directly into the Diary Room (which would be hilarious, imagine you're in there crying and then sad music gets pumped in), then it needs to fuck off and never come back.

Can you imagine how shit Reggie's "I don't want to go back to my life" moment would have been if there was a music track on it?

There’s a time and place for music. 10 used to use it sparingly. Unmotivated use just throws off the story off.
The DR sad music cheapens the interaction between Big Brother and the housemate who happens to be in there at the time.

Point in case with Colin last night. The cheesy music was annoying, and I actually turned down the volume until it was over. I would have liked to hear what Colin had to say.

TPTB at ch 10, take note if you're lurking.

I’m posting this again in here in hopes of being heard by the folks at Endemol Shine and/or Banijay.

To those bitching about members that are disappointed with this reboot - it's unfair of you to expect everyone to be satisfied after the amazingpromotional campaign 10 have been running for the better part of 2025. You're verbalising being content and others should be able to do the same with an opposing view. Even more so to the long time fans.

They promised a return to the OG format and have not delivered outside of it being back to live. I understand things need to be modernised but what we're seeing is a washed up version of [UK network that can't be named] and the utter garb that 7 pushed on us. The UK's version does not need to be the "modern" template. Be original! The general consensus with this reboot is we were NOT going down that route again. There MUST be a happy medium between what 10 originally produced and the crap we've watched the last couple nights. Hell, I'd take Kris Noble's version back at this point if he is still around.

Yes, it's still early days. Yes, they still have a chance to make some tweaks. My concern is they've already set the precedent for how they're going to edit and produce this show. Sometimes it's small things that add up to create an issue everyone shares. The voice, lackluster house, editing style, backing tracks, launch night flops, emoting first-person BB... added all together and they're a pretty big issue. Mel has been the only positive constant the last couple days, and I do think they've mostly been successful in their casting this year.

I'm willing to give it a week and see if they can get their act together until I opt to switch off for the final time. I am happy Big Brother is back, but I really do believe this is Australia's last attempt at actually keeping this show on the air. They need to do it right and right now they are failing. After watching the old streams for the last several months I think they're heavily under-delivering. Part of the reasons for the streams was touted at being an opportunity for producers to see what worked and what didn't. From what I've seen they must've not watched a single episode. Even a simple change like how they're editing this (in a Disney/Nickelodeon style, no less) could make or break the season. It's plastered all over the most recent threads. Most are not liking the new editing style. Most are not liking therapist Big Brother. Most are not liking the house. Most are not liking the elevator music.

Oddly, I'm still optimistic this season can still turn itself around. The coming days well tell.

I will say this, if you aren't happy with how they're producing the show, post it on their social feeds. They're reading them before they tap 'hide'. If enough people comment then someone will be sharing feedback with the powers that be. It's also likely that because of fans like us voicing their frustration during the 7 days is the reason 10 even opted to resuscitate the show and bring back the live format.

I've watched BB since 2003. Some modern changes were expected to meet the views of a modern audience. This is NOT it. Do better.

A quick fix, if they’re reading this:
- drop the music
- drop the first person therapist big brother
- don’t use the DR as a confessional to narrate the story.
- let the housemates just do their thing with minimal interference.

I’m sure others have their own take. But this is easy and doable starting literally right now.

seeing the ratings, although they’re still solid, has scared me abit that ratings are only gonna go down further. although initially i was fine with music only at start of ep and scene transitions as a happy medium, if that’s what it took to modernise the format. i’ve completely changed my mind and i think the music needs to go all together. the magic of bb is just watching scenes play out and like has been said just eaves dropping on the housemates. it’s such a shame cause i think 10 have got so many elements correct but the music is just completely changing the vibe of the show to something that is taking the magic away from big brother.

maybe endemol got scared after channel 5 bb which just continued to go downhill, despite whatever they threw at it, but then again i think there were other issues with the show like it becoming pretty toxic and drama based towards the end.

but it’s not too late, i’m still holding hope channel 10 can come together and review the show and change what’s not working, especially after fan backlash. they could honestly finish really strong if they listen especially since all competition wraps up next week.

but i think we’re in this for the long haul as i reckon theyve solidly managed to slash costs to the point where they can manage to renew the show rating at 500/600k. so hopefully even if it’s not this season that’s a banger hopefully they can regroup for others.

- erect some sort of roof/tarpaulin over the live audience area, Queensland has lots of rainy weather at this time of year.

I have no issue with music being used in the daily show transition shots, just not under the actual house footage.

Also, you have remixed the Bb theme. Can you please bloody USE IT on live shows? Drop the whole production music while Mel is on stage, intro and outro to breaks should use the new BB theme win the actual melody, not some mashed version.
Any backing music should be the theme played in the background while on stage. We don’t need boppy shit, this is BB it’s not Love Island or MAFS. Use the shows identity and branding properly

Credit where credit's due. To the producers reading this forum, thank you for taking feedback on-board in tonight's Daily Show. It wasn't perfect but it was absolutely an improvement from yesterday. Thank you, thank you.

I wasn’t sure where else to post this, as the other relevant threads are now closed. But I wanted to acknowledge, the marketing continues to be very strong.

The fact they’re officially uploading the entire 2025 season on YouTube, specifically for international viewers, is a total game changer. Has any other western BB ever done this? The episodes are available for free worldwide and they’re already garnering thousands of views and comments from people in countries like the UK, US, Asia and Europe.

BBUK should take note.

This is very clever. As I said, game changer.

Yep.. happened a couple of times, actually. Endemol has uploaded the first season of Celebrity Big Brother USA to the ill-fated Big Brother Universe channel after the US broadcast, albeit geo-blocked in some countries where they couldn't due to licensing issues (e.g. a local broadcaster acquired the rights to the series themselves).

In recent years, Big Brother VIP from Albania and Kosovo have been uploaded to YouTube. Gran Hermano Argentina and Chile got official uploads on YouTube as well..

La Casa de Los Famosos (the Celebrity Big Brother adaption in Spanish-speaking US and Latin America) has also seen official uploads at least for the Columbian version. Tamasha - Pakistan's now licensed Celebrity Big Brother adaption - uploads all episodes as well.

Big Brother Germany has a paid live stream, but has free windows a couple of times a day, which are hosted on YouTube and not geo-blocked. (Other versions had 24/7 feeds on YouTube before, but some of them were geo-blocked).

If any of those - feeds or episodes - were blocked, then only in certain countries. But otherwise, they were (and often still are) available to watch internationally.
